Junior Athlete cannot play in front of power figures Page 2 of 5

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
It will help all if we read about "Problem Child". And problems children face in various age groups. It is not any ailment. I only make a suggestion.

It's 6 days now with Gelsemium. He lost and exited the tournament 3 days go. Now, he is back home. I feel these days, his tendencies of not wanting to talk in public places with adult strangers are being amplified. Maybe that's because of Gelsemium? For example, yesterday, he didn't want to go to the bank to open account because he would need to talk to someone there. It took a long time to convince him to go to the bank. In addition, he has not been sleeping well for past few days.

I forgot to mention that he got cold one night after 1-2 days of argentum nitricum.

Maybe his issues stem from lack of self-esteem? He seems too shy, timid and weak outside. Inside home, he is complete opposite.

agree , we shouldn't call it an ailment, but some areas he can definitely improve upon. It's no way to lead a life, being so anxious, hyperactive mind and timid, shy and weak outside.

No medicine for 3 days now. Its hard to say for me if anything has changed as currently he is not playing any tournaments. I did talk to him after he returned from the previous tournament. He did say that gelsemium might have helped him as he felt in the "zone" for certain parts of the 5 matches he played there. I'm thinking the 3rd match that he lost when he was extremely anxious was in the middle of an aggravation from Gelsemium.

I'm positive that this will help him; we will know in the coming days. Let me know what to do after 2 days.

He also does need help with his self-esteem (confidence in himself in general life as well as his tennis game), focus and anger issues.

Some more details about him:

Very strong physically, muscular, 5'9", 160lbs, very creative, intelligent, generally gifted kid, lefty, shy outside in front of adults, but mostly OK with kids, little reserved but opens up with kids soon. at home, is argumentative, has counter-argument for literally every thing, is a bit lazy, doesn't like to sleep, light sleeper, hyperactive brain, loves junk food and can eat in wholesale. Likes sugary, spicy and salty food. Cold drinks, does not like to eat food hot, prefers it cool. Takes too long to eat healthy food that is not tasty. He is kind at heart, immature for his age. He has lots of acne on his face. Doesn't like to put sunscreen, has burnt marks on the back of his neck and small white circular spots on his cheeks. Generally handsome kid with big eyes, his hygiene is very poor. He has lots of dandruff, but doesn't like to shampoo his hair, doesn't like to shower or wash his hands. When he doesn't sleep well and is tired physically, he can become cranky and very angry, can throw things around the house if he doesn't get what he wants when he is angry. Otherwise, generally, happy-go-lucky kid, charming with a great sense of humor.

Thanks for the help so far. Greatly appreciated!

What is his reaction towards light, sound, odour, touch, thunderstorm etc.
- Pretty neutral reaction to all of the above. He's very good at hiding his feelings, so it's very hard to say.

Is there anything he feared about.
- Mostly about his tennis opponent's record, and if he can win these matches. In general life, he is shy outside, doesn't like to be in crowds and public places with lots of adults, it's hard to say if he fears these or just feels uncomfortable.

How's his appetite, does he feel hunger soon after eating
- His appetite is pretty good, but after eating a big meal, he gets hungry after a few hours just like any other person, maybe a little sooner, but that could be because he is extremely active physically (4-6 hours of tennis and fitness every day).

Can he bear fatty food?
- Yes
Does he like meat?
- He's vegetarian, so not eaten meat.

His thirst
- He doesn't drink much water, so less thirsty, when he drinks, he prefers to drink something with sugar in it.

He drinks a large quantity of water at a time or small sips frequently
- large quantity one time, does not like to drink small sips.

He desire for which type of drink mostly
- he likes sodas, juices, anything sweet or sour.

His sleep
- does not sleep good, very light sleeper (runs in the family), does not like to go to bed

Does he feel drowsy or active most of th e time specially after meals
- depends, if he is very tired and eats a lot of carbs, then he can feel drowsy, but for the most part, pretty even most of the times

Frequent Dreams?
- i asked him, he says, he doesn't remember.

He likes to take bath?
- No, doesn't like at all.

What about stool
- can be hard at times, if he didn't eat his veggies & drank protein powder. Before and around matches, he can do diarrhea, if he is nervous.

Urination
- can hold for long periods of time, seems that it is not clear, moderately yellowish in color

Sweating---if excessive then on which part
- yes, excessive sweating, all across the body, but particularly visible under the armpits, on the back of the neck and the back.

Can he stay slone

In dark
- yes, he can stay alone in the dark

Which weather he like most
- he likes pleasant weather the best, with less humidity, about 68-70 deg F

Does he weeps easily
- no, hardly, for the past 3-4 years

He likes to be alone or with company most of the time
- nowadays, seems like prefers to be alone.

