John,

I did not take any immunizations when I went on my trip in March 2005.

I moved to Seattle Area in Oct 2004 so last year was my first time I went thru the grass pollen season here. Even as a child I would get some itching on top of my nose if grass is being cut, but nothing ever like this. Maybe its a different variety of grass or other pollens here thats triggering the sinus so much.

During regular antihistamine use, there may be occasions when there is increased post nasal drip or mild pressure.
I am usually feeling okay enough to do my daily tasks.

In Nov 2005, there was an exception that I had lot of pressure on my face. Pain in my teeth as well. I went to the doctor, and he said since I didnot have a cold prior to this episode of pressure so its not an infection. He did not give me any medication but referred me to ENT, which I did not see.

I took decongestant which also has painkiller (acetominophen 350mg in it) for about 3 weeks and then I caught viral fever and was sick for a week. I dont remember how the nasal symptoms were after that, so it was probably not too bad.

THanks

where did you live befoe moving to seattle?

what changes noticed sice starting use of probiotic in stool characteristics?appetite?sleep?as compared

John Stanton last decade
Prior to coming to seattle we were in Bay Area, California.

Not a significant change in
any thing sicne taking probiotics except I had started to feel uneasy in my stomach as if I would get diarohea prior to starting on the probiotics. But then it settled down.
I cannot say much about sleep since the past 3-4 days have been so busy for me that I have not had time for much sleep anyways.
Appetite also I cannot evaluate correctly, since I have been running around, so meals have not at normal times also. Hopefully after today I will be able to follow my regular routine.

since such a reaction to stopping antihitimine---showshow much symptoms in this sphere are suppressed...we need treat this area by stopping antihistimine and prescribing homoeopathically--for the acute condition hat will arise---once we stablize without antihistimine---we will access and proceed from there...you need decide if wish to do so...

John,

I am not quite clear about the treatment that your are proposing. Can you explain a bit more in detail so I can understand it better ?

It would be wonderful if I could get off the antihistamine and nasal sprays. However, I am afraid of getting the same severe symptoms like I got on this past sunday. Even now, it is there though much less...at least I am not bed ridden like I was on Sunday.

Also apart from antihistamines, what about the twitching/spasms that I have been having. How do we solve that one ?

As I mentioned earlier, couple mths ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.
Yesterday I read in a book on this malady that muscle spasms are commonly seen in such patients. Now I dont know whether Fibro or something else is triggering twitching in me, but I understand that Homeopathy treatment is symptomatic. Correct ?

see twitching and such are new compared to antihistimine use---as is the diagnosis fybro...what to say how much of this diagnosis and such is due to long term suppressive treatment by use of anihistimines....and the recent move-be it enviremental or stress of move and such --trigger --aptology into this display of smptoms...too much agrvation of antihistimine--to think not envolved in some way with symptoms experienced...thisis my thiking...you decide what wish---you can repost case ---and ahve someelse help--i am ok with that..explore your options..and let me know --and we willcontine from there...not easy path--chronic illness..healing

I understand your perspective that twitching is new & could be caused by the meds.

But thats not so for fibro. Though diagnosed as such in Feb 2006, symptoms have been there since Jan 2000. Docs have yo-yo-ed between possible Rh. Arthritis or Fibro, and finally after Bone Scan last year, finding no inflammation in joints, formally gave diagnosis of Fibro in Feb of this year.
So, Fibro is not linked to antihistamine , at least not directly I would say since I am taking antihistamine for a year only.

However, the Fibro symptoms started after my first child was born, so pregnancy stress or baby asprin ( I took that during both pregnancies..) could be factors.

Prior to pregnancies, I was quite healthy. Not sick much and not on any meds at all. Even shied away from Tylenol etc.

However I do agree that in Fibro., any and all of these could be a factor and may have build up over time.

I will mull over this a bit and let you know.

If I correctly understand, you want me to stop the antihistamines again and try homeopathic only. And my fear is that given that the current allergy season is almost here, I will get another severe pressure/pain episode which leaves me unfunctional and probably will make me run again for the antihistamine. And that would be counterproductive then.

I am not sure if taking homeopathic med would give me instant relief given that the sinus is already in a bad state, so it will probably take time to get cured. Correct ?

Also how long shoudl I be on the probiotics ? You said take it for some time...Can you please put a week/months limit on it ? I have not taken them before , so not sure how long I should do so. CUrrently teh bottle I got has enough for 60 days. Is it harmful if taken too long ?

One more question : I just read a book on Fibromyalgia. The author theorizes that its due to a disfunctional gene which does not process phosphates in the body properly and hence phosphates build up causing cell energy to decrease. Now , assuming that this hypothesis is true, should a Fibro patient take any homeopathic/biochemic meds that has phos. in it eg Kali Phos, Natr. Phos etc. ? What do you think about this ?
(Interestingly the solution that the author gives for reversing Fibro is high dose of Guaifenesin in tablet form which slowly weeds out excess phospates from teh cells.)

well--not sure where to start--as said explore your options i am not here to sell you on homoeopathy or remdy ---fibro after pregnency --ok....
probiotic ---wise to make part of diet for months --if much antibiotic use in health history...as is diet that supports healthy bacteria ...i dont have easy solution---i know by response from antihistimine stopage --that needs to be addressed...but i am ok if you dont.....i'll help you along---tink this way--if you folow my advice and AGGRAVTION COMES --YOU'LL TELL YOURSELF -'YOU KNEW BETTER....ETC'...but if search alloptions and fing no relief--then when decide--youwill be without doubt--and most like despeate...go explore---you may find what you seek---you know where i stand....ok?

I am an athlete. I paddle outrigger canoes under the Golden Gate Bridge. I don't take any medications whatsoever. I am on regular vitamins and excersise 3-5 days a week. I get night leg spasms on a regular basis. They are similar to those described and they keep me awake. I notice them when I am more than usually fatigued and/or near my menses. I also get them during trips (any travel timeframe) on planes. Am I possibly shy a hormone, have too much of one or need to add into my supplements?

Currently my supplements include Estrotone (I'm over 40), liquid B's, liquid minerals, C in powder form with other multi vitamins mixed with it, ginkyo, Gotu kola, dong quai, Wild yam, St. John's wort, Dr. Bach's rescue remedy, goji berries, raw almonds, milk thistle (for 3 weeks to clean out after a muscle injury), and bromelain on an empty stomach.

Thanks
