Eczema 3 yrs old daughter

My daughter has been suffering from eczema since she was 1 month old. She had severe form of eczema and had cradle cap too. Initially we started out with cortizone steroid cream and moisturizers. When she was 3 months old, we went to India and started homepathic treatment for her. The homeopathic doctor was giving her Rhustox 200 + Apis 30. She was in India for almost 3 months. By the end of her India trip, her rashes were almost gone. Once we returned to US, after sometimes her rashes started re-appearing. The medicines that worked in India stopped working here. Once in a while we had to use cortizone whenever there was a serious outbreak otherwise we mostly managed by using moisturizers(eucerin). We also continued with the homeopathic medicine. This medicine used to be shipped form India from my native place. Recently, 6 months ago we again visited India. This time we changed her homeopathic doctor. Her new doctor asked us to stop all non-vegitarian foods and chocolates for her. He prescribed her a bunch of medicines that I will be listing below. This time also, her rashes vanished by the end of her 3 months India trip and once she returned to US, after sometime it started re-appearing. And, again its the same old story. Needless to say that neither my daughter gets sound sleep during nor us. Whenever we talk to her doctor in India, he says that the treatment that he is providing will only cure her eczema. We are not seeing any improvement but still we are continuing with his prescription. The medicines he prescribed are below
1. Dermisol - 10 drps * 2
2. Purazen - 1 tblsp * 2
3. Adel 12 - 10 drps * 2
4. Calendula Mother Tincture - used to mix with her bathing water.
5. Some pellets not sure what all medicines were in that. When I tried to enquire he told me it was sulphur.
6. Sulphur 30C - 3 pellets thrice a day. He recommended this once her rashes started reappearing. We didn't notice any improvement.
7. Echinacea - 5 drops twice. This we continued for 2 weeks.
We did a common allergy test and she is not allergic to anything. We did notice that her eczema outbreaks mostly happen when there is sudden change in weather or when it is too hot or cold. I am allergic to Sulfa group of drugs and my wife doesn't have any known allergy.

We don't want to go back to steroids and we are kind of dead end with her current homeopathic doctor. Please suggest what should we do.

Regards

Thanks for responding Rishimba.
This is regarding my daughter who is 3 years old.

1. Describe your main suffering?
-- She is suffering from eczema. She gets rashes usually at her hand and leg joints, on her shoulders, face and ear joints, neck and back too.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
-- No other physical problem.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
-- She is just 3 yrs old. One can simply imagine her sufferings when in the middle of the night she wakes up and tells that her body is itching.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?
-- She had been suffering since she was 1 month old

6. Which time of the day you are worst?
-- Typically eczema worsens during night.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?
-- She is not allergic to any food items. As per our observation, her eczema triggers mainly because of weather change. If the weather is too hot or cold, then also her rashes increases. Sometimes she doesn't have rashes during daytime/evening but all of a sudden they appear during night time. Sometimes, when she is outdoors she is fine and as soon as she is indoors rashes start appearing.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
-- Hard to say.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.
--She is a very pleasant girl and mostly keeps herself busy with her toys or playing around. She is stubborn at times that I believe is very natural with kids. She has a doll with which she plays, talks and takes it to bed along with her. She is quick learner. She is a reserved kind of girl and takes her own time to mingle with strangers. She is afraid of animals/birds but slowly she is getting over that fear.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?
-- She likes non-veg, ladyfinger, soyabeans, rice and chapattis. She rarely eats vegetables.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?
-- Less

14. How is your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?
-- Less(mostly)

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?
-- Normal

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?
-- Once during night. Tight and of yellow color.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
-- If she has rashes then she sleeps at a stretch for 2-3 hrs. In that case she sleeps well during early morning hours. If she feels better then she sleeps through whole night. Generally she sleeps around 10:30 - 11 pm and wakes up late around 11-11:30 am. She sleeps mostly on her side.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?
-- From 3 months till she was almost 1 yr old : Rhustox 200 and Apis 30. The rashes almost disappeared while she was in India. After returning to US, it used to appear once in a while. Later on there was some gap in the medicine and there was no visible effect of the medicine afterwards. We continued the medicine until our next trip to India and that was around 6 months ago.

