This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Is the bedwetting occuring only when the weather outside is colder?

Observe, whether it is occuring in first sleep or later. You may have to observe her in the night once in two hours, to know the time when bed wetting happens.

Describe her mentality in detail.

This is a vexing problem, and cure will take time. You may have to try two three different medicines, before relief is obtained.

since when this bed wetting started? Recollect whether any particular incidence triggered it?

There are many medicines indicated for bed wetting.

Causticum, Sepia, Equisetum, Lycopodium, Pulsatilla, benzoic acid, belladona, opium are a few of them. There are many more which can cure this condition.

To zero in on the correct medicine, more details are required.

Bedwetting

Does the sufferer sleep too deeply to wake up when wetting the bed?
Or are they restless when sleeping?
Does the wetting occur soon after sleep starts?
Has bedwetting started after some kind of injury or accident?
Or have it started because the sufferer is ill with some other condition (and are normally dry at night)
Are they unusually thirsty?
Do they feel ashamed or disgusted that this happens to them?

Dear sajjad

I think you are referring to Kent.

Those rubrics don't cover childern specifically, and are more general in nature.

Murphy has got a chapter for childern, and it has the rubric 'bed wetting'

Bedwetting,fist sleep: benz.ac(1),Caust(3),cina
(1),Kreos(2),ph-ac(2),Sep(3)

However since she urinates more than once, this special rubric may not be of much help.

There is another

in weakly childern: Chin..single medicine grade2.

Another..

When there is no tangible cause except habit: Equis..single medicine grade 3.

Since the problem is from birth, I prefer to try Equisetum 6c, 2 drops in about 15 ml. of water ,as a dose, one dose every night, succussing the liquid medicine before each dose; before going to sleep, for a week to start with.

Equisetum is covered under the general rubric

'Bedwetting in childern' too.

There is a different rubric for adolescence. Again a single medicine Lac.c ..grade 2.

I request other colleagues too to join me in this discussion, if they feel like.

Hi Navneet

Just wait for some more time to see other responses. We will try to reach a consensus, if possible.

As I told earlier, despite the help from repertory it is still a 'trial' only, and we may not zero in on the remedy in the first go.

But, we may succeed in our second or third attempt.

So, please be patient.

EQUISTEM is a remedy for enuresis with dysuria. When wetting the bed is without any tangible cause except habit.

Also Incontinence in children, with dreams or night-mares when passing urine

The present case is with worm symptom.Grinding of teeth is a clear indication for worms. If Cina has not worked the other remedy for worms may have been considered.

All types of worms are not taken care by Cina. Cina is a remedy for round, thread and tape worms. and is recommended in very low potency say in 1X potency. This was not tried.

Any way, let us see the result of the medicine suggested and thereafter we may consider the other ones.

In any case the worms have got to be eliminated to avoid other complications.

Wish the patient speedy recovery.

Rajendra last decade
Dear Rajendra

Grinding of teeth is different from chattering. I don't know whether Navneet earlier told about 'grinding' of teeth. I have to checkup his older posts.

Chattering of teeth generally happens when the patient feels cold and chilly. If the chattering is happening only in nights, then it is to be observed, whether the patient is feeling chilly too at the same time.

If the chilliness is felt while the chattering occurs, the remedy probably is Gelsemium. Gelsemium is grade 2 for 'spasmodic enuresis' in childern.

May be we can try this in case Equisetum fails to relieve.

I checked his earlier posts too, and he is talking about 'chattering' only, and not 'grinding'.

I wish Navneet understands the difference and confirms whether it is really chattering or grinding.

'Generally, worms announce their presence inside your body through symptoms like persistent abdominal pain, anal itching or diarrhea.'

*********

Parasite Signs, Adults, Children

Allergies, Many allergies are caused by worm infections. Tissue becomes inflamed and reactions to foods are the result when eosinophils (white blood cells) are increased due to them. Extreme skin rashes with blisters and food allergies or sensitivities may result.

