Nasolabial Fold Eczema
Hi!It all started 2 months ago when I told my homeopath I had pain in my knee and at night I had pain going down my left thigh to my knee. It ached so much about 3am that it woke me up. He said it was sciatic related and prescribed causticum 30 for 7 days. Each day it felt better. About a week after that I started with a a flakiness and some redness down the left side of my nasolabial fold to my chin. It would get inflamed under the skin, break the skin, dry then flaky and repeat. Over the following weeks it spread down both sides and circling below the bottom lip. It is blood red and when it’s actively irritated it starts around 2-3am and feels like it’s throbbing and sometimes breaks the skin and leaks fluid. The throbbing and very painful. If it’s not that actively inflamed then it’s swollen around the red ring and feels like needle picks under the skin. Each night it scabs and flakes but won’t go away. I stopped the citrus & fruit but I feel itchy all over my body when I eat anything. The area on my face doesn’t itch but I feel a burning under the skin where it’s red,
I previously thought it was perioral dermatitis but my primary care doc diagnosed it as eczema and says it’s related to arthritis. He prescribed hydrocortisone cream. My naturopath says it’s an allergic reaction and tried cantharis 200 because it looks like a burn and apis 200 because of the swelling. Did the did the causticum trigger this?
Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
Thanks,
Sue K

Hi! My rash has not subsided. My naturopath advised me to go to my primary care doctor for a skin sample because he thought it looked like an infection. My primary did the lab test and it resulted that it’s a staphylococcus infection and prescribed an ointment. My Naturopath said to apply the ointment and wait and see if it clears. Are there any remedies to help clear this?
Thanks,
