She was given a Sulphur 200 dose day-before morning.

On the day she had the dose, she passed normal stools in the afternoon.

One day after the dose, she could not control her urine in the school and wetted her pants. There was a marked increase in the appetite. She also passed stools twice. Her second stools were a lot smelly.

Yesterday she also had a fall in the park from the children's slide. The fall was just incidental. She was not staring when she fell. As she fell from a height (around 5-6 feet), she was a lot traumatized. She has a swollen lower lip and some minor internal injury on one of her arms. We have not given her any medication (neither allopathic nor homeopathic). She may not be able to attend her school today.

I will keep posting about any new symptoms.

ok

what severity of 'fall''?

John Stanton last decade
She fell on hard soil. She fell flat (face downwards). She had minimal bleeding (kinda scratches only) on the lower lip and chin.

Her arm ached during the night and she woke up thrice because of that. She was OK once we wrapped it loosely in a cloth (to avoid exposure). Her arm is perfectly OK now in the morning. No aches in the head or anywhere else in the body.

Her lower lip is still swollen. She is having difficulty in eating/drinking. She is able to take some soft fruits (mangos, guava etc). Otherwise she is talking/behaving perfectly normally. Hopefully she will be well enough to attend school tomorrow.

She cried bitterly once she fell. She briefly stared twice. We also observed that her legs were very cold. She was given a foot massage (mustard oil only).

We also gave her a little bit of homey in the morning to help with the swelling on the lip.

better to have used arnica 30c or 200c --than mustartd oil and honey---remember to follow restrictions--sometimes 'honey' have medicinal effect--sometimes -depend on sensitivity--since not known best to follow restrictions to point..

John Stanton last decade
Honey was given in a very small amount. Will not give more.

puneet last decade
very small amount = less than 1/8 tea spoon.

She was OK yesterday. Her starng spells were less frequent. She did not pass stools yesterday.

Today she is staring more frequently. Yesterday night there was an electricity failure. In this part of the world electricity failures are frequent (daily). She woke up from feeling hot. She did not sleep till the electricity cut was over.

Our room is fitted with a room cooler. She insists on sleeping right in front of the cooler. But once she wakes up, she finds the tap water cold. She takes bath only if we mix some warm water. This is not a new symptom.

She has passed stools today afternoon. Usually she gets better after passing sools.

Hello John

Here are some changes in symptoms that we have observed over the past 3-4 days.

But before that I want to relate an incident which happened today morning. She was on the swings in the park with me. At a distance a young boy (7-8 yrs) was hitting another boy of the same age. As the poor boy started crying, I went along with my daughter and scolded the offender. And then we came back from the park. On the way back, she had a brief staring spell and after that she said that she had spanked the boy. I was confused and I asked her who did she spank. She stared again for a second and then said that she spanked the offending boy. On being asked what happened next, she stared yet again for a second and said that she spanked him and told him that she does not hit her younger brother. Then I told her that I did not see her spanking anybody, then she said she would have done it had he not stopped beating the other boy. It seemed to me that she imagined all this during the spells.

She is keeping good appetite after taking the Sulphur dose.
Her dandruf is also mostly cured. For the past three days, she is passing stools once a day and the stools are normal. She is also having mild cold for past two days.
The frequency of her staring/rolling spells is not much reduced. As before, the spells are of 1-4 seconds duration.

She is also licking her hands and arms quite a lot. She developed this licking habit after the Pulsatilla dose.

After taking Pulsatilla, she had started sleeping regularly in the afternoon. Now she has again become quite stubborn and refuses to sleep during the daytime (though her eyes show that she is very sleepy). Her stubbornness seemed to have reduced further just after the first Sulphur dose (sulph 30). But after Sulph 200, it has somewhat increased.

puneet last decade
the 'licking' has been contiuous throughout sulher use?

how much 'stubborn'? please explain

John Stanton last decade
We have not noticed any change in her habit of licking hands/forearms.

I used the word stubborn only regarding afternoon sleep. Ealier (after puls and after sulph 30) she used to sleep for about 2 hours in the afternoon (usually). And it was not difficult to make her go to sleep. Sometimes she used to even say that she wants to sleep. Now she does not agree to sleep even though she is visibly sleepy and rubs her eyes to fight against sleep. This symptom (resisting sleep and rubbing eyes) was there before giving puls also. Now it has kind of returned though to a lesser extent.

what does she do 'during this time of not taking a nap"? how active is she during this time? what exact time this occur?

John Stanton last decade
She is playful. She kinda finds excuses not to sleep. She will lye down on the bed with her mother for 10-20 minutes. Then suddenly she will get out of the bed and say that she wants to take water (or that she is hungry). Once she is out, she will take water and then she wants to play something. She also likes to read books. She can not read yet, so she will see the pictures in the books. If it is a new book, she needs somebody to read it for her. For the books she has seen 4-5 times, she looks at the pictures silently and can relate the story from the pictures. She can keep busy like that for as much as 30 minutes. And she remains very absorbed while doing that (does not listen if somebody is calling her).

