Any cure for alcoholism?

My wife has been an alcoholic for several years. She is seeing a psychiatrist, a psychologist and an MD. She goes to several Alcoholics Anonymous meetings per week. She has been through two inpatient recovery programs, lost her career and been in jail for a DUI. She just got out of a 28 day inpatient program on Monday and tonight got drunk on Listerine. She desperately wants to quit drinking, but no matter what she tries, she still drinks. Does anyone know of a homeopathic remedy that will reduce her cravings for alcohol?

I have no cure. They say that AA is the only way. I just wanted to tell you that you are not alone. I have suffered through my fathers alcoholism for 35 years. There are many of us who have been effected by this pathetic disease. I can only suggest that if you have children try to not let it effect them.Get them into counseling ASAP, and buy this book...Adult children of alcoholics. The alcoholic can actually make others in his or her family very sick. Good luck!

Medicines reduces the craving of alcohol but your will power playes an important role unless you attempt practically no medicine will help you.Keep yourself busy in your daily sufferings.Avoid too much thinking worries.Pray to god to help you.I read a book the writer claims that his habit of drinking too much alcohol was removed by praying and then he wrote a complete book if you want to read that book i can provide you the name of the book.

dear really tired, i don't know where do you live... but change of place is a best option for her for the time being. apart from medicines, she needs to divert her attention at something else..yoga and meditation are best..it is taught in many places...if you are in india i suggest you to take her to isha yoga center at a foot hill in Tamilnadu state. It is such a beautiful and no words can explain that wonder. you can type ishafoundation in google and get into their site. they have yoga centers in many places around the world.

Homeopathic medicine, you can try with Mr. Joe's Arnica 30c wet dose. it helps in suppressing the craving for alhohol. have a look at the theread http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/65284/

i pray for her speedy recovery from that devastating evil.

I do hope there is a remedy that will help.

As a recovering alcoholic for 28 years (as of yesterday), I believe in the power of AA and other 12-step programs. My father got sober thanks to AA, and so did I, with a whole lot of help from God.

A good AA sponsor can be critical – someone who will recognize all the baloney (lies, excuses) that alcoholics tend to throw out to confuse the issue. And for the most part, I would not see a counselor who was not a recovering alcoholic for precisely the same reason. In this case, “it takes one to know one”.

I think there are three things crucial to taming the alcoholism “demon”.

If you are an alcoholic, your desire to experience what it might be like to be normal has to be greater than the desire to stay where you are. And that may not happen until the alcoholic loses everything they hold dear, including spouse and family. An alcoholic must want to quit drinking for the right reasons. You can’t quit because somebody else wants you to.

If an alcoholic is unwilling to get honest with themselves and others, their chances of recovery are slim. You literally have to be willing to bare your soul and look at yourself honestly, and continue to do so for the rest of your life. We alcoholics create a network of lies, deception, and excuses so that we can continue to drink. Getting honest with yourself is one of the most frightening and most liberating experiences you can have.

The spiritual aspect of recovery cannot be over-emphasized. Most people desire a spiritual connection, whether they realize it or not. If you don’t have the willingness to be connected to a “higher power” in some aspect, then you will miss out on some of the best that sobriety has to give you. And without spiritual guidance, you may tend to feel like nothing more than a drunk being deprived of alcohol. And drunks deprived of alcohol end up drinking again.

I, too, pray for your wife's recovery.

I am copying my post on the use of Arnica 30 in the wet dose which has helped many alcoholics for the last 18 months since I first used it experimentally on a friend here in Colombo who responded positively and does not drink any more.

Re: alcoholism From Joe De Livera on 2006-05-28
I have been successful in helping chronic alcoholics to stop their desire for that next drink with Arnica 30c in the wet dose taken 3 times daily.

I believe that Arnica helps to supress the craving for alcohol in the same manner that it help chronic smokers many of who have quit after in one case a half century of smoking.

The Wet Dose is made by inserting 3 pellets of Arnica 30c into a 500ml bottle of spring water and after it is dissolved you shake the bottle hard to ensure bubbling and a dose is a teaspoonful taken in this case thrice daily.

Your brother seems to be a good test case for Arnica as you state that he has sometimes stopped drinking but is compelled to start again.

Let us hope that the Arnica can help him to quit his habit permanently. Arnica will help him by promoting deep sleep and this may be the way it helps both chronic Alcoholics and smokers to quit.

Please post his response on this forum.