He likes to be consoled when he is out of himself ?
- no, he prefers to be left alone. He recovers quickly, within a few moments, he is back to his usual self, as if nothing happened.

He likes sympathy or not
- doesn't seem like. If we (parents) try to sympathize, he pushes us away.

Thanks.

Hi Dr.KR,

I have sent you emails but presumably they haven't got through.

Please use only the 'Mister4' Log in. This was a change to your Dr4 Log in as we don't allow people to call themselves dr, as we can not check this.

I will rename Dr.KR as 'Also Mister4' to make it easier for people to keep track.

I'd have loved to say that it worked, but seems like it's been a complete disaster. With Silicea for 3 days, he's seemed to be more angry than normal and more anxious. He still can't focus when people are watching him. He lost today badly to someone he should have beaten badly based on his ability. He hasn't slept well since he took Silicea, every morning looking tired and sleepy.

On the day of the tournament, if there are two matches, he wins the first match but then he has no emotional energy left for the 2nd match, after so many nights of not enough sleep, arguing with us (the parents for few hours before and after the first match) due to anxiety. Every match, he tries to find a reason to lose, rather than find a way to win. This has been a pattern for too long.

I don't know what to do. Maybe just give up. Nothing has helped so far. Countless talks with him by so many people, parents, coaches, psychologists, ayurveda, naturopathy, homeopathy. Looks like he has no motivation or self-esteem or grit or willingness to admit he has some issue or area that he needs to improve upon.

Do you think he might be more lycopodium instead of silicea?

The following all seem to apply to him:
I) Inferiority. One type of Lycopodium feels this lack in himself and becomes very shy, introverted, soft and often becomes rather a loner. The main fear is of people.
II) Egotism. The other type of Lycopodium takes a sort of counter-phobic response to this inner lack of confidence. Thus the patient becomes bombastic, egotistical, bragging, acting extroverted and assertive. Lycopodium is the main remedy under the rubric, "love of power".
Self-control. Another aspect of Lycopodium is lack of discipline. For example, Lycopodium is the remedy that most craves sweets and eats them to the extent that it is detrimental to his well-being.

Children. Both of the two basic types described above can be seen in Lycopodium children. Many of the children are angry, bossy, and rude to parents who are too "permissive". The parents are often perplexed to find that at school the child gets good conduct scores because this bullying attitude is not tolerated.

He exhibits lot of fratulence too. He likes little cooler weather and is warm-blooded and not chilly.

When he wakes up in the morning, he is not fresh, like a Lycopodium and unlike a Silicea.

Head is big in size, same for buttocks, hips and calves.

acts like a bully at home, but at school is well-behaved and reserved. aggressive opponents in sports can easily bully him.

Complexion: pale, dirty, unhealthy; sallow; looks older than he is.

Irritable; peevish and cross on waking.

Gets angry easily.

Ok please answer,

His present situation as compared to the day before yesterday

Age/weight/height

What he likes to drink mostly hot drinks or cold drinks

Is there any intolerance for cold drinks

Which food he prefers hot or cold?

Is he sensitive for noise, odour etc?

Does he afraid to be alone?

He feels drowsy or active during the day time
He sleeps in daytime??

Does he like to take new responsibilities,

He argues with parents or not ?

Does he take care of smaller kids, he shows responsibility towards them?

Mister4 5 years ago
Doesn't seem to be any change as far as I can tell.

age: 16
Weight: 158-160 lbs
Height: 5'9"

- He likes mostly cold drinks

- He hardly takes anything hot, even food waits for it to become cool, unless it's junk food, in which case he will eat it immediately. Does not drink anything hot.

- Not Sensitive to noise or odor

- He's not afraid to be alone.

- Most morning's when he wakes up, he does not look fresh. He can feel drowsy if he slept particularly bad the previous night(s). as he is an athlete, he is active most of the day. He has a lot of restless energy which he needs to spend everyday, both physical and mental.

- He does not sleep during daytime, he does not like it.

- He does not like to take new responsibilities.

- He argues a LOT with parents. He has counter-argument for everything immediately. This has been the case since he started talking, not only in the teen years. He could be a very good lawyer.

- He doesn't have any siblings, so its hard to say if he would show responsibility towards them.

Let me add, he's immature mentally for his age but generally people said he looked older than his age physically though i don't think it is the case now.

He bites his finger nails when anxious and when no nails are left, then the skin of his fingers.

wireless1 5 years ago
It is 100% sure that he is not lycopodium?

If you think so, then you can try but i dont suggest..

At my side i can go for repertization again..and suggest some other

If i suggest you should wait at least 1 week after silicea and observe if there is any minor or major change gud or bad..

It looks weird but sometime changes that looks bad are a part of way of cure..just need to observe the sequence in which they appear and go
