Gerd

I have had acid reflux for many years now. It flares up and goes away over time. I have a symptom I don’t see in other posts - the pain feels like it is in my back, right between the shoulder blades.

This week it has reached epic proportions and I am not getting sleep.

I am 62, female. Reflux generally starts after eating and flares up just before bed (10 pm). Right now it is constant. I am not very hungry anymore, though food can still be appealing. Not a lot of bloating unless I eat spicy food, which I am staying away from. No nausea or vomiting, just acid at the back of my throat, mostly when laying down. No pain swallowing. I get so anxious at night when the pain is bad, I take a Xanax. I do not smoke and am currently not drinking alcohol, but normally do. I have taken PPIs, but they have always stopped working after a week or so, and the last one just seems to make things worse, so I am stopping it. I crave salt (always) and feel like cold water will cool my esophagus. Typically I sleep from 10:30 pm to 6 am. But not much sleep this week due to reflux and pain.

Any suggestions for remedies? I have taken nux and it helps for a very short time.

Many thanks.

Little arrow

Your description is suggestive of Phosphorus.

Try it in 30c. Two doses per day for two to three days should show results.

Hi Little Arrow,

With Gerd, the root cause of diet has to be
Addressed. Food choices over time, can make
Your cells go into an acidic PH, which causes
This to happen. Cells need to have an alkaline PH.

Please google alkaline and acidic foods.
One needs to go mostly alkaline for a couple
Weeks and the cells will reset and there will be relief.
After that, you can start adding back in acidic
Things. You will know when you have had too
Much because the Gerd will slowly start again.
So you work with your body on this and learn
Things like maybe chocolate is ok once or twice
A week, alcohol once a week, etc.

Remedies will help, but food choices have to
Be right to cure this.
