Thank you. Bowel movements are normal again. Will the Cal Carb help the bone bump/dent?

Thank you!

Yes. She will need a few more doses but do not repeat medicine now. Update after one week or earlier if needed.

Oh gosh. She just fell again and hit the same side of her head/face altho not the forehead where the other injury is. She will have a black eye and a bruise on her cheek. I gave Arnica 200c after it happened. She cried for a minute and then wanted her toys to comfort her. Generally she seemed fine but looked bruised red and purple. Red on top with purple under. Is arnica right?

Thank you

Cailanna 7 years ago
Yes. Arnica was right.

telescope 7 years ago
Ok. It's actually much better already. The eye won't bruise after all. She does tend to fall a lot. She doesn't look where she is going. Not sure if that is just normal or symptomatic of anything.

I'll write back in a week to detail repeating call carb.

Thank you.

madam: It is one year now. I pity the child who has had to take so many medicines. I suggest now you make a summary of what seems to have happened to child to begin with. Certain things happening might not have been abnormal. Make it in simple terms, not as an experienced patient.I tried reading all posts but could make little sense. Stick to facts, avoid drama. What is wrong with child falling? It is your fault. These meds like Arnica are avoidable. How can a 9- month old keep falling on its own. Much seems to be wrong.

Hello! You said you hadn't read all the posts so I'll quickly put your fears to rest. She's not mine months anymore, and the original issue is gone. She's almost 2 years old. She falls because she runs around. It's inevitable. I only offer that she falls a lot to telescope in case that is helpful since telescope has advised. To keep her from falling would be impossible without holding her at all times. There's nothing seriously wrong with her--no need to worry. I ask telescope for help when it is needed. The biggest thing "wrong" with her is that she hates having her hair washed. Otherwise she is normal with normal toddler issues that sometimes need more support, which telescope has given. Thank you for your concern.

madam: I give up!

Telescope:

I gave her one other dose of the calc carb. That little bump on her forehead is still there. However, I am wondering about a different issue now.

She seems to have a cold. Her voice has gotten raspy although she has no other typical symptoms. Nose is not running and I cannot see congestion although her breathing is a little loud. Eyes are fine, no cough. She has sneezed a little more than normal. Her louder breathing, sneezing and raspy voice are the only cold symptoms. Emotionally, she is very possessive of toys right now and sleeping very poorly (waking every two hours and wanting to nurse even though we don't nurse at night anymore). Appetite is decreased which is probably why she keeps waking. In the past seven days she has said her belly hurts (just prior to every bowel movement) and she has a little dermatitis on her back in the diaper waistband. She hasn't had any foods that trigger dermatitis so I think it's viral connected to this cold. Tiny pink and white dots for five days. The dr said her belly pain and her dermatitis are normal. Just wondering if I can help her belly and voice feel better. Thank you!

this is an addition to the previous post above. I wanted to clarify that her voice is nearly gone. The cold is so mild that I'm not concerned except that she cannot talk much. That plus the belly pain and rash made me think she might benefit from a remedy. I'm sure she'll be fine in a week without one.

Thanks!

Cailanna 7 years ago
Please give her one dose Causticum 30. That should put her voice right.

telescope 7 years ago
Thank you. It worked. Her voice came back quickly. Her cold went away pretty fast too and her belly pain is less. The rash is spreading though. Any thoughts on the rash? It seems similar to pityriasis rosea but she is rather young to have that. I got it once when I was 20 and I recall it's usually older kids. It doesn't seem to bother her though. Thanks!

Cailanna 7 years ago
You can repeat Causticum 30 every 7 days.
You will also need Sulphur 30 sometime soon. So keep it ready.
For the time being do not do anything for the rash. It may yield to Causticum.

Ok great. Thank you. I have sulphur on hand too. This virus is really weird though. Her belly stopped hurting but now her vagina hurts. She woke at 3:30 am crying and said it hurt. We nursed the rest of the night to ensure her bladder was getting fully emptied several times to wash out any bacteria. I also put d-mannos in her water and made sure she drank a lot more today. As the day progressed, she said her vagina hurt only one more time. Hopefully tomorrow will be better, but this is so weird. She's usually extremely healthy physically. As

I ended up giving her cantheris 30c since I was nervous she had a UTI. She has said her vagina hurts only a few times since then. However she has started saying her belly hurts again. Points to the belly button. Seems to correspond to needing to have a bowel movement. Elimination is good consistency and color and no foul smell.

