Abcess?

My 18 year old son had a sty in his left eye three months back. He also had severe prickly heat on his hands and back and ring worm like skin disease in the area below his navel. He also had nearly 5 boils in this period one after other during this time at various parts of his body viz. arm, a little above left ankle, right nape of the neck, a little above navel. He stays in a hostel studying for his engineering in western indian city. The water that they recieve for bathing is not very clean often. When he visited me a month back I gave him two doses of Sulphur 30 in pills. This took care of his prickly heat with in 2-3 days. I then gave him one dose of Lachesis 200 for a boil that he had at that time on the nape of his neck (The boils that he had were small, very painful, bluish black in colour with a tiny mouth). Lachesis suppurated the boil in 2 days time. After 10 days he again got a similar boil just above his navel. Again a single dose of Lachesis 200 did the trick. Now he is back in hostel and has once again developed a swelling below his navel-its about 3 cm in lenght, semi- hard and red in colour. Its pains to walk and sitting is extremely painful. This time it doesnt have a mouth and bigger then his earlier boils--Though I havenot seen it but I feel its an abcess(?). 2 doses of lachesis followed by a single dose of Hepar Sulph didnt help. He is now on antibiotics and painkillers for past 3 days. He is 5'7', hairy on legs and torso, very talkative and jovial, confident but with lot of anxiety, like spicy food and junk food. Can a remedy be suggested for him please.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
if hepar didnt help-

look into pyrogen

if boils occurred after stye--and stye was treated wrongly---you were right in giving sulphur--maybe given up too soon on it--not certain..

but some remedies for recurring boils--arnica,hepar,hydrastis,natrum mur, natrum sulph, ulphur, sulph iod....some others

se alot depends on tretaments use--antibiotics wil give complication --these cases hepar bes choce --and change in diet--no sweets or alcohol;no acids...as well as probiotic supplement---this need be--otherwise wrong intestinal fungi proliferation raise hell in system...so diet is manditory consideration along with right treatment...

Thanx Dr. Stanton. Do I try another dose of Hepar 200 or straight away go for Pyrogen 200. Kindly advise and if Pyrogen then how many doses. Three more questions please: 1.Since he had antibiotics till today, do i give him a single dose of Nux before resuming homeopathic traetment.
2.Will Pyrogen suppurate the abcess or supress it?
3.Will Silicea be of any help in this case?
Thanx again Dr.Stanton.

Ok John, I stand corrected! Yes John, He had intense prickly heat on his hands, back and stomach for about 10 days. He also had sort of ringworm-like skin disease on stomach below the navel- where the belt rests- in a area about 3 cm. by 5 cm. Then the Sty appeared on the inner side of the upper lid of his right eye (on the nose-ward side). A red swelling first and then the tip appeared pointing inwards towards the retina. It was painful to see downwards or opening the eye fully. Walking also gave pain in the eye. The college Doc gave him an anti allergy pill-Cetrizine-just one tab thinking its an allergy. But when the opening appeared it was diagnosed as Sty and no medication was given. It drained on its own in 3-4 days time. After this I had given him Sulphur 30.

Dear John, Since childhood he has had tonsulitis and used to get bad throat atleast once a year during autumn for which he was given a course of Roxythromycin (100 or 150 mg twice daily for 5 days)on every instance. This started at the age of 4/5 and continued almost till the age of 10. After 10 yrs of age, he has had no medication. As for other medical history he had chicken pox when he was 7 yrs old.

This was for the first time that he got prickly heat and he used Lacto calamine sparingly and a prickly heat talcum powder.

yes, the ring worm was there about 15/20 days prior to the prickly heat. Initially he didnt use anything on this. Later on he applied a skin cream called Quadriderm --a mix of 4 --betamethasone, gentamycin, iodochlorhydroxyquiloline & chrolocresol. This gives instant relief. Even I use it often. This skin problem seems to be hereditary. This ringworm he also had earlier twice on the inner side of thighs in the last two years. But on stomach he got for the first time.

He generally do not get sick but when he gets sick, its severe. Other than the above mentioned history and medication there is nothing else to mention.

John I would like to mention that his college docs decided to drain the abcess and incised it 2 days back in local anaesthesia. It was pretty paiful and the dressing yesterday was still more painful. He says they have made another 'Navel' below the navel during surgery. They have put him on antibiotic for next 5 days--Cefrixine 200mg twice daily with painkillers.

Now my concern is to stop the reoccurrence of any such abcesses. Does he need to alter his eating habits too?

To mention here, I too used to get boils and abcesses when I was his age and even now i have a tendency to get boils/ abcesses often. I take a single does of Hepar 200 instantly which suppreses them!

i am unclea about --association (if any) betwen ringworm occurance and boils --in this case boil/abcess below navel-----please explain exact sequence--when ringworm first shows?when ringworm is treated with topical appliaction of meds mentioned?when boil first shows?when 1st sign of stye appears?when skin rash (prickly heat appears?when homoepathic meds used in between here?

please establish an exact time reference or at least an exact sequencing of above mentioned info---place in proper order--and fill in dates (if known)--at least proper sequence

My 6-year-old female cat is recovering from the second surgery as to remove abcesses. Sarah's black, kind, funny, loving and somewhat egoistical. I adopted her and another female black kitten (the same age), so they were raised together. Both neededand had the same amount of affection, heed and protection, but Sarah is much stickier sometimes. My oldest female cat died on April 19 and we all have been quite sad, but Sarah has really felt it. She has been hiding and avoiding my relatives, refusing to eat and lie on the sun (she used to do it every day). The first surgery was on May 19. The second one was 11 days ago. A few stitches couldn't be removed since there's pus and infection along the scar... What can I do for my 'friend'?
