Many thanks for your attention Dr. Nawaz. Here are more details. I hope they are informative and look forward to your evaluation.

20. What comes to your mind? All the things I need to do swim around my head. THey come in flashes, disorienting, I'm pulled in a hundred directions at once. Everything seems to require immediate attention, but nothing seems ready to be addressed.

21. One situation that had a
big effect on you? In regards to this problem? I don't understand this question.

22. How did that feel like?
23. What sensation do you experience in that situation?

24. What are you showing by that gesture of your hand (Habits or Actions)? Agitation, lack of focus or linear progression, helplessness

25. Current and previous remedies/medicines you are taking or took in the past? none

26. Family Background
27. Educational Qualifications of the patient = I have a good basic education, emphasis on sciences and history. I have Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master's in Teaching.

28. Nature of work, what do you do for living? I am unemployed. I am supposed to be teaching, but I feel intimidated by society's expectations around the private lives of teachers, I don't feel conservative/morally superior enough to be accepted as a teacher, so I find odd jobs, selling clothes and vintage items, doing freelance art. I'm running out of money and time, and need to make progress in my career as an educator. I feel a lot of anxiety around my ability to provide for myself. I do not feel competent.

29. Desires, likes and dislikes for food = I love simple, natural unprocessed foods, like beans and rice with cilantro, salads, fresh vegetables and fruits, and I feel best with adequate protein and little to no starches. I love spices, especially with meat. I eat lots of yogurt and fermented veggies, like saurkraut. I love garlic and fats.

30. Name of foods which increase your problem - I do not like sugary foods they make me feel out of sorts and create cravings. I do not like black coffee, bland foods or overcooked foods, or very salty.

31. Mind-behavior, anger, irritability, hurry, impatient…and so on.. How are you different from other persons, public speaking or not , you can describe all of the details about your behavior, love and affections. = I am mentally hyperactive, always thinking and analyzing, At this age I am very self-aware, and constantly observe my own feelings and thoughts. I'm naturally shy and self=conscious, but I'm good at hiding it under an outgoing, friendly persona. I listen well to others and pride myself in being a good friend. I will go to great lengths to help someone who asks me. On the other hand, I can be jealous and insecure in my love relationship, and competitive with girlfriends, traits I hate in myself. I often struggle to be generous and have to force myself to share even small things like food with others. I'm sometimes paranoid that others don't like me and talk about me behind my back, As a kid I used to be very aggressive and quick to anger, but over the years have become much more cautious about allowing my anger to flare. I'm insecure and can't stand to be upstaged by someone prettier - she will make me feel like the loser in a competition in which only one of us can be lovable. I have a soft heart that can't stand to see anyone suffer. I cry easily at the thought of cruelty, degradation or abandonment. I'm fiercely feminist, and will always root for the underdog. I have only been deeply in love once, and it almost killed me (the man was an abusive person, and I was obsessed with what I thought was 'true love'). Since then I have had many long, monogamous relationships but always felt something missing in my partners. My outlook on life oscillates between wonder at the beauty of the world, and cynicism over humankind's parasitic habits. Usually, I'm pretty happy but have frequent bouts of anxiety. I can be quite sneaky and full of guile. I hate it when I'm a hypocrite as I have little patience for this in others. I can be weak willed and give into temptations that leave me feeling guilty and remorseful.

32. Aggravation (increases-time, season,)& Amelioration (Decreases) Worse during the middle of the day. Better whenever I'm busy and on=track. No seasonal correlation.

33. Attached here your photographs of the affected area. (if required/optional)

34. Location of the disease == mental, but i sometimes feel it in tightness in the chest
35. Side of the problem (Right or Left), (Upper or Lower part of body) not applicable
36. Color of the secretions/discharges e.g urine, stool, sputum, Saliva etc. not applicable

For Females Only
37. When is the period during the month approx date? started yesterday
Any monthly cycle issues? no, except I am extremely fertile, birth control is a challenge
Regular, early, late, before problems, after problems, pain, any other discharges? pretty regular
38. Are you pregnant? If yes, please give pregnancy start date? Any current issues? not pregnant right now

Please ask any other questions that may be pertinent. YOur time and expertise is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I am still working on your case. Some remedies are not good during period. How is your cycle going right now? Any issues?

