5 years girl suffers from eczema

Please advise me...

My almost 5 year old daughter is suffering from eczema. It started when she was 1,5 year. After homeopathy treatment (chamomilla 6 and sulfur 6) it has been cleared. Eczema appeared again when she was 4 years old. After homeopathy treatment (petroleum 6) it has been cleared again, but for two weeks only. This remedy no longer operates. Four month we trying to find proper remedy, but eczema gets worsen every day with small improvement. We do not use steroid creams, only Shea Butter and non steroidal creams (emollients). We have made blood test and it doesn’t show any food or other allergy. The blood test showed lack of vitamin D. Skin test showed Staphylococcus aureus, so we used antibiotic cream for a week. After we got skin test results, our homeopath prescribed Calcarea Sulphurica 6, bur after 5 days use (one dose in the evening) eczema got worse. Now we wet to another remedy – arsenicum album 6. I need additional opinion about the treatment of my little daughter. I would be grateful for consultations.

Now I will try to give main characteristics.
Eczema spots on the back of the knees, where thighs rub right ankle join and little spot on right top of the palm. The spots skin is red and inch intensely. At firs the spots swell, redden and cover with small pimples. Then the areas of the spots turn dry and rough. Must scratch until skin raw. Scratching doesn't helps at all. When my little daughter can’t stand inching, I get her to bath and pour her legs with warm, but not hot water. After this she fells better and the inch stops for a short period. She doesn't want to be uncovered, so I think the cold air aggravate eczema symptoms. Eczema worse on the right side of the body. Inch is very intensive at night. I noticed, that after 3 ours of sleep she starts to scratch her legs and it continuous 1-2, sometimes 3 ours, till I get her to bath and pour her legs with warm water. Sometimes she scratches her legs during the sleep and doesn't awake. I noticed that 50 off the sleep time she sleeps on left side – other on right, back or tummy. During the day my daughter is very restless, must move from place to place or doing something all the time. She likes music, dance, and exercise. She likes watching cartoon, but when she sits still she starts scratching. She likes coloring books and puzzles too. When she is moving, dancing or doing something active, it seems that she forgets to scratch. Also she likes pizza, pasta, chocolate and fish. She likes drink water, sometimes juice. I cant give her any liquid medicine or vitamins. She hates the way they taste. Her appetite is very good; she is not thin but not overweight. She has no problem with stool. She never had any fears, but sometimes she tells me that she afraid. I am asking for what, but she tells me she doesn't want to talk about it. She had two nightmares for the last year (she told me about it). She told me she was left alone and she woke up in tears. When she goes sleep she tells me, that she would think about something pleasant. She is tidy, likes to put her toys in them places after she plays or her closes before the sleep. She likes to wear skirts or dresses very much. She communicates easy with others – children and older. She is not shy. Playing with other children makes her very happy. She goes to preschool and likes to spend time there. Only thing she hates – one of the teacher. I don’t know why, but she doesn't like to stay with her. She doesn't like windy weather, when the wind blows in to her face. She likes swimming in the see, bathing, she likes water very much. She is very active in her nature, speak all the time, asks questions –why so, why not so…

Please ask for more information if necessary...

fitness 9 years ago
1. Age, weight, height
Age – 4 years and 10 month
Wight – 21 kilograms
Height – 112 centimeters

2. Physical appearance of the child e.g. thin, chubby, tall, short
My daughter is taller than her peers, quite chubby as her appetite is really good. She is light hair at the moment, but born with dark hair. I and my husband (our sun as well) are not light hair persons, so I think in future she will have dark gray hair.

3. Describe the nature of the child (shy, headstrong etc. give details)
She is very active in her nature, speak all the time, asks questions –why so, why not so… She likes music, dance, and exercise. She likes watching cartoon, but when she sits still she starts scratching. She likes coloring books and puzzles too. When she is moving, dancing or doing something active, it seems that she forgets to scratch.

4. Have the growth milestones (e.g. teething, standing, walking, talking etc. )achieved early, on time or late?
Teething, standing, walking, talking – on time.