This is a very interesting topic because your solutions or homeopathic remedies recommended might also work for my husband. I am really tired of his gambling. He also drinks but he is not an alcoholic. He drinks while in the casino because they are given drinks there. Unfortunately, while in Ann Arbor, MI to pick up football tickets allotted to him/his family for many years, drove our older Buick w/c was giving as trouble. He got thirsty and drank some wine he had in the car, then the engine was smoking which attracted the cops, and he was arrested. Now he has a breathalizer attached to our Dodge CAravan and the car won't start without him blowing on it first and subsequently thereafter according to how the instrument was programmed. He hates it. Anyway, my dear husband seems to have a gambling addiction even before we got married. He lost a million dollars trading commodites in one week. I watched him lost $250,000 trading S&P Index as he put up his own small trading company so he could trade locally. I have been with him to almost all the well-known casinos in the U.S.A and the Bahamas and the Phils. where I am from. His reasoning is that he has really this good system that works and everytime he is trying to improve it and that he one day is going to write a book on how to beat the casinos.
He came from a family of substance. His grandfather put up a machine shop and was doing business with Henry Ford of the Model T. His father succeeded the grandfather in running a successful business. My husband at 12 yrs. old was asked to help out in the manufacturing company which he hated and he also hates his father's tyrannical attitude as he was always domineering and tried to belittle him. His mother was subservient to his father's wishes which he hates as he claimed she never did something to defend him. He wanted to be a doctor but his father angrily pointed at his nose and said ' you will be an engineer' He is an only son and he is an angry person. Angry at his parents, his only older sister who he claimed hired neighborhood boys to beat him up. He is hyper and argumentative with others at times that I also think that he might have a bipolar disorder. He turned over the company to his 3 sons and the ended up suing each other, the older against the 2. Because of that millions went to the lawyers and the company could not survive the downturn as they are suppliers of the 3 auto companies here. He blames his parents, his sister, and now his sons.
I was afraid we will end up in the poor house so I managed to have control of whatever assets we have and the money that comes in every month. I had to stop using my checks though as he would take the liberty to get one or two and cash it.
I also have maintained a separate bank accounts ever since and I pay my taxes separately. There is still some money that comes to him but I suspect that he goes and gambles that away as he still asks me for money. I am getting really tired of his gambling and his anger towards his family and his very critical attitude towards some sectors of society. Will the arnica 30C work for him? I appreciate all feedbacks.
Once again, I thank God that I found this forum that was shortly after all my mds/specialist was talking about kidney transplant and I was feeling bad as I don't want one. I would not give up and thought there might be a solution and I came across ABC's website - perhaps the answer to my prayer and to my Faith. This website gave me hope and helped to make my faith stronger everyday. It is just fitting and proper that on this day the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ - I should wish all of you expert homeopaths and members of this forum all the blessings and love that Christmas brings. May the love of Jesus surrounds you and protect you and guide you in your quest to heal and in your quest to be healed and in your daily lives with all your loved ones and friends, etc. My warmest thoughts and best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a very Happy and Prosperous New Year!!!

Dear reallytired

What I understand is the she isn't comfortable, she wants to disapear from the earth,in other words she want to kill herself. first thing is that an alcoholic need the support of the people that surround her and then activities to use her time when she is lucid. OK I recomend you the following remedies: Syphilinum 200c one dose now and other 15 days after. and Crotalus Horridus 6c every 3 hours.
But you have check her and give the more comprension and love that you can, this battle is for both.

I tend to drink too much. Part of the problem is the label. When you label yourself an 'alcoholic', it becomes your identity. First, step is to label yourself as a person who has a problem with alcohol. Then the problem doesn't become your identity.

Alcohol Freedom Hypnosis course has helped enormously. It is hypnosis and works very well. Especially at getting at the reasons why you drink...the positive intention and then resolving that so you still get the positive intention without the alcohol.

Also, I recently discovered the herb Kudzu, that has been used for a very long time in China for anti-alcohol.

And the nutrional support is very important. Combating low-blood sugar for example. An excellent book on this is, 'Seven Weeks To Sobriety' by Joan Mathews Larson PhD...Formerly titled Alcoholism- The Biochemical Connection.

Finally, The Sedona method of emotional releasing has worked well for me...Especially the tape on Polarities...being ok with drinking (as much as you are) and being ok with not drinking, as much as you can be. This eliminates the resistance that comes from addiction...it elimates the struggle.

Last thing...usually people drink to escape---there lives, or a problem, etc. Listen to Abraham-Hicks, and watch the movie 'The Secret' to realize that you create everything in your life...and you can create something different...it starts by feeling better now in this moment.

Babyraj

Thank you for digging up this very old post on treating Alcoholism dating back to May 2006 when I first recorded my discovery on the ABC.

I am glad to read your statement:
'Ihave overcome the cravings for vodka'.
I shall be interested to learn from you the details of how long you used Arnica 30c, presumably in the dry pellets, before you discovered that you did not need that shot of Vodka. Many of my patients have reported that they discovered that they lost the urge for that next shot in just a week.

You may like to know that I first discovered Arnica way back in the early '90's and it was in 1997 that I found that I benefited from its daily use which I have maintained right up to last night for the last 17 years. I take a teaspoonful every night just before bed and at age 84 I can reassure you that it has done me a world of good in maintaining my body at a level of wellness that no other drug or tonic could have possibly done. No Diabetes, Hypertension (High Blood Pressure), Cholesterol and Triglycerides normal and No aches and pains which are the price of the advancing years.

There is absolutely no possibility of Arnica causing any damage to your body as I am living evidence that it can only do one a lot of good and that at very little cost.

You are invited to visit my website and read the treatise on Arnica on:

ARNICA THE MIRACLE REMEDY
http://www.joedelivera.com/?p=66

Please follow the instructions below to make the Wet dose of Arnica in the potency that you wish to use which in your case you can continue at the 30c as you have used it with success to QUIT drinking Vodka.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in the Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done at least 6 times before sipping a capful of the bottle as prescribed.

Please follow the following restrictions which are essential to ensure that the remedy prescribed is not antidoted:

Do not use Coffee, Cola beverages, preserved foods like sausages, ham and bacon as they contain Saltpeter.

Respected Joe De Livera sir,
Its day No.6 for me being sober by arnica 30c wet dose. But for the last few hours my inner thirst for vodka has got up again.but so far under control. please advice me sir .

I believe that it is now time to use the Arnica 6c which is the correct potency for you.

You already know how to make the Wet dose which is referred to above on this page and take Arnica 6c thrice daily and report your response.

DO NOT TAKE that next shot of Vodka as you will undo all the benefit that you have derived by taking the Arnica 30c you have taken for the last few days.
