Hi mimo,

You can give him a single dose of Phosphorus 200c, by dissolving 2 pellets in 250 ml spring water, and giving a teaspoon from there ONCE.

Report after 2 weeks.

Dr. Sameer,

I am sorry that I am 2 weeks late on reporting on this.

My son did get the Phos 200C in the docing as you mentioned on Oct 25th. In the first few days I saw him crying almost every evening after coming from school. It could be about anything - unmet demands, fights with sis etc. He seemed more irritable than before. There were no other complaints.

After the 2 weeks were up, he started with the chest pain complaints. But he does not cry much in the evening. He did say a few days back that he was 'not feeling well' although he could not point out anything wrong with him. And he cried for a while. His eyes do get red during night just before bed, although he was clear after the medicine was given.

His appetite had come down now and he hardly eats anything that I give him during lunch time. At other times he eats just ok.

Please do advise me on what I need to do. And I will be more careful about reporting on time from now on.

Thank You, Dr. Sameer!
God Bless!

And, he is still not doing well ?

sameervermani last decade
Dr. Sameer,

He still complains of chest pain, and not feeling well once in a while but the problem is not as intense as it was before he started phosphorus. His eyes also seem red as before. His chest pain he mentions it maybe once in a while and also does not seem to affect him so much as before.

After phosphorus was given I however noticed he used to be irritable and not his usual mild mannered-self, and also weepy everyday until its effects wore off.

Even today morning after breakfast he complained of chest pain. He complained of stomach pain this evening. And 'not feeling well' - this could have been hunger though. He also said he had headache touching the backside of the head.

Otherwise he was playing with his sis. And today when I asked him to practice Hindi writing( he is good in languages) he did it for while and after that he started to say it was hard to do so (he has forgotten some letters). So I asked him to go back to basics and learn the letters once more. And at that he started to cry and was saying 'I don't feel well' but as soon as his father started to play with him, he was very happy and forgot all his complains!

Should I watch this a while?

Thank You, Dr. Sameer!

God Bless!

Also he had developed a huge canker sore on just the inside of his lower lip, and it bothered him too much yesterday and he did not eat dinner properly.

He was okay a bit today.

Hi mimo,

Give a dose of Silicea 200c in the exact same manner as Phos 200c.

Report in 2 weeks please.

sameervermani last decade
Dr. Sameer,

I have ordered the silicea 200c. Yet to receive it.

Today my son bumped his head on a chair and got a welt on left side of forehead. He cried for a while he is okay though for the swelling.

Is it okay to give him Arnica 6c for his head bump (now a size of a quarter?

Also I have a few question :

How do you treat acute symptoms that crop up while on a constitutional remedy?

Can any remedy taken to alleviate acute symptoms also cause long-lasting changes in the body like constitutional remedy? Sometimes I see a constitutional remedy like silicea 30c also given for acute symptoms. So what constitutes a constitutional remedy (vs remedy for acute /chronic symptoms)?

These questions are to satisfy my curiosity as well to advance my understanding in homeopathy which continues to amaze me each time I watch it work something like a miracle.
Only if you have the time. I know you are quite busy.

Thank You, Dr. Sameer!
And God Bless You!

Hi mimo28,

It depends. If the acute is not very severe, I would normally let it run its course, especially if the law of cure is holding while that acute came up.

For this case, you can give him Arnica 30c for the injury. Give a gap of 5 days after Arnica before giving Silicea 200.

Not every remedy has the power to act slowly for long durations, and those are the only remedies which will help in chronic diseases. On the contrary, any remedy can work for an acute problem.

Thanks Dr. Sameer!

In this case I did not give him Arnica as I did not get your message on the same evening. He says the bump hurts still a little bit, and when he turns his head too fast or someone touches it. Does it still require an Arnica or should I let him ride this one.

