Cat with stomatitis
Anuj, continuing the thread with feral cat with stomatitis:The cat has had Nux vom for the past 4 days. There is slight clear discharge again from his nose. He is still continuing to shake his head. His mouth is clean in the mornings but by late afternoon there is white stringy saliva from the left side of his mouth.

The cat now has long stringy, yellow saliva from both sides of his mouth. Around his mouth and whiskers look dirty. He has rusty brown crusty bits at the corner of his eyes. His eyes always seem half closed. He seems more subdued than before, appetite is still good. He isnt shaking his head anymore and he doesnt have discharge from his nose.

The cat has regressed to how he was before I first asked for help. Both lips look puffy/flabby but normal pink colour. I cannot see inside his mouth. There are blobs of thick yellow saliva around bottom lip. There are black crusty bits at the corner of his mouth. Still has discharge from both eyes which dries brown/black. He looks sad and very unkempt as he has stopped grooming himself again. Not alert, easily startled. He doesnt hear me until I am right in front of him, then he is surprised I am there.

After the third dose of Nux Vom, the cat was more alert and active. Today his lips arent swollen, there is still yellow saliva but it has reduced. His eyes still have dark crusty bits and his nose has yellow discharge again. He has started to groom himself again so his mouth and whiskers look cleaner.

The cat has had 2 doses so far of Nux vom 200c, Friday and Sunday evening. His eyes are clear and bright, no discharge. There is no discharge from his nose either. His mouth looks wet around his bottom lip but there are no blobs or stringy saliva like before. He is alert and active again.

I am late with feedback because I was unable to give doses as I couldnt find the cat in the evenings. He had a dose on Thursday, Saturday and Monday evening. Both eyes have dried brown discharge in corner of eyes. His mouth also has red/brown saliva. It was thick and stringy yesterday and looked like it was blood but Im not sure. Today theres blobs on bottom lip. Hes back to shaking his head again and makes snorting noises.

There is no drool or saliva, his mouth is dry and clean. His eyes are clean and bright. He is definitely feeling better as he is meowing when its feeding time and he let me stroke his head for the very first time two days ago! He is also letting the other cats greet him by rubbing against him whereas before he would flinch away. I think his mouth is still sore when he eats because of the mouth movements he is making.

Yesterday the cat started drooling slightly again, white saliva. Today his bottom lip is wet but I dont see any drool/saliva. His nose is red with clear discharge, he has a open sore below his nose. He has been approaching members of my family to be stroked and rubbing up against their legs. He wants attention more now than before. Appetite very good but still seems to have a sore mouth as he keeps dropping food.
I have just noticed now that he has thick yellow saliva from the left side of his mouth.

In addition give Nat Sulph 6x ,5 tabs three times a day.
