Yours seems to be a chronic case of Acne which is unusual at your age and it would be interesting to observe if my standard therapy can help you.

I have since modified the therapy in the light of reports I received from patients and now prescribe Arnica 6c in the Wet dose which you will make precisely according to the instructions below. You will take 2 doses daily and will also apply the remedy water directly on your face on the tips of your fingers as often as is possible to accelerate the cure. You will take precautions not to contaminate the water in the bottle by any back flow.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in the Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard at least 6 times before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this enhances the effect of the remedy on the user.

Report progress weekly or earlier if you discover any change in your outbreaks.

Thank you SO MUCH for your quick reply! I only have one question. Once I begin this, should I wash or touch my face at all, aside from applying the remedy water with my fingertips? Or should I put away all my products and strictly use the Arnica remedy instead of any face wash?

I am asking because I am currently used to washing my oily skin a few times daily.

Thank you again! :)

You must of course STOP all other medication you are using currently for your Acne.

Hello again, Joe,

The wet dose seems to be working well, but it might still be too soon to tell. I have seen improvement with a couple trouble pimples, especially one that got really big and red, but then just went away completely after 5 days. I've never seen that happen.

But, my forehead is getting a lot more acne under the surface. Just bumps all around that area.

The other pimples I have on my face are mostly on my cheeks and chin, not growing, but not getting smaller either. Let me know if you need more specifics.

All in all, my skin looks more hydrated and happy, but still with outbreaks. It feels like I need to give it a little more time before I can really decide if this is going to work.

What do you think?

Hi - it's now 6 years later, but I'm wondering about Arnica myself now.

I'm 28 years old, and I've had chronic acne since i was a teenager, though it's become worse as I've aged.

I only have acne around my cheeks and chin and neck, and usually i have hormonal breakouts, with a few red whiteheads at a time.

I currently use Retin-A, but I'm not sure this helps immensely. I've been using Retin-A on and off for 10 years.

I've never seen a homeopath for my acne. I have light scarring as well, which when my pimples clear up (some day.....) i'd like to treat/heal.

Does Dr. Joe De Livera have any advice? Arnica 30c? Followed by Arnica 6c for maintenance?

Later, i would be interested in Silicea. This is ALL NEW to me! I'm amazed at the success stories...

Oh - I'm also confused about Arnica re: taking internally or applying externally.

Rose

You will note that this thread dates back to 2006 shortly after I had first discovered that Acne responded very quickly to Arnica. I used to prescribe the 30c but subsequent reports from patients showed that the 6c was more effective. Many reported that in just 3 days their lesions dried out.

I shall copy my default therapy which I prescribe today for Acne:

The remedy which has helped many is Arnica 6c in the Wet dose taken twice daily orally and also applied directly on the face as often as is possible to keep the lesions damp.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in a 5ml Alcohol pack aka Liquid Dilution in a bottle with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake it hard to produce bubbles. This is homeopathic succussion and must be done every time before a capful of the bottle which is the dose is taken as directed.

Please post your response to the Arnica therapy in a week.

Thank you so much!

Is the best way to get the Arnica 6c through this website?

If not, can you let me know where i should look?

Best,

I shall copy my default therapy for Acne below and this is equally applicable to PREVENT the formation of Stys which can harden into Chalazions.

The remedy that has helped many is Arnica 6c in the Wet dose taken twice daily orally, and also applied directly on the lesions on the face or on the eyelids as often as is possible, to keep the lesions damp.

It is essential that the patient takes ONE dose of the Arnica 6c nightly just before bed for at least 6 months after the problem has been resolved as there is every chance that the lesions will return during this period, otherwise.

The use of a spray device in which the medicated water can be stored and can be sprayed on the acne lesions or the eyelids without directly touching them is best.

You will not take any drugs when you start my therapy.

Do not use Coffee, Cola beverages, preserved foods like sausages, ham and bacon as they contain Saltpeter.

Please post your response to the Arnica therapy in a week.

I did a casual search of the Archives of the ABC on 'Acne' and discovered what I believe is my first case of CURE of Acne way back in May 2006 with my 'Joepathy'.

This thread may be of interest to our group of Homeopaths who will note that even as far back as 2006 I had discovered that my therapy which some of these diehard classical types had derisively labelled 'Joepathy' did in fact work in a manner that defied the classical protocol, and CURED many ailments that patients submitted on the ABC and other Homeopathic Forums.

I have inadvertently omitted to record the link to my first post on Acne dated 14 April 2006 which I now record below:

I assume you are talking about the patient Sally who was a teenager with acne.

Sally posted several times after May 2006.

25/6/2006: 'My acne on my face is doing very well, and my back and chest are...well...they still have acne, quite a bit, but it's getting better with this new stuff I've been trying called proactiv. My acne is always worse around my period I've found. I suppose acne is just a part of growing up.'

29/6/2006: 'One thing that worked pretty well for me was a solution I made. It was one part each pure Tea Tree oil, Eucalyptus oil, and Witch Hazel...I try just to put it on the affected areas of my face, as even the fumes make my eyes water for a short time. I also put it on areas that may be clear at the time, but are very prone to breakouts.'

16/7/2006:'I have a strange rash that has recently presented itself on my face. At first I thought it was just part of my acne problems...'

2/8/2006: 'I've tried so many different things for my acne, and I finally have it under control. Not gone, but under control'

7/3/2007: 'It's nice to be back. I've been pretty busy these past months. I am still taking Arnica, and my acne is doing very well'

7/3/2007: ' My facial acne has improved significantly, but I am still having some problems with my back.'

So unfortunately this does not give an example of cure using your method. Based on the conditions I gave for assessing the value of any method. It does not meet the following benchmarks:

1. No need for constant dosing
2. Underlying disease has not been left behind
3. Uncured symptoms left behind (which leads us to believe benchmark 2 is not being reached)

It also does not address the following benchmarks since none of this information was gathered and there was no attempt to assess the extent of 'cure':

3. Improvement in mental and emotional state (since none of this was recorded)
4. Breaking of chronic pattern (since none of this was recorded)

We cannot assess Direction of Cure here since nothing but the skin was discussed. She did make another thread detailing a number of emotional issues she had, but they were never talked about in this thread so tit would have been useful to see the overall effect of the medicine.

We also cannot see the pure action of Arnica, since she was using a variety of topical treatments for her acne.

In the end I think she gave us the answer as to whether this was cure here, when she said it was not gone (not cured) but 'under control', which in homoeopathy means palliated or suppressed. Genuine cure does not require constant reinforcement of the effect through dosing, and it does not 'control' the symptoms but eliminates them.