I did however give him ferrous phos 6X several times today as he has developed a cold. Is that okay? I have realized ferrous phos 6X really helps right at the beginning of an infection. And also to cut the duration of a Cold/inflammation short when given every 15 mins until the person feels better.

How do I treat his cold (nasal congestion, no cough)? Is it okay to give him ferrus phos 6X every 15 mins until he gets better?

I am keeping him at home, and he is generally happy and playing. There is no prob as such.

Thanks Dr.Sameer!
God Bless!

It will be fine on its own.

No need for a remedy.

Dear Dr. Sameer,

I delayed my reply as my son's chest pain problem is a once-in-a-while occurrence. His energy level is normal.

His weight is still the same as before 45 ponds approx, and he turned 7 years this Jan 1st.

The amount of food he can take in especially if I turn a movie on is as much or more than his older sister. But his weight remains the same (he has gained about 2-3 pounds since April of 2009. His energy level is not that high and nor is he of the nervous type. So I am really puzzled how the output is not proportional to the input. Okay, he might be growing tall, I have not exactly compared his before and after. But he height is as much as that of an 'average' 6-year old.

I don't want him to be fat, but I want him to grow to his
potential and be strong and energetic.

He eats the regular Indain vegetarian(dhal/beans/rice/roti/veggies/fruits) plus eggs and milk and sometimes chicken.

Can I give him alfalfa Q drops to increase his hunger? AS I see that he still picks on his food, and eats a few bites of his lunch st school, and will eat well only if I put on the movie and feed him myself.

I really would like to see him eat heartily and not pick on his food.

Do uyou think there is a problem assimilating the food that he gets? He does not have any food allegies as far I can tell.

You input is highly appreciated Dr. Sameer.

Thank You!
God Bless.

How is he doing on the original issues for which you posted ?

Alfalfa Q is not to be taken, and let me remind you that homeopathy is not a system to increase height or weight, as that is mainly decided by the genetic makeup. Any 'blocks' to the normal growth patterns that his genetic makeup allows for can be cleared through homeopathy, but it is hard to achieve anything beyond one's the genetic programming.

Dr. Sameer,

My son's complaints of chest pain has reduced considerably. I do not remember for the last whole week when he complained of this.

But he has been saying that he does not want to participate in PE classes. And his reason initially was that he was getting headaches in the sun, and when I pointed out that it is winter still and it is not so hot, he then said he 'does not feel well'. I am not sure what this is...I will try to find out once he comes back today.

He craves for chicken a lot. He has been eating lunch now that we get him these chicken sausages from Trader Joe's.

SO other than this 'I don't feel well enough to attend PE class' there seems to be no other current problems. He has mentioned this 'don't feel well' a few times at home also in the past week. He was fine this weekend though.

He does seem to tire more quickly while playing 'tag' than his other friends/siblings. Also he prefers to sit or walk around to doing anything which expends lot of energy.

Sometimes he keeps what he feels inside, and talk about it only after a few days.

Should I wait and watch?
Thank You!

God Bless!

Dear Dr. Sameer,

Hope you are doing well.

My son has developed a cold and cough since he last 2 weeks.
My other 2 children also have the same, except my son's cough has become worse since the last 2 days. His cold and cough had subsided for a while for me to think that he was okay. But 4 days back he had popsicle after a Jogathon he attended (the weather was quite sunny and hot) and then his coughing became more intense.

- He has coughing with difficulty of producing
phlegm.
- He is sniffing as though he has a runny nose. But his nose is not running.
- Last evening he also had a headache on the right side near temple. This morning he did not have the headache.
- Last evening he was coughing as though he was having difficulty bring out the phlegm. I could feel he was really trying to get a grip of that mucus that was bothering, but was unable to...
- Last night his nostrils were flaring which only happens as I have seen when he has a wheezing. And he was having troubled sleep because of his shallow breathing.
- His coughing was very severe this morning meaning it being continuous, and I felt scared and gave him 2 puffs of Asthalin(Salbutomol. It did not seem to help him too much, and only for a li'l while if at all.
- His cough does not bring out much phlegm and i could hear the wheezing sound in his upper chest .
-His eyes were red yesterday.
- His ears were really cold.
- He keeps sniffing.