-- Since last 6 months, she is taking following medications
1. Dermisol - 10 drps * 2
2. Purazen - 1 tblsp * 2
3. Adel 12 - 10 drps * 2
4. Calendula Mother Tincture - used to mix with her bathing water. After bath, we were using boro-calendula powder as suggested by doctor.
Her rashes were all gone till she was in India. Once she returned to US, she was fine for first two weeks. The rashes started appearing and disappearing and for last one month the rashes are very persistent. The current medication is not working at all.

22. What major diseases are running in your family?
-- Both of us had some skin problem in my childhood but that got fully treated by homeopathy only. I am also type-2 diabetic. My wife's mother has thyroid and her father is diabetic and heart patient.

which city in US are you staying now.

how is the overall climate there for the last one month there compared to that of india where u stayed earlier.

do you think the new place here is having a difference in humidity and temperature to the ones in india.

do you know which remedy treated your skin problems earlier.

rishimba last decade
We are living in San Pablo, California. The weather was very hot in the last week of august and first week of september with bad air quality warning as well. The hagometer that we have at home, always displayed a humidity above 62%. SInce last week, its typical bay weather, generally warm to hot during daytime and cold during nights. As we stay closer to the bay, its mostly windy.

I believe compared to India, the weather over here is drier and most probably that is aiding to her eczema outbreak. She was in India during peak of summer so she has been through higher temperatures than here. But definitely weather is a major factor for her eczema.

Another thing that I would like mention is that we use fan during night even if it is too cold. Typically night temperatures are around 60 F.

My homeopath gave me some herbs mixed in mustard oil to massage all over my body. I used to get something like heat blisters all over my body during the onset of rainy season. My wife used to get some rashes on her fingure joints during summer. She also doesn't remember the medication. Also, generally in India, homeopaths rarely reveal their medication.

Thanks and Regards

ursraj last decade
I forgot to mention that for the last 6 months we are not using any moisturizing cream for her as her homeopathic doctor suggested. We are using ghee to massage her 3-4 times a day.

the two remedies coming close to the modalities are

1. ARS ALB
2. CLEMATIS ERECTA

please try one by one.

start with 12c potency four to six hourly and as soon as you note esponse, make it thrice a day till the time all rashes are cured.

rishimba last decade
Shall we stop her current medicines?

How many pellets we have to give in a dose?

I believe we are anticipating a positive response before lowering down number of doses?

For how many days we should try before switching to next medicine. What should we do if the eczema rashes increase?

Also, can you please suggest any retail store in US where I can find these medicines.

ursraj last decade
yes, you need to stop her current medication as they are not working.

one dose would typically consist of 3 or 4 drops in some 20 ml of water sipped sowly. if you buy pellets, one dose would be some 2 to 3 pellets under the tongue.

if you see positive change, lower doen the dosage. if you see that the rashes are increasing, you need to stop any further dosage of the remedy and inform me.

if after giving one remedy for a week doesnt show any reaction in the next 10 days, you can switch to other remedy.

i am not aware about the retail shop where you will find the stuff. you need to find it out yourself.

Hi Rishimba
I got the medicines yesterday and gave her the first dose of CLEMATIS ERECTA this morning. I will continue with this one for one week check for the results and will inform you accordingly. Another thing that I noticed on the drums of the medicine that for CLEMATIC ERECTA its mentioned ITCHING and ARS ALB it is FOOD POISONING. What these exactly mean?

Thanks

ursraj last decade
please ignore what is written on the package.
these are the general indications meant for common people so that they can select the remedies.

please start with clematis erecta as suggested.

rishimba last decade
I've started with Clematis Erecta and have already gave her three doses. I did notice a slight increase in her itchiness near knee joints after 2nd dose but for now discounting it as the regular dryness/itchiness she gets with a change of weather. For last two days, she was ok and I do hope that she sleeps well tonight too. If the rashes continue to increase tomorrow then I will definitely need your suggestion on the next step.