Please list all homoeopathic remedies you have at home right now?

nawazkhan last decade
Have you taken homoeopathic medicines before? If so which ones?

Your mental and emotional description sounds very much like our remedy Lachesis.

Dr. Rajan Sankaran on LACHESIS:

'The specific problem of Lachesis seems to be the problem of jealousy, or how to get the better of (be one-up on) a rival, especially in the situation of male-female relationships or in the sphere of sexual relationships. It is the situation of someone who has to compete against a person with better qualities, as for example a menopausal woman whose husband has a young girlfriend. She has the feeling of weakness within herself as she compares herself to her younger and more attractive rival. She feels that there are conspiracies against her and this makes her suspicious of people around her. Her survival depends on her being one-up on her rival, and she does this with clever, manipulative talk. With her loquacity, she is able to attract and retain the attention of the listener; she can be witty, sarcastic, loud, animated, vividly expressive, excited. She observes the listener, judging all the time his interest level, and at the correct moment unnoticed by the latter, she injects the venom that works in him after he has left her presence.'

On top of that, Lachesis very markedly suffers from an intense and active mental state, very commonly aggravated at night where they can find it hard to sleep, because their mind is abuzz with thoughts and ideas.

Thoughts, intrude and crowd around each other.

Thoughts, rush or flow of, at night

Thoughts rapid and quick

Hi,

In my considered opinion, based upon the previous cases, Lachesis will lead to irregular periods in the future.

Your remedy is Anacardium Orientale that may be started once your monthly cycle is over.

Many prayers for you.

Nawaz

Someone's intrusion during your treatment here is not to help you, but, to hurt me. You are already in pain and suffering and you have not done any harm to anyone on this forum.

Someone has already done this on so many threads by confusing and making patients run away from this beautiful forum. So, please be careful. I can provide you with the links of those threads, if needed?

Nawaz is wrong, Lachesis will do no such thing. If it is suitable the only thing it will do is cure all your problems. As any suitable homoeopathic medicine will do.

It is your choice as to whose advice you take. I always attempt to provide people with my reasoning so that if they choose to take my suggestions, they do so as fully informed as I can make them.

If you wish to take Anacardium, please ask for Nawaz's reasoning so that you can compare the two remedies for yourself.

Dear Dr. Nawaz,

Thank you for your advice. My period has been a little unusual this time - it started early and very light for several days, then it became heavy and had a strong, unpleasant smell, like meat that has not been refrigerated for a day or two. Usually my period is very regular 28 day cycle, starts heavy for a day or two and then becomes light, and rarely has a noticeable odor.

What strength should I take Anacardium Orientale? For how long?

I read some information on Anacardium Orientale at this website: http://www.similima.com/gp29.html

Many symptoms do sound a lot like me, and I can see why you would prescribe this remedy based on the information I have given - I am indeed plagued by inner conflict, feelings of inadequacy, the desire to prove myself (mainly to myself), and anxiety about the future. I do feel at times that I have a 'double will.' I do suffer greatly from the opinion that I am a coward.

Some points do NOT sound like me - can you tell me if they are an essential part of the Anacardium personality? I am wondering if perhaps I am an Anacardium person but to a much milder degree.

I am truly incapable of cruelty towards people or animals. I am incapable of torture, and cry easily when I read or hear of such things. I will never enjoy doing harm to anyone.

Also, I am not so paranoid as to think that others are 'out to get me.' I don't imagine myself important enough to others as to exert the effort that a conspiracy would require. I don't feel that I have enemies - I feel people are more likely to be uninterested in me than invested in hurting me.