The rash is still there. The first area has flaked away leaving dry skin, and the second area too, but it looks as though a new crop of tiny red bumps are erupting now. It's just the left butt cheek and it has been three weeks.

She is also talking in her sleep --conflict over her toys "No, my toys" over and over for about a minute somewhere between 3am-8am. She is petite and is easy to dominate so other kids try to take her toys at the playground. She has become possessive of them in response. Also falling asleep later and later, and sleeping in later waking unrefreshed. She gets hyper before bed and nurses to sleep at night to calm down--which is taking longer.

Her mood is pretty good otherwise and her very last molar (until she is five) is almost through. Just a bit more needs to come through the gum. It hurts her as she has been biting on things and asking for frozen peas.

Do you think sulphur would help the rash? I'm nervous to try causticum again since it was several days after that dose that she had the UTI symptoms. Maybe unrelated even though causticum affects urine?

She hasn't had sulphur in a long time but I don't want to give without input. Thank you!

I did and waited and also eliminated dairy and hair washing (the only thing that causes her great stress). It cleared up after a week for a few days but the next time I washed her hair, it came back. She had dairy the same day so it could be either. But the hair washing (dislike of water in face/eyes) has become so upsetting to her that it creates an enormous amount of stress. When we washed her hair, she was getting over a head cold that pulsatilla helped but then she relapsed into a fever. She had a fever during the last day of the head cold and then seemed much better the next day so I washed her hair (I didn't want to wash it while she was sick). She was fine that night but the next night she had a 101 fever and it persists for 19 hours now although it fluctuates down to 98.9 and back up to 101 through the day. Head feels so hot. Last night the hands and feet were hot too. Today just the head. She seems very clingy-and emotional like pulsatilla. She won't eat today. Not especially thirsty but will nurse. Bowels are normal but a little smelly. Her energy is gone. Her face doesn't seem red and her eyes seem glassy but not dilated. Her belly hurts from not eating but she won't eat. She isn't sweating and she doesn't say she has pain anywhere other than her belly. The dr said her belly pain is from hunger and not to worry. She doesn't seem chilled and doesn't complain of being hot even though her skin is burning and her temperature is high. Any ideas?

Thank you

This post is to add more to the one above. Her sleep is restless. Moaning and moving. Wanting to be held.

Please give her one dose Calcarea Carb 30.

telescope 7 years ago
Hi. Thank you. Her fever broke by morning. I did give her one dose of calcera carb when she woke up. It helped her dairy issue and eczema. She actually asked for cheese all that day which is very unusual. Her sleep also improved for several nights although has gotten worse for the past two nights Her runny nose was better for two days but it has gotten progressively worse since. Clear and viscous runny nose that makes it hard for her to breathe. Worse when lying down and has a wet cough after nursing. Has to pull of the breast to breathe. The last two nights she is talking in her sleep and moaning.

I washed her hair last night and it was about 50% better but still very upsetting to her with a lot of crying. The eczema flared very slightly behind one knee after the hair washing. I tried getting her to wear a visor and goggles so her face and eyes wouldn't get wet but she wouldn't wear them (although she will wear hats outside).

Her mood is pretty good but very possssive of her space and toys when other toddlers are around. Mine! No! Over and over. Even in her sleep.

Although her appetite has returned, it is low. She barely eats all day - just snacking, and then has a good dinner. She wants a lot of fruit. She will eat meat, dairy, fruit, rice. Dislikes most veggies.

I don't know if this matters or is helpful to knowing her but her right leg is a little weak. She climbs stairs with her left leg only and we've noticed that in the past month if we encourage her to use her right leg on the stairs, it's very weak. She also walks a little sideways sometimes. She sees a chiropractor so she had no functional problems just some weakness. I think all teeth are finally in until she is five.

Still thin, underweight, fair, blond, smiles a lot. If possible, I'd like to get this runny nose to go away since it has been over three weeks.

Thank you!

I am adding to the above post. She starts coughing now every time she lies down or nurses so she can't fall asleep. It's a wet cough caused by the viscous clear runny nose going down her throat. Also comes out her nose, but only when upright.