Thanks

ursraj last decade
if the symptoms increase, its best to completely stop the doses till it becomes normal.

start with a regulated potency and dosage.

rishimba last decade
my dear

u have did wrong with your little innocent baby
too much medicines in this little age

classic homeopathy says to administer single rememdy with no frequent repitition
even single or infrequent doses have very good and long lasting results

i normaly start with 30 potency of a well selected remedy and i give 8 doses to be taken in moning and evening for 4 days

then a gap to see the effects of medicine
and normally medicine does its working and needs to repeated after 2 or 3 weeks

in 200 potency just single doses is enough for weeks

however i personally recommend in your case that u should stop all medicines immediately and then consult after few time

it seems that due to extreme whether of usa, your baby girl is having these skin problems, even she becomes fine after medicines in india but her problem reoccur again in USA.

just follow a good doctor who follows the basis principals of classic homeopathy

Hi Rishimba
The night went fine. Although my daughter complained a little about itching but overall she was okay. Do you want me to reduce the dosage or continue with the current one. Also, I'm giving here pellets of 12C 2Dr, two pellets every 4-6 hrs as suggested by you.

Hasnat
I really appreciate your concern. After seeing no improvements in my daughter after continuing more than 2 yrs of homeopathic treatment, I turned to this forum. The homeopaths I started the treatment of my daughter are pretty old hands in homeoptahy. Her first doctor had been practicing for more than 20 yrs and her second doctor had been practicing for generations. For none of them it was the main source of income. When we go to a doctor, we place our complete faith until its broken by the doctor and then it makes us hard to trust any of them. But I still don't want to reach that conclusion because homeopathy has done wonders to me and I believe its just matter of getting to the right person.

I really appreciate your suggestions and concerns. Looking forward to help from this forum to guide me to get rid of my daughter's eczema :)

please continue one more day with the same frequency for ane more day and note the changes tomorrow night.

once you feel that a significant relief is there and you are convinced that its the remedy which is acting, you can reduce it to thrice a day.

you are welcome

now please do care in future

Rishimba is very respectable doctor of this forum
follow his prescriptions

but just avoid to take too many medicines and frequent doses

take care

Hi Rishimba
All of a sudden, today morning we noticed a increase in her rashes. Last evening we saw some rashes on the back of her neck. Today we saw more rashes on her arm and elbow joints as well as knee joints. Also, the weather was slightly on the warmer side. As a precautionary measure we stopped the medicine. We are not sure whether the rashes are because of medicine or weather change, but if medicine is working then rashes shouldn't appear even with a change in weather. I would also like to mention that whenever her rashes increases, her body is more towards the warmer side else it normal(slightly on the colder side). Please suggest what should we do.

ursraj last decade
this peculiar symptom of getting high body temperature during eruptions is covered by PULSATILLA.

if you feel clematis is not working, you can try PULSATILLA 12C every four hours.

please give a few doses for about 2 days and see the response.

rishimba last decade
She doesn't get high body temperature. She doesn't get fever or anything, just her body gets warmer. Should we stop Clematis for two days and after that try ARS ALB for 2 days? Please suggest.

ursraj last decade
for now, lets continue clematis for some more days and check its response.

after that, we will wait for some days and go for pulsatilla.

then ars alb.

rishimba last decade
Ok will do that. Today we gave her only one dose of Clematis. We give her 3 doses everyday and from tomorrow we will continue with it for couple of days more and let you know the response.

Thanks!

ursraj last decade
Today she got more rashes. Also, the weather has become hotter too. Unlike earlier, this time her skin is not that dry but she is having rashes which are very granular in nature and whitish. Also, to keep her moisturized, we are using aveeno moisture cream for babies.

ursraj last decade
please continue clematis for a few days more and finally, if its known that its not going to work, we will change to pulsatilla.

rishimba last decade
Hi Rishimba
Today her rashes increased. Now she has rashes on her arms, elbow joints, knee joints, shoulders, back of the neck and stomach too. Her skin is also becoming drier. Please suggest. Last two nights neither she slept comfortably nor us.

Thanks!

ursraj last decade
please stop clematis.

wait for a day and then try pulsatilla as suggested.
