SICK 5 week old kitten! pls help!

My girlfriend just got a kitten a week ago who hadnt been nursed by his mother. Now he is having serious problems with his health and I dont want to go the vet route its way too costly and usually leads no where.
His symptoms are:
Stools very smelly
Gooey stool
He whines before he goes to the bathroom
He might be gassy because his abdomin is bloated
He gaged and threw up mucus (what we suspect to be) for 2 days but hasnt done it since
Now he is passing stool with blood in it.
My naturopath recommended 200ch lac-felininum 2 pellets a day for 5 days but at that point in time I hadnt known about the bloody stool.

Any help you guys can give would be greatly appreciated!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
provide soured cream--no milk -not cream but soured cream...

pulsatilla dose--1 pellet in 4 oz water-stir--1/4 teaspoon dose... and assess before any other med.

Thanks mr John,

So the pulsatilla is to be given for 16 days until the 4onzes is used up? I guess administer via syringe would be best?

And soured cream? Wont cow sugars and proteins worsen the reactions?
Just wondering...

no only 1 dose and discard rest--assess from there..

soured cream...and no processed foods...at all ..

whathave you been feeding kitten?

Thats great thanks again Mr Stanton.

So ill start giving him sour cream (the kind you buy in the containers right?)

Kitten is not eating health food thats for sure. Its a processed generic food. What do you recommend to feed him? I dont know of any health food stores for pets. =o(

soured cream set out to room temp---no processed food at all....once appetite begins resumng--then only quality fresh raw meat-not cooked at all--chopped fine for now..in fact can put some of this available now see --how takes to it or not..

Hi. Curious how your kitten is doing. I had raised a few from birth as well. Also, I had some questions.

Did you bottle feed the kitten...kitten formula, did you stimulate bowels and also burp it?

If kitten is not already well, I suggest this; get Iams kitten Chicken and Rice wet food, mix it with kitten formula (that is already mixed with water). check kittens skin on back of neck by pulling it up and letting go...this is to check for dehydration. If the skin stands for a moment, kitten is probably dehydrated and you'll need to work at hydrating... which I'll explain if it's an issue. I hope the little baby is ok....I am a cat lover. Let me know!

Hey Angel Eyes,
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Ive been having some health problems myself. (the kitten isnt the only one not breast fed) =(
But to answer ur question no the kitten wasnt bottle fed. And I have already advised her to massage the belly especially after the kitten eats. Unfortunately shes not my kitten and I dont live in the same residence so its hard to educate someone who has never owned a cat b4.
Ill let her know about ur suggestions with the food and the dehydration test. I really want to get him off of the kitten food I think thats killing his already weak digestion.
Hes now 6 weeks old and Tiger (his name) is the cutest kitten ive ever seen. =0)

awe..... I wish I was able to check him out...he sounds really cute. Well, unless he has some digestive problems he is old enough now to fight harder. They are so much more delicate when they are under 4 wks. Still he needs to be well and I hope he is ok. Thanks for writing me back... Have a great day and good luck with your kitten. Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. All the best.