Cailanna 7 years ago
Please repeat Calcarea Carb 30 one dose.

Ok I did. Her runny nose stopped. Two of her friends have had this same cold with the same lingering runny nose. Then in the fourth week when they seemed better, they both vomited. Caia vomited today too. It had a strong sour foul scent. She was in the car and we were driving. She has never been motion sick before but she did seem better from stopping the car and getting fresh cool air. Since then, low appetite, high thirst. No fever.

She had a very loose stool 10 hours later that smelled very foul and was muddy in texture but light yellow. I e never seen it that color before. There was a lot of grunting and she laid down to do it. And said her belly hurt just prior to pooping.

She also tried to eat a small pebble today. She doesn't put stuff in her mouth anymore but she put this in there and said it was delicious. (I got it out).

She started moaning and talking in her sleep again last night saying "no, mine!" over and over. Her mood seems rather contentious. Saying No! a lot during wake-time hours as well. She is very upset by the barking dog and loud noises like the vacuum suddenly. She has never been bothered by them before. It makes her start crying but it's generally a fake cry at first if the sound stops quickly. It progresses into a real cry if the sound continues.

She has been picking her nose excessively since getting this cold. Even though her runny nose is gone she is still doing it. She definitely seems better except for the vomiting and low appetite. The other two kids were better within a day or two of vomiting so I suspect she will be as well. What a weird cold this has been. Four weeks! Eczema is gone though although still hates getting her face wet for hair washing.

Thank you for your help!

OK. Give her another dose Calcarea Carb 30.

Thanks! I did, and she seems good. Nose is clear, poops seem pretty good although a bit more stinky than usual. Less nose picking although still some. Still waking and moaning and talking in sleep throughout the night. Last night, she woke screaming a few times. Mood is good and a bit less contrary. I haven't washed her hair yet.

She had her two-year doctor appointment and the doctor is concerned that her growth is not progressing. Her weight has not increased at all and now her height is slowing much more than before. She started eating at 5 months and loved everything she ate and ate very well. Starting at 13 months, she started refusing most of the foods she had eaten easily prior. From her 1-year appointment, her weight dropped from 50th percentile to now below the 10th percentile. Her height was slipping too but just in the past three months it dropped from 50th to 25th which she said when it's that fast it can mean malnourishment. Her height was at 70th percentile when she was a year.

I had help from a nurse when my daughter was 15 months old on how to encourage her to eat more but it hasn't worked. That nurse said to give her six course meals with two options for each course. This would give her choice and shed likely eat a little from every choice. It stopped working after a month and she started refusing food.

The doctor wants to get a GI evaluation for my daughter in three months if she doesn't put on any weight to see if there is a physical reason.

My opinion is that she just isn't interested in food and maybe she can't taste flavors well. She barely eats in the morning, she snacks a little bit until lunch. She'll eat a small lunch after nap and a snack after playing, then a good dinner. She likes to nurse a lot and I have to negotiate with her to eat a few bites of real food before she is allowed to nurse.

She likes almost all meats. She likes fresh fruit, mainly berries. She likes rice crackers and rice toast but she doesn't like wheat bread (usually gets eczema from it). She likes avocados and she likes brown rice. She does not like pasta. Sometimes she likes nuts. She doesn't like eggs, she doesn't like vegetables (although from 5-11 months, she loved ALL vegetables), she is not given sugary snacks so I can't say if she likes those. She has had a little taste of chocolate and a little taste of ice cream and she liked both. She will eat sheep's milk yogurt daily, and sometimes a little cheese but often she refuses cheese.

She will eat more easily from other people than from me. From me, she refuses more than she refuses with others. With me, she asks to nurse.

I'm not sure how to encourage her to eat more at this point. Wouldn't she eat if she were hungry? The nurse said she is accustomed to being hungry and doesn't understand what being full feels like, so she stops eating when she feels less hungry rather than stopping when she feels full. Yet, I can tell she is hungry because her mood gets grumpy like everyone's does but when I tell her she needs to eat, she says "no, I don't like to eat food, mamma."

So I guess we will end up doing the evaluation in a few months although we might try sooner in case it is physical.

You can repeat after 7 days from the last dose to see if things improve.