These statements also sound A LOT like me:
Baryta carbonica will manifest an inferiority complex from the very beginning of life, childhood, to the end of life. Baryta carbonica does not want to become a grown-up with responsibilities; she feels that it is too much for her and wants to remain protected, like a child. She feels that she cannot undertake and accomplish anything.

The excerpt (posted by David Kempson) on Dr. Rajan Sankaran on LACHESIS also sounds very much like feelings that I have.

In this case, should I use Lachesis as well as Anacardium? Or, if the Anacardium addresses the problem of inferiority complex, perhaps feelings of jealousy will dissipate on their own?

Thank you so much for your time and attention to helping me Dr. Nawaz. It is very much appreciated!

Dear Mr. Kempson,

Thank you for your interest in my case, and your thoughtful advice. The description you posted of Lachesis does indeed sound a lot like me.

Do you have a dosage and frequency that you would recommend?

Is it possible that you and Dr. Nawaz essentially agree on the problem, but see different ways of addressing it?

I am very grateful for the attention that you both have offered towards the resolution of my problem and I hope that the discussion can be one in which we all learn from each other, rather than one that creates disharmony.

I would be eager to try both remedies and report back in the interest of gaining insight, if there is a way to separate the treatments methodically and scientifically. Is this an option that you may be able to advise?

Also, I have no wish to contribute to any tensions felt between healers here on the forum. I deeply appreciate the generosity of all who respond to my questions.

Thank you very much for your time and attention.

You can only use one remedy at a time. Whichever piece of advice you choose to follow, you must explore that option properly before moving on to another.

You cannot be both Anacardium and Lachesis at the same time. When choosing a remedy, and there are apparently aspects of the patient not covered by the remedy, it is important to examine those aspects to see if
1. the remedy actually does fit them even if superficially it appears not to
2. a better remedy can be found that includes ALL those expressions.

My experience in clinic with face-to-face clients is that the remedy must deal with the basic problem, around which all the other problems revolve. By solving this problem the others will fall apart, even if the remedy isn't specifically known for them.

One of the ways to ascertain that problem and whether the remedy will solve that problem permanently is to look at the Kingdom the substance comes from

Animal remedies are focussed on competition, territory, attack and defence, sexuality, survival, and a 'me versus them' mentality. The basic problem comes down to a struggle to survive where the strong dominates the weak. Animal people tend to perceive all their problems from the perspective of a competition, where particular qualities or traits will allow them to beat the competition or causes them to lose.

The Snakes (to which Lachesis belongs) have a particular strategy here. They often feel at a disadvantage, so cannot take on their competition directly. Instead, they take the indirect path - they strike from the back, from hiding, where the defender cannot see them. Even if they don't do this themselves they will often seem to be the victims of such attacks. Backstabbing, sarcasm, talking behind someone's back, sneakiness, gossip, rumour mongering, undermining their opponents.

Obviously the human side to them (the healthy side) abhors this behaviour, and another aspect of the person who needs an animal remedy is the conflict they feel between two sides of them - the good or moral side, the bad or immoral side. They may talk about 'high' and 'low' behaviour - the animal is often the shadow side of their personality, tempting them to do things they feel unhappy about.

The Plant kingdom on the other hand (to which Anacardium belongs) has as its main issue sensitivity. They are particular sensitive to some sensation or problem in their life, and everything arises out of this. It is as if a specific feeling runs throughout their whole existance, manifesting everywhere either directly or in its opposite form.

For the plant group to which Anacardium belongs, it is Tightness, Stiffness, Inflexibility, Inability to move, Stuck, Jammed, Tension. Their is a reaction to this which is to be paralysed or trapped. In response to this feeling, there is a lot of Restlessness, a strong desire to keep Moving, and Movement makes them feel better. Sitting still usually makes them feel much worse, although the first movement often aggravates them (though they warm up). This can be seen mentally as well as physically.