Anemia, Worms leach nutrients from bodies causing anemia. When they are present in large numbers, they can create enough blood loss to cause anemia or iron deficiency in some people.

Constipation, Some worms can obstruct certain organs like the colon causing constipation, liver and the bile duct.

Diarrhea, Most of the time diarrhea is nature's way of removing toxins.

Fatigue, Symptoms include tiredness, flue-like symptoms, apathy, depression and lack of concentration.

Gas and Stomach Bloating, Some parasites live in the upper intestine, which can cause both gas and stomach bloating.

Immune Dysfunction, Parasites depress the immune system by decreasing immunoglobulin.

Nervousness, The waste products from parasites irritate the nervous system, resulting in anxiety and restlessness.

Other Signs of Parasites in Children

Blisters appear on the inside of the lower lip, wiping of the nose, restlessness and grinding of the teeth at night, dark circles under the eyes, hyperactive, bed wetting, headaches, sensitive to light, twitching eyelid, gum, rectum, or nose bleeding are signs they may have parasites.

I am pasting the above information just to highlight the probable connection between 'grinding' of teeth, and bed wetting.

If there is 'grinding of teeth' and bed wetting and any of the above symptoms, your surmise is correct, that the worms might be the reason and they have to be eliminated first.

And one more thought Dear Rajendra

If the problem has been there 'since birth', do you still feel it may be due to worms?

Murthy

gavinimurthy last decade
Mr. Murthy,

Thanks for enlightening the differene between chattering and grinding.

I hope you may be aware of some medicine or the reason for chattering.

Kindly enlighten me on this matter. It may add to some of my knowledge.

I am not aware if the child chatters since birth.

Any way as regard the other various symptoms are concerned the patient's parents can better describe what other ailment is there with the child.

Dear Rajendra

Just google for 'chattering of teeth'. Type along with the quotation marks, and you have lot of information.

There is a very enlightening article from Hindu.

Hi Navneet

You have to be very precise while describing symptoms. If it is grinding of teeth, it could be an indication for worms.

Look for the other symptoms of worm infection, and confirm if she has any of those.

Hold on with equisetum, if you have not started yet. Even if you have started it, stop it, and wait for further analysis.

Confirm about the other symptoms of worms, if any, to proceed further.

Murthy

gavinimurthy last decade
Why 'equisetum'

Now the patient is grinding.

Is it not sufficient that the patient is having worms.

You feel that the patient is not having worms because you have prescribed a different remedy.

Symptoms for Equisetum relating to Urination are as under :-

'Urinary.--Severe, dull pain and feeling of fullness in bladder, not relieved by urinating. Frequent urging with severe pain at the close of urination. Urine flows only drop by drop. Sharp, burning, cutting pain in urethra while urinating.'

The medicine prescribed by you is not the correct one.

Rajendra last decade
Hi Rajendra

Read my above post carefully. I asked Navneet to STOP equisetum.

I will always review the prescription, if the original assumptons change.

So what medicine should I use it is very neccessary as she is growing up & someday or other she will be ashamed or feel guilty & we do not want her to grow up like this, aslo can you please tell me as what symptoms should I look for worms does worms have any affect on bedwetting?

navneet43 last decade
In one of the above posts the major symptoms of worms are given.

Just read them and confirm whether your child has any of those symptoms.

As Rajendra says, if she grinds the teeth, there is a strong possibility of worms, and I want to confirm it, by looking for other symptoms related to worms.

We can't rush these things. We are working to find a solution. Please be patient.

Murthy

gavinimurthy last decade
Bed wetting is one of the indications for worms, as also the grinding of teeth.

If there are a few more symptoms that tally, the treatment has to be first for eradication of worms.

Rajendra is insisting all the time that, it is a case of worms, and in all probability he may be right.

In case we come to a consensus as to the worms, then the medicines will change.

So, read about the symptoms due to worms, and confirm.