5. What are the symptoms of the health problem?
Eczema patches on the back of the knees, where thighs rub, right ankle join and little rough patch on right top of the palm. The patches are red and inch intensely. At firs the patches swell, redden and cover with small pimples. Then the areas of the patches turn dry and rough. Must scratch until skin raw. Scratching doesn’t helps at all. Eczema worse on the right side of the body. When eczema symptoms get worse, those red patches seems to be very hot when touching. When patches become dry, feel off hotness disappears. Inch is very intensive at night. But it isn’t a rule, sometimes inch begins in the morning and lasts all day long.

6. What makes the problem better without using medicines?
When my little daughter can’t stand inching, I get her to bath and pour her legs with warm, but not hot water. After this she fells better and the inch stops for a short period. Other thing makes the inching better without using medicines – jumping, moving, and doing something active (she likes play fighting with her father or brother). When she is moving, dancing or doing something active, it seems that she forgets to scratch.

7. What makes the problem worse without using medicines?
She doesn’t want to be uncovered, so I think the cold air aggravate eczema symptoms. Worse when scratching, at night, when sitting still.

8. How is the child behaving emotionally during this problem?
At firs she begins scratching, asks me to scratch her legs. When inch begins at night she starts rub one leg to another to scratch eczema patches. When scratching doesn’t help and my little daughter can’t stand inching, she stars crying, moving from place to place, then scratching again…

9. How long the problem has been there?
It started when she was 1,5 year. After homeopathy treatment (chamomilla 6 and sulfur 6) it has been cleared. Eczema appeared again when she was 4 years old. After homeopathy treatment (petroleum 6) it has been cleared again, but for two weeks only. This remedy no longer operates. Four month we trying to find proper remedy, but eczema gets worsen every day with small improvement. We do not use steroid creams, only Shea Butter and non steroidal creams (emollients). After we got skin test results, our homeopath prescribed Calcarea Sulphurica 6, bur after 5 days use (one dose in the evening) eczema got worse. Now we wet to another remedy – arsenicum album 6.

10. What is the reason of the problem in mother’s view?
I think something is inside her body, that toxicity it. We have made blood test and it doesn’t show any food or other allergy. I believe that homeopathy is the only treatment that can help my daughter.

11. How is the child’s thirst & appetite?
Her appetite is very good.

12. What does the child like to eat?
She likes pizza, pasta, chocolate, fish, potato, eggs, soups… As her appetite is very good she eats mostly everything as we eat usual. One thing she asks me very often – pizza and chocolate cream on white bread.

13. What does the child dislike in food?
She doesn’t like porridge. I can’t give her any liquid medicine or vitamins. She hates the way they taste.

14. Is there any strong preference of taste e.g. sweet, salty, sour, bitter?
I think she prefers salty food more then sweet.

15. How is the stool & urine?
Normal, no problem with stool and urine. When she was 2 years old, she fell ill with pelonephritis, but after treatment (5 days antibiotic course) disease never repeated again.

16. How is the child’s sleep?
No problem before eczema appeared. She is not sleepy person in nature. Usually she sleeps from 10 in the evening till 8 in the morning and don’t want to sleep during the day.

17. What is the child afraid of (animals, insects, darkness, alone etc.)
She never had any fears, but sometimes she tells me that she afraids. I am asking for what, but she tells me she doesn't want to talk about it. She had two nightmares for the last year (she told me about it). She told me she was left alone and she woke up in tears. When she goes sleep she tells me, that she would think about something pleasant.

18. Where does the child sweat normally?
No sweat normally, only when moving intensively.

19. How much does the child sweat (little, moderate, a lot)?
She doesn’t sweat a lot, moderate.

20. Any problems with nose, throat, ears, chest?
As all children who goes to preschool and communicates with other children, from time to time she catches cold – complain of throat, ears ect. Those diseases are not heavy, easy treating without antibiotics.

21. Is the child normally cold or hot?
More cold than hot. From baby she didn’t like to be covered or dressed very hot.

22. Was it a planned pregnancy, if not, how did you feel on finding about it?
It was planned pregnancy and we were very happy to discover I am pregnant.

