Hi, Amalia -

I wish I had some words of comfort that would help you at this point. I have no doubt that your brother is experiencing his own personal kind of hell.

Perhaps this is his turning point, Amalia. Perhaps this is the 'bottom' that he will have to hit. We have no way of knowing that.

Just be ready to respond if he wants help, and be willing to stand back and not try to take over his recovery. His recovery has to belong to him, and he has to do the work. Just ask him, 'How can I help?' That still allows him to stay in charge of his own fight, but he will know that he has your support.

This is so hard on all of you looking on, I know.

But, Amalia, I do not believe it is EVER too late. God's timetable cannot be anticipated.

Thank you for continuing to post here. I do care, and every recovered alcoholic out there cares about those who are still drinking. Part of us is with them because we remember what we went through, and what we had to lose before things got better.

I'm saying prayers for you, your brother, and his family. Please let me know what happens in the next few days.

Stay strong -

Tracy

Having never touched hard liquor myself throughout my life, I cannot visualize the living hell that an alcoholic must undergo in the state that your brother is now in.

He is constantly in my prayers and I am sure that those who read this thread all wish him well.

If only he can be persuaded to use the Arnica therapy regularly, he will discover that it will give him added strength to overcome his disease.

Thank you !My brother is not compliant with Arnica therapy even I call him to remeber .The Dr give him a new drug on the USA market, acaprosate, that will restore chemical imbalance from the brain and will reduce craving for alcohol. But the treatment must start if the patient is sober for minimum 4-5 days, and this is a problem for my brother. And the treatment must be accompanied by the AA meetings.Today he told me that is stop drinking and I try to bilieve him .Thank you again for your prayers. Hi,
My brother is not a good exemple for Arnica CH 3, because he took the remedium just for a few days.He took for a few months Campral and Lexapro from the family dr, [all with large amount of alcohol-] He was very sick.
Now, after he broke his wrist, anr refused to take any medication for pain, he is sober for 3 weeks.
Because this time was my brother's decision to stop drinking.
He told me that is important to pray and to want to stop .

And he had some acupuncture sessions, with good result and now he will have a cranio-sacral therapy session, for addiction.
The way is long and no easy, but you will be ok.
GOOD LUCK !!!!!

Hi, Amalia -

It's nice to know you are still around. I don't get over here very often these days.

I'm glad your brother is seeking additional help for his alcohol addiction. I hope it works for him.

Did he stop going to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings?

Take care, Amalia. Your brother is lucky to have you for a sister.

Thank you Tracy,
How are you?
I am very happy for my brother but I am always afraid for a new day.
Unfortunately, my brother stoped meetings AA.
Maybe he will restart going.
He was in jail , he stop drinking for a month after that experience, he took RN lincense and he worked in a hospital until he broke his wrist, but in this time he was drunk almost all the time but, after the accident, he stoped to drink and I thanks GOD for this and I hope with all my heart that he be well for a long time...
I have a good chance to move close to him, maybe this year.
Good luck to everyone.
Thanks again, Tracy.
