This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
' it was you that dared to question the efficacy of my therapy.'

I think this statement says it all.

This statement was not addressed to you as it was in my response to Fitness.

I do hope that you have read and UNDERSTOOD the post I made addressed to you which you obviously seem to discard in your own supercilious manner which as I stated aids and abets

THE DEATH OF HOMEOPATHY.

Remember that it is not just words that matter.

It is more the DEEDS that count.

Joe De Livera 9 years ago
It doesn't matter who specifically it was addressed to, the tone of it is quite clear. I was simply pointing it out.

The 'death of homoeopathy' as you put it is much more likely to come about from people portraying Allopathy as Homoeopathy as you do. You are not the first Allopath to use our medicines and our reputation for their own self-aggrandizement.

However, fortunately for homoeopathy, these divergent 'systems' usually fade with the developer, so I don't really fear for my profession.

All truth passes through three stages.

First, it is ridiculed.

Second, it is violently opposed.

Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Fitness,

Just to let you know I am still waiting for that remedy to be delivered. I hope you don't mind me asking but which of my daughters symptoms makes you think the solution might be Calcarea Phosphorica.

I am not trying to question you but I am really interested in homeopathy and really would like to understand it more.

I hope I have no offended you by asking this question.

miriams 9 years ago
There is an easier way to explain, read about Cal-P, if it seems like your daughter's case, you will know how I reached at it.

Thanks for the reply. I just need to be careful before taking my daughter off Zantac. I have done it before and it was very stressful, what with looking after 4 children. I hope you understand.

I have read the following which does match my daughters symptoms somewhat.

Gastric Symptoms
Heartburn and flatulence. Unusual hunger. Sinking sensation in epigastrium. Pain after eating, with soreness on pressure. The sufferings from the stomach are aggravated by taking even the smallest quantity of food. Dyspepsia with distress in stomach, temporarily relieved by eating and by raising wind. When fasting, pain goes to the spine. Infant wants to nurse all the time, and vomits often and easily. Pain in the stomach with debility. Vomiting after cold water and ice cream. Headache and diarrhoea, worse eating. Craves bacon, ham, salted or smoked meats. Much flatulence. Abdomen sunken and flabby. Mesenteric glands enlarged. Colic at every attempt to eat

Just to note:

1) my daughters stool are watery and yellow not green
2) she can be windy
3) when I say she is teething - she is drooling and has the fingers in the mouth all the time
4) the silent reflux manifests itself with acid in the mouth which I can see and hear happening, the squirms and arches the back. she can wake suddenly from sleep with the pain of acid coming up her throat and into her mouth
5) when she is bad she struggles to get comfortable while actually feeding. she can be like someone wrestling a bear

Do you still feel Calcarea Phosphorica is the correct remedy.

I hope you don't mind this line of posts as all I want to do is help my daughter. I am not trying to offend anyone

Thanks

thank you so much for the reply. I do appreciate your help. as soon as the remedy arrives I will try it and let you know.

Thank you so much

Dear Fitness

That remedy arrived late yesterday. I gave her a dose last night and 12hrs last.

As she has stopped the Zantac it is hard to explain any improvement. However, she was good enough last night and this morning but this afternoon she seems to be refluxing again. I can see her swallowing what is coming back into her mouth. She is not screaming but she is crying for a few mins while it is in her mouth.

Please advise

miriams 9 years ago
Her body will try to come to a balance after Zantac and with the remedy. Resist the urge to overdo.

You can repeat the doses keeping 12 hrs in between them only if there is a constant worsening of symptoms.

Don't give a dose on the first sign of reflux, let her body find the balance.

The first sign of improvement will be that she will be emotionally fine even with some reflux.

OK thanks for the guidance. I will monitor her and keep you posted

Hi Fitness,

Can I ask, my daughter is waking the last couple of nights between 2am and 3am, I think from the reflux. The only way I can settle her is feeding her. This, as you can imagine is exhausting.

Have you any advise?

Thanks a mill

miriams 9 years ago
Lets first focus on the reflux symptoms during the day, has there been any change after the doses.

fitness 9 years ago
No change in the doses. I gave her the 2 you said and no more. I will keep an eye on her today and let you know at the end of the day how is she. Then as you said we can have a look at the night.

Dear Fitness

My daughter is doing very well. She did struggle a bit this morning so I gave her another dose of Calc Phos. That would have been her third dose. I hope I did the right thing - to give her a dose when she is bad.

miriams 9 years ago
Good. You did right. Remember the 12 hr gap and resist overdoing. Keep me posted.

fitness 9 years ago
I gave her that third dose this morning and she seems calm again. I am so grateful for your help.

Thanks for the reply Fitness. Hope these answers are OK

1. Age, weight, height -

Age 6 months. weight - 16lb. height- I am not sure

2. Physical appearance of the child e.g. thin, chubby, tall, short

-average really. Not thin but not chubby. a sturdy child.

3. Describe the nature of the child (shy, headstrong etc. give details)

She is extremely pleasant. She rarely cries during the day and is very smiley

4. Have the growth milestones (e.g. teething, standing, walking, talking etc. )achieved early, on time or late

She has no teeth but is teething. She is not talking or walking.

5. What are the symptoms of the health problem

She did have silent reflux but it seems to be under control. It does not seem to bother her

6. What makes the problem better without using medicines - The main problem is that she wakes every night at about 2am and it
takes about 2 hours to settle her.

7. What makes the problem worse without using medicines I cannot determine is something makes her better or worse

8. How is the child behaving emotionally during this problem

she cries from the time she wakes up till since is exhausted and goes back to sleep. We have to pick her up
and reassure her, put in her pacifier and let her cry and continue the cycle again

9. How long the problem has been there

For a number of months.

10. What is the reason of the problem in mother’s view

It could be related to the silent reflux but I am not sure

11. How is the child’s thirst & appetite

She is very healthy looking. She is breastfed and hates a bottle.

12. What does the child like to eat

She really only like breastmilk and does not seem to like solid ffod

13. What does the child dislike in food

All she is getting is millet porridge, and vegtables and baby rice. She really ates her vegtables

14. Is there any strong preference of taste e.g. sweet, salty, sour, bitter

No

15. How is the stool & urine

Can go from yellow to green nd from semi formed to green and watery. she is starting solids so her system has to get
used to the different food. This sleep problem was an issue before starting solid food

16. How is the child’s sleep

She catnaps during the day. She goes to bed at 7pm and sleeps till 2amish and goes back to sleep at about 4am till 6.30am. she will
feed and maybe go back for another hour

17. What is the child afraid of (animals, insects, darkness, alone etc.)

Nothing

18. Where does the child sweat normally

She does not really sweat

19. How much does the child sweat (little, moderate, a lot)

little

20. Any problems with nose, throat, ears, chest

sometimes at night her nose gets blocked

21. Is the child normally cold or hot

She is usually warm

22. Was it a planned pregnancy, if not, how did you feel on finding about it

It was planned

23. How was the pregnancy of the mother (morning sickness, bleeding, happy, sad, tense etc)

physically tough. Bad morning sickness. very tiring

24. How is the relationship of mother & father

both very sleep deprived but good considering

25. What diseases run in your family (mother & father)

asthma, digestive issues