23. How was the pregnancy of the mother (morning sickness, bleeding, happy, sad, tense etc)?
Intensive morning sickness for 3 and half month. While pregnancy I felt very calm, as in nature I am active person. When I was 2 month pregnant, I fell ill with pneumonia, but cured without antibiotics. When I was 8 month pregnant, I fell ill with Cholestasis of pregnancy. I had intensive inch of palms, feet and tummy. Using prescribed medicine helped to carry my baby 9 months (almost 40 weeks).

24. How is the relationship of mother & father?
Normal relationship, no any problem.

25. What diseases run in your family (mother & father)?
My husbands’ grandfather had psoriasis, but very light form. No any specific diseases.

Please explain "...during the day she is very restless..."

Q-11: How is her thirst?

Are you using any homeopathic remedy right now. If yes, since when.

Stop all homeopathic remedies.

fitness 9 years ago
By saying she is restless during the day, I ment that she can't find comfortable activity, all the time she is moving and moving. She can't finish one activity, goes to another. Especially when inching begins. Even when she is telling me something, she stamp from one leg to another, she can't stand still in one place, moving around almost all the time.

Her thirst is normal, several time during the day she drinks water without asking to drink. She likes water. Sometimes I give her juice, she likes juice too. Cola and other drinks I give her very seldom.

I use homeophatic remedy from 1 of december. The last dose of arsenicum album 6 I gave her on Friday. No homeophatic drugs since then.

During my illness I used ursodeoxycholic acid (tablets). It doesn't cured my, but helped to made easier the symptoms.

Please stop Arsenic. Its worsening her symptom picture.

Give her one dose of Nux Vomica 200c and update me 3 days after that.

fitness 9 years ago
Who diagnosed it as eczema.

I don't think its eczema, its some allergy she has with either any food or other thing.

fitness 9 years ago
Thank you for the answer. I would like to explain usage of homeopathic remedy. When the skin got worsen, from 1 of December, our homeopathic doctor prescribed several remedies subject to symptoms. I gave her mezereum 6, urtica 6, sulphur 6, calcarea sulphurica 6 and arsenicum album 6. One remedy at a time. I gave only 3 doses of arsenicum album 6, first (7 pallets - on 12 of January, second (3 pallets) - on 15, third (3 pallets) - on 16 of January.

At the moment I haven’t got Nux vomica 200, but I have got Nux vomica LM1. Can I give her a dose of this remedy (1 pallet in a water)?

We have made blood test and it doesn't show any food or other allergy. I haven’t noticed the symptoms got worsen after taking some kind of food (nuts, chocolate, citrus fruit, etc). I consulted with allergist and dermatologist. They said, my daughter got atopic dermatitis.

LM & 200 are different things. Please give her Nux Vomica 200c.

At this time her symptoms are all messed up due to giving so many remedies.

Just give her one dose of Nux-V 200c and then we will see decide what to do.

Where do you get your remedies from.

fitness 9 years ago
Homeophatic remedy I buy in homeophatic chemist's in my town where I live (Lithuania, Klaipeda).

Tomorrow I will buy nux vomica 200, and will give a dose? How many pallets I must dissolve in a water?

vilma_ketleriene 9 years ago
Are the remedies manufactured by Boiron, if yes, they are #38 size pellets. Just one pellet dissolved in the mouth. No need to dissolve in water first.

fitness 9 years ago
Homeophatic remedy are manufactured by Parapharm, 12 grammes of granules in a little bottle.

Usualy my homeophatic doctor recommend to dissolve 3, 5 or 7 granules when potency is 6c.

To get homeophatic remedy manufactured by Bayron, would take two weeks or more.

You can just dissolve 5 granules in mouth.

No need to get Boiron.

fitness 9 years ago
Ok, will do so - will disolve 5 granules in a mouth and will report after three days, on Saturday.

Without using any homeophatic remedy since Friday, skin looks better and inch is not so bad.

