Hair Loss And Massive Dandruff In Teen!!! Page 2 of 2

Hi LucyB22,

I have had the exact same problem for many years now and I have not been able to find a solution. My hair has been thinning gradually over the past few years but I've had this 'residue' issue for quite some time.

When I scratch my head I get this somewhat oily white skin residue under my finger nails, the only thing that has helped relieve this is shaving all my hair off. This is a very sad solution as I used to have long hair up until my early 20's when my hair started thinning to the point where I was not comfortable with the way it looked.

Please if you find anything that helps this relieve this problem let me know.

I'm not sure how old this is, but it sounds like you all have classic symptoms of a stressful lifestyle, try calming yourself down, take a nice long relaxer.

Stress can lead to hair-loss, but being calm isn't a cure all.

When I was in 6th grade, I got steroid shots and steroid cream for my scalp because I have alopecia areata, and that helped immensely.

I'm a sophomore now and I have a distinct bald spot on the back of my head, but I'm not going to go through the shots again, if the spot get's bigger I'll just shave it.

Hello, i am a 19 year old male who has suffering from a quick hair loss n dandruff.
my side already empty n on front and on top i m losseing hair very quickly as i m very worried..

The hair loss started Roughly on Dec 2004/Jan 2005,and i was washing my head everyday with shampoo. So i stopped and i thought everything would go back to normal. It didn't and im still losing my hair and i notice it is getting a bit thinner.

My dad is bald, although he started balding in mid 20's. My Grandfather is bald, started as well and many others as well....

i used many shampoos for dandruff in the start but still everything was same.

I then went to another dermatology center and i got a perscription to another shampoo, Clobex. This shampoo i had to rub on a dry scalp and leave for 15 min and wash off everyday. It really helped with the dandruff, itchyness but the hair loss i dont think that much. So i used about a bottle of it and i stopped using it for like 3-4 days and the dandruff came back again! (Although i dont feel itchy).

I am a average guy (5.9 ft, around 85 KG).

IF there is anything else u want to know i will b happy to answer you that and i hope you will find a good remedy for me

thank you
fahad

You said your father, and grandpa has the same problems. Maybe genetics? Also, use head and shoulders, And see if their is anything you do, to get dandruff. Maybe it's from your pillow? Your hair rubs off the dandruff once, and it keeps going into a repeated cycle. So, Get head and shoulders, Apply EVERY NIGHT, before bed, and wash your pillow, and sheets. About the hair thinning, i'm not sure, but i'm about 90% sure it's in your genetics.

top five herbs which are used as alternative treatment against hair loss:

1. Saw Palmetto extract

The use of Saw Palmetto has been found to lower dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which is a precursor to the gradual reduction of hair follicles.

2. Nettle Root Extract

In Europe, this is popularly known as alternative medicine in treating Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia. Research shows that there is a link between hair loss and prostate problem.

3. aloe vera

Indians and Native Americans have long been using aloe vera as treatment for their hair.

4. Henna

This is a native Indian herb which is used as hair conditioner. Henna strengthens and repairs damaged hair while it seals the cuticle to prevent hair fall.

5. Essential oils

Using essential oils for routine scalp massage is effective for preventing hair loss and promoting healthy hair. The combination of lavender extract, sesame oil and almond oil nourish the scalp and enhances follicular production.

Hope this helps.
