This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Since Dr S C Madan has not responded to your post I would like to refer you to the discussion on this thread on Nat Phos 6x which many have used successfully for shedding weight.

The many reports that I have received from grateful users is that they have lost around 1 kg per week using just 2 tablets of Nat Phos after 2 meals daily.

I would like to add some comments on the use of cinnamon, if I may. Cinnamon contains Coumarin which is toxic and can damage the liver if used indiscriminately. Fortunately, Coumarin is oil soluble but not water soluble. A simple way of preparing Cinnamon for use is to infuse about 5-6 sticks of the spice in lukewarm water for at least 4 hrs. The infused tea can be stored in a bottle and kept in the fridge. About 3-6 tablespoons can be used each time - added to drinks etc.

By the way, it is better to get the True Cinnamon (Sri Lankan variety called cinnamomum Verum or C. Zeylanicum)instead of the Cassia Cinnamon, the one that one commonly finds sold in shops. The former contains less Coumarin.

To Cjuan

Thank you for the information on Cinnamon of which Cinnamomum Zeylanica is home grown. This statement is literal as I have a huge tree, about 40 years old, right out of my window in my garden in the heart of Colombo where I live. The leaves have an interesting scent when crushed but it is the bark that is used for culinary purposes.

I would like to add that if the patient presents both Diabetes and Hypertension, Cinnamon is not the remedy as it will increase BP by about 10mm within a few hours.

For the record, the Cassia Cinnamon is of no use whatever.

Other remedies for Diabetes are;

Okra aka Ladies Fingers. A tender pod is cut up into 1' sections and immersed in water overnight. The water is slimy the morning after and it also helps to bring down the BS levels.

Arnica 6c in the Ultimate remedy and I have a patient who presented a BS level of 535 and only used my Joepathy twice daily and his BS level is 100. He surprised me a few weeks ago by not taking the Arnica for a week and when he tested his BS level he discovered that it was just 104. It can be assumed therefore that his Pancreas as been kick-started to perform.

It seems a pity that my discovery in 2005 of Arnica to help Diabetes has not hit the world's news headlines as although I have tried to interest the world media they are just not interested as Big Pharma will stand to lose Billions in revenue if Diabetics switch over to a few drops of Arnica to activate 500ml water which they can use for about 3 months.

Thank you for the information and clarification. I've used Cassia cinnamon on numerous occasions but it has no effect on my glucose levels.
I am grateful to you for pointing out that it can raise BP as I wasn't aware of this. BTW could you provide a homeopathic remedy for high BP?

I can't find Cinnamomum zeylanica or C.verum here where I live, unfortunately. The market is flooded with the Cassia variety. I would like to add a word of caution on its use further to the earlier one posted about the Coumarin content. Casia cinnamon is locally called 'Kayu Manis' literally,'sweet wood')

Cassia cinnamon is extremely 'heaty' (a term used popularly in both Singapore and Malaysia) which I think corresponds with the Ayurvedic term 'pitta' and to the term 'pyretic' as used in Aromatherapy. Both the bark and leaves are pyretic or high in pitta and one has to filter off the dregs or undissolved sediments from the powder after infusion/dedoction as it often causes contact dermatitis on the lips and mucus membranes following oral ingestion. This has happened to me on occasions, which is why I use Cassia cinnamon sticks instead.

Hi Dr de Livera,

Thanks for the suggestion to try Okra. Oh yes, I have tried this a few times but did not get any positive results. I've tried many, many Indian herbs and remedies before - curry leaves, neem, Tulasi, Moringa seed powder, fenugreek, ivy gourd (kundru), vinca or periwinkle, Andrographis Paniculata (Nilavembu) coriander seeds, velvet beans, banana hearts, mango leaves, jackfruit leaves, Anonna leaves, Cassia auriculata flowers (avaram poo), Karela leaves, fruit and seeds (bitter melon), Bael, ginger, turmeric, Amla and including the famous sugar-killer called Gymnema sylvestre (Mesharingi) but they did not make any difference to the glucose level.

Over the past ten years, I have searched both Chinese and western pharmacopeia - the only two that helped was Banaba (Lagerstromia Speciosa)and Artemisia but the amazing effects did not last. The same happened with Artemisia capillaris(the variety used in TCM)which by the way can raise BP via blood viscosity so is best left alone.

So, I am delighted to have come across your discovery and recommendation of Arnica 30C. I bought both 6C and 30C and wonder which I should start to use first.

I sincerely hope it will work this time and will end my ten year long quest in alternative and complementary medicine! I will surely let you know whether it will produce any positive results.

When testing herbal remedies or alternative/complementary medicine, I try to stick to 3 basic criteria:

1. Is it locally available?
2. Is it cheap or affordable?
3. Is it convenient to prepare and/or use?

It is pointless going for something that is expensive to obtain, or one that has to import all the time from another country and one which takes hours to prepare in the kitchen.

'BTW could you provide a homeopathic remedy for high BP? '

I have had some success with reducing the BP of a few patients with:

Nat Mur 6x dose 3 tablets taken thrice daily for a week and reduced to twice daily thereafter.

This remedy is another which is NOT listed in the Repertories and MM's for Hypertension and qualifies for the term 'Joepathy'. I have experimented with it on 6 patients who were known Hypertensives so far and all except one responded with standard low pressure of 120/80 within 48 hours.

I can see that you are a patient who has an open mind and I presume that you suffer from Hypertension. I would recommend that you too use it and report progress in 48 hours. It is essential that you have your own BP Gauge and the Digital variety are available here in Colombo for around $75.00.

I shall await your report of your response to the Arnica 6c for your Diabetes in the Wet dose. I have found that the 6c is marginally more effective than the 30c.

Your BS level should come down by about 20% within 24 hours.

You may not use any other remedy when you are using Arnica for Diabetes and you can use the Nat Mur 6x after we have your BS levels recorded.

I shall copy the reply that I sent you by email in response to your question below:

'Yes you may use normal tap water after boiling and cooling to make the Wet Dose with any Homeopathic remedy.

The Chlorine is released from the water at around 90C and renders the water neutral.'