He is unable to even take a nap because he coughs about every 20 secs.

His energy level had markedly improved before this cold/cough attack.

Could you plz suggest some remedy for this coughing and wheezing problem?

Thank You,
God Bless!

What was the last remedy he got and when was it ?

sameervermani last decade
Dr. Sameer,

I gave him Silicea 200C Dec 7.

And currently I am giving him Ferrous Phos 6X wet dose as he developed a fever this evening.
He is again continously coughing. But his energy level is still seems ok as he went for a guitar lesson with his dad this evening.

His headache seems to have come back (he did not have it morning) and it seems more in the front of the forehead.

He is asking me to take him to a doctor. That is not something he has done before.

PLease advise.
Waiting for your reply....

Thanks, and GodBless!

Dr. Sameer,

I had to give him 2 puffs of Asthalin as he has a bout of *severe* coughing right after I sent you the last message. Now he is sleeping and coughing has subsided very much although he does so intermittently.

He still has mild fever while he sleeps.

I have been able to avoid Asthalin since April 2009 when I came from India, Thanks to your constitutional homeopathic remedy that you prescribed.

So in the last 1 year this is the first time I have used Asthalin for his coughs. 2008-2009 while we were in India he has to use it atleast every other month. It was terrible.

Dr. Sameer, Thank You once Again for Being There for us!

God Bless!

I forgot to mention that when I kept my hand (at my son's request) on his middle back there was that wheezing vibrations I could feel. Just thought to mention it to complete the picture. Also his eyes were watering, and he had a thin secretion from nose that he kept sniffing at.

Thanks!

Hi M,

Give him a single dose of Lycopodium 30c in water, (stop the Ferr-p), and report after 3 days.

sameervermani last decade
Dr. Sameer,

We had to go to the Paediatrician in the morning today who confirmed mild wheezing. Also and he prescribed the usual FloVent (Steroids) twice a day to manage inflammation, and ProAir(Albuterol) every 4 hours.

I have given my son one dose of Flovent so far and Albuterol 2 doses.

Also about the Lycopodium, the coughing part does correspond but symptoms like 'melancholy', violent mood, peevishness, etc do not. He is quietly cheerful, tries to use his humor to make me or his sister laugh even when he is sick. Does not complain at all as far as I can remember. Agreeable. Helpful. He is really pleasant to be with. Has emotional bonding with his granddad etc. Not at all energy draining on me. And just happy to be with r even when sick. Happy reading his books/playing with toys without demanding much of anybody. And rarely he does get stubborn about something and will keep on at his demand . Also he is slow to react to things, and hence does not come off as someone who is too nervous or anxious. He is also sentimental about things.

Just thought I should mention my opinions for your complete picture.

DO you still feel Lycopodium is the way to go?

Also how would I manage both the allopathic Flovent and Proair and the remedy? Can I still give him these along with the homeo remedy? Even though I don't want him on these medicines it is managing his severe bouts of cough for now.
And I am scared if the homeo remedy does not give him immediate relief like the Albuterol.

Also is it possible to build respiratory system strength for the long-term with Natrum Sulph as prescribed in other posts? Some people testimonials say that this is curing them of asthma/wheezing when taken over longer periods.

Thanks Again!

God Bless!
M.

Homeopathy and steroids cannot be given together.

sameervermani last decade
Dr. Sameer,

I have stopped the steroids. I have given him only 1 dose (2 puffs) so far.

Can you please help with your much needed advise?

Should I go ahead with the Lycopodium 30C now?

Also he is on ProAir (bronchial dilator). Should I take him off that too, or can I give it in case the coughing gets worse?

PLease Advise.

Thank You.
God Bless!
