Can't stop baby's runny nose

Hi,

My 1 year old has had a cold for about 2 weeks. She started as usual, showing symptoms after my 4 year old came home from Daycare with a cold. Then she started with the runny nose, then a cough and then the rattling in her chest. I gave her Ant Tart. and the rattling in chest and cough went away. The streaming running nose however, has not subsided. Usually when she reaches this stage in the cold the Ant Tart. stops the rattling, cough and nasal discharge; this time it didn't. Her nasal discharge is as follows:

Clear, watery, whitish,(like egg-whites) constant, thin, usually copious after a sneeze or when crying. Her disposition is good, happy except when wiping nose. Sensitive to light, especially hates camera flash. Any other questions, please let me know.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Tried one dose of this (6c) during cold but it didn't seem to make much difference. Perhaps, I should try again maybe with a 30c dose, now that other symptoms have subsided. And repeat if necessary. Thanks.

Dear Erika,
all these symptoms indicates that yopur child should be given NAT MUR,
give NAT MUR 30, after every 3 hours, then report.

Dear Ericka1,

How much of Ant Tart did you give your baby? I have a 9 month old and have similar symptoms. She doesn't have the runny nose....just the wet deep cough. I can feel her chest rattling. Should I take the Ant Tart since she is breastfed? Thanks.....

Hi Tammy,

What I did was give the Ant tart directly to my baby in a 30c dose. She has taken it directly before and she is breastfed also. She had a slight, hacking cough, dry with mucous that rattled in her chest. She could not expel the mucous in her coughing so I would just hear it rattling in her chest. After 2, 30c doses, the rattling and cough went away. I also set up a humidifier in her room, to loosen the phlegm further. She has used Ant tart successfully before when she has had the same symptoms twice before and it worked very well.

Hope that this info may be helpful to you. Anything else that may be helpful, please ask. Good luck.

Regards,
E

Hi Erika1

My store here only carries Ant Tart in 6. Can I use that? Actually, my baby seems worse, her cough is so deep and breathing is wheezy. no fever, no runny nose. Thanks

You may need to consult further if your daughter is wheezy. I believe that wheezy symptoms might indicate arsenicum in some cases. You may want one of the Doctors on this forum to confirm your baby's repetoire of symptoms to get a complete, final diagnosis.

If you would like to try the Ant Tart in 6c anyway, then you might start with 2 pellets. When I don't have my 30c dosages, I may double up on a 6c dosage instead, in a pinch. You may find that the Ant T. does work for your baby but if it doesn't you may want to repost to address the wheezing symptoms. Good luck.

Just to follow up - my daughter's symptoms cleared up after one dose of the Nat. M. Thanks Dr. Sajid. She is back to normal - no runny nose.

Jtlaharder, how are things for your baby. Did the Ant. T work or did you try something else?

My baby's symptoms are still the same. I just don't have a store that carry a high potency! It's frustrating! Ant Tart 6x was the highest pot! Can you believe it! I am using the humidifier until I get that Ant Tart 30c. Thanks!! will post after I get it and see results!

My DD's condition cleared, however just recently she developed a fever started with 101......now on day 3 fever with 103ish. She has now developed a cough and rattling in her chest. Erika, did your daughter have a fever when giving Ant Tart? I now have the 30c. Just really don't know the rememdy for her condition. Regretfully, I have given her Ibprofen....now she is playful, happy, and fever at pnly 100. Thanks

Jtharder,

Yes, my daughter had a fever at that time. Ant t is good for symptoms that have intense fever, alternating w/chills, with chest symptoms such as rattling or wheezing and if she is hot during her sleep. What are her other symptoms though? Another remedy may be more appropriate in this case especially if this is a new condition? Thanks.

Tammy,

I gave her 30c every 2-3 hours as needed. Once her symptoms improved, I stopped giving her the remedy all together. In the beginning, because her symptoms were slow to improve, I think I gave her one pellet the first hour and then a second one, 1 hour 1/2 later. After that, I gave her 1 pellet in 2-3 hours intervals until she got noticeably better. Overall, I gave her about 5 pellets of Ant T.

Oops, I gave her 5 pellets of 30c. Her rattling seems to be better!! However, I took her in to the doctor and she has a ear and throat infection. BOO! Thanks for all your help!!!

You can still continue the homeopathic with the allopathic medicine also. Hope she feels better!