As she becomes more sleepy, the frequency of the staring spells rises.

ok--observation is in order now--keep informing as symptoms arise and/or as feel need..

John Stanton last decade
No changes to report.

She is still keeping away from sleeping in the afternoons. It has been like that for a week now. In the evening she gets very tired and sleeps early (9pm). Getting stools regularly for a week now (once a day). Stools are normal. She is also keeping good appetite.

As reported earlier, her staring spells are interruptable.

Lately we have started to divert her attention just as she starts staring/rolling her eyes. We do it mildly by way of starting a talk etc (not in a way that would startle/shock her). We have also observed that the frequency of stares goes down significantly if we make her busy/happy.

Earlier on, the frequency/intensity of stares used to go up significantly as she became more sleepy. And she did not use to stare at all for a couple of hours after waking up.

Now, for the past one week, the staring spells have become kind of independent of sleepiness. We have seen her staring sometimes just after she wakes up in the morning. And there is not much significant change in the frequency as she becomes sleepy/tired. However she stares more often in the afternoon period -- 12 noon to around 3 pm. The frequency goes down after 4pm even though she is not taking her afternoon nap these days.

ok--seems
to be in 'right' direction--abscence of afternoon napping is not a problem ...

John Stanton last decade
For the past couple of days, she has shown some improvement wrt staring/rolling spells.

On the past couple of days she was extremely tired when she came back fom her school. She also had afternoon nap on both the days.

She has developed a little bit of cough (and a slight cold). No fever.

puneet last decade
ok--monitor progession of cold-may resolve itself--but maybe need treatment..

John Stanton last decade
Cold-cough are under control now.

However today her frequency of turning eyes upwards was much higher (between 1pm to 5pm). Whereas during the last couple of days it was significantly lower.

Three days back she had had 250g (8 ounces) sweetened/flavoured milk for the first time after she stopped taking milk (three years back). Though she had had taken the same milk earlier on a few occasions, but only about 50gm (2 ounces).

I am briefly giving the cronological order of her main symptom below.

Before Puls 1M -- staring (often followed by rolling upwards)

After two days of Puls 1M -- staring alone

After one week from Puls 1M -- Staring with infrequent rolling

After Sulph 30 -- Not much change noticed (slight improvement in frequncy/intensity)

After Sulph 200 -- Not much change

After 1 week of Sulph 200 -- Rolling upwards alone (very seldom preceded by staring)

She continues to pass stools regularly. Appetite also continues to be better.

Another symptom which may be of some importance is her tendecy to move her legs/feet towards the fan/room-cooler. This symptom is there from the very beginning and continues after Puld/Sulph.

Though the wheather here is not so hot now, she insists on having the room-cooler switched on before she goes to sleep. We usually switch it off after she is asleep. However she wakes up after 2-3hours of sleeping and switches it on again herself. Sometimes she does it silently and we do not even notice when she has done it. But sometimes she cries and makes us to switch it on. Ealier on too, she used to increase the fan-speed herself (or made us do it by the way of crying)

Sometimes she wakes up around the mid-night. She keeps crying for five minutes and does not reply to our queries. But when we ask if she wants to pass urine, she immediately stops crying and sleeps immediately after we take her to the toilet. This too is not a new symptom.

puneet last decade
how regular is the waking /crying /urination around midnight?

what is quantity urinated at this time?

John Stanton last decade
Not very frequently. About once a week.

Do not know how much she urinates at that time. Though she does not take long. Which might indicate that the quantity is not much. And because she cries for five minutes, she is probably not in a hurry to urinate.

Normally when she wants to utinate during the night, she wakes us up (without crying) and is in a hurry to goto the toilet. This happens about twice a week.

During the daytime too she is in a hurry when she wants to urinate.

puneet last decade
3-4 months back she used to sometimes complain of burning sensation in her urinary organ. This normally happened before sleeping (after dinner). She used to be fine once we put some cold water there.

Hi,
your child is having what is considered epilepsy in USA. The treatment you gave her so far obviously does not work, because she's still having spells.
Epilepsy, if left untreated, progresses and leads to mental deterioration and lower quality of life.
Your child needs less stress in her life, cause stressful situations, whatever the stress is, emotional, mental, physical, trigger spells.
If she wants cooler temperature for the resful sleep, it's your duty as a parent to provide her with that comfort.
I would also suggest taking her to a neurologist for cosultation.
The earlier beginning of epilepsy treatment has much higher success rate.
Do not underestimate the situation,it could be a matter of life and death, really.
Good luck to you little child.