As tomorrow will be Saturday I have made two last days update (tomorrow will update the third day situation).

Firs day after I gave my daughter nux vomica 200:
No visible changes during the day and night. As I have been mentioned in my last post, the skin looks calm, affected areas are red and very dry, but not swell. The itch worse at night, during the day she scratched her legs several times, but not very intensive.

Second day:
In the morning skin looked the same. During the day she was in preschool and teacher said, she felt good, didn't scratch her legs. In the evening the itch got worsens. The affected areas where thighs rub began to swell, the redness more intensive. The itch made her moving from place to place without finding comfortable position and scratching her legs intensively. Before the sleep I laid her in worm water, but it didn't help. She couldn't fell asleep for two – three hours. At least when she felt asleep, the itch woke her up every hour. In the morning she felt sleepy. The affected areas where thighs rub looked swell and very red, other affected areas – red, rough and dry.

Keep me posted of the 3rd day too.

fitness 9 years ago
The third day update:
The day she spent in preschool and teacher said unlike other days she scratched really much. In the evening something have been changed. She didn't scratched her legs at all. She felt very good, plaid with her toys, watched cartoons. For some last days her appetite was very big. The affected areas looked lighter. Only where the thighs rub and back of the knees stll red and little swell. Before the sleep she took the batch with Dead Sea salt. The night was good, she slept till 6 in the morning without scratching. Then for an hour she scratched her legs and asked me to do this. In the morning skin wasn't so dry as usual, where thighs rub and back of the knees looked rough and red because oh scratching. One more thing - the affected areas doesn't feel to be hot when touching them as before.
Will wait for your opinion. Thank you very much, and sory for my English.

Good progress.

Now just observe and give no more doses.

Update me after 3 days.

fitness 9 years ago
Understand, just observe. Will post after three days. Thank you.

vilma_ketleriene 9 years ago
As I will not have time to write tomorrow, I'm doing my update now. I have sent some photos and as you saw there is no much improvement during last three days and two nights. For some days the affected areas were getting lighter, but at the moment the improvement stoped. The skin looks red, little dry and rough. The affected areas stll don't fell hot when touching them. I have noticed her cheeks were getting red for last some evenings, especially the right one. This evening cheeks doesn't look as red as before. The itch isn't so worse as before, she scratch when she is undressed, at night and little during the day. The itch is worse on the back of the knees. The night before last was really good, she slept without scratching till morning. The last night wasn't so good. Because of the itch she woke up and couldn't sleep in for almost two hours. All this time she was trying to scratch her legs.
Her mood and appetite still very good. She likes to spend time in preschool with other children. She is full of action, if she could she would be in two, three or more places at a time. She is very impatient, when she wants something she wants it at once. When we tell her, she can't get what she want, she gets angry, goes to another room and cries. Then after few minutes she comes back and acts as nothing happens.
One more thing - for the last time she talks about killing or murdering. She told me she had a dream where someone was trying to kill her with the knife. The knife wasn't real, only a toy. When she hears something about murdering or killing on TV or someone talking, it atrack her attention at once. She doesn't talk about it with a fear, but it's little strange.
So, it's my update. Will wait for your opinion.

Her body is trying to find her own balance and control things. Its a good sign.

No more doses for now. Just observe and report back when you have time.

fitness 9 years ago
In the morning her skin looked worse then yesterday evening - affected areas used to be red and turgid. During the night she scratched her legs several times. I was fondling her legs and trying to understand how can I describe it. It felt like I was touching toad's skin, it used to be very rugged. When she woke up she started to scratch her legs again... Her mood was good and I took her to preschool.

vilma_ketleriene 9 years ago
Here how I can describe her skin condition at the moment:
- Severe Itching that affecting her sleep.
- Redness of the affected part.
- Swelling of the surface of the skin into red or skin colored welts (called wheals) with clearly defined edges. The wheals enlarge, spread, and join together to form larger areas of flat, raised skin. When you press the center of a red wheal, it blanches (turns white).

These symptoms clearly describe her skin condition.