You can go to this thread to see where I recently prescribed Anacardium, based on this strong sensation of Restless movement and a feeling of being Stuck or Immovable.

http://abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/288196/

Lastly, the Mineral kingdom tends to express their problems as a lack of something specific, which creates a problem in the structure of their body/health/life. Mineral people will speak about something missing, about something being broken or not functioning correctly, or about an excess of something which is causing problems for them

Baryta-carb is a combinaton of two elements. Baryta belongs to Row 6 on the periodic table, which relates to Responsibility, Power. It position in the row is similar to Calc (who is in row 4)and it shares some of that element's qualities - Uncertainty, a desire to Hide, a sensitivity to being Observed, Pasivity, Dependency. So Baryta is Uncertain about their Responsibility and Power. They feel dependent on others to carry out their responsibilities. They feel small, smaller than other people, less capable to do the things others take for granted and do easily. This can make them feel childish and insecure.

The other element is Carbon, which belongs to row 2. The main theme of Carbon is 'Can I stand on my own two feet, Can I be independent?' Combined with Baryta you get the peculiar feeling 'Delusion his legs have been cut off' and 'Delusion is walking on his knees'. Baryta looks around at a world of adults, all able to express their power and responsibilities in the world, and feels small and ridiculous, incapable and childish. This problem is with themselves, they feel they lack power - this is not competition like with the animals, it is a feeling that something important is missing in them.

Mr. Kempson,

What a fascinating explanation! THank you so much for all that information. I read over the case in which you prescribed Anacardium - I felt many things in common with this person, but some differences as well. I sorely wished that the entries went on to document his experience with the remedy.

Many aspects of the different remedies - Lachesis, Anacardium, Baryta-carb, resonate with me - they all seem to be describing my problems from different angles, by a different light - how do I choose one? Would you be willing to help me narrow it down more?

And, how do I select the proper strength?

Again, many thanks!

KayLove last decade
Well my suggestion would be Lachesis over the other two. However, if you want to list the features that you feel fit the other remedies (using your own words not the description from the remedy itself) I can examine them in more detail.

Remember - your own words :)

OK, well I have Lachesis on hand in both a 30c and a 200c... which should I take, please? And how often?

KayLove last decade
What form do you currently have them in?

These are my standard instructions for making the Split Dose.

INSTRUCTONS FOR SPLIT DOSING

Firstly, you need to create a separate dosing bottle. Get a bottle with a dropper, 15-30mls in size, and fill it with a mixture of water and alcohol (5 parts to 1 part). Dissolve 2-4 granules or 2-4 drops of the medicine you bought from the pharmacy into this mixture. Your doses will be made from this bottle.

Hit the bottle firmly against the palm of your hand, or another elastic surface like a book. It should be a firm hit not a tap. 2 hits is enough to begin with, and should not be increased unless it is clear that it is needed. The water in this bottle will 'remember' the number of times you have hit it, so that subsequent doses will be stronger (necessary to overcoming the resistance of your disease).

Place 1 drop into an amount of water - start with 1/4 cup (60mls). Stir thoroughly and take 1 teaspoon into the mouth. Throw the rest of the cup away.

This is one dose. Repeat doses would be started from the 2 hits on the bottle.

Each step of this process can be adjusted to reduced aggravation or to increase the effect of the medicine. In order to be able to do this, it is important to measure each step (count the hits, the drops, measure the water etc).

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
I have them both in the form of little hard round beads.

Should I follow your instructions with the 30 or the 200? What kind of alcohol should I use?

Does split dosing makes the medicine stronger?

KayLove last decade
Oops sorry I thought I said 200c.

Any spirit is fine - I usually use brandy or vodka. Make sure whatever you use has no milk products in it.

Split dosing makes the remedies more effective and easier to manage. You will get less aggravation and more longevity of use.

You can read about split dosing here on Dr. Luc Du Schepper's site.

I also want to report my experience of this morning, in an attempt to illustrate what I mean by mental confusion.

I'm folding my laundry. Thoughts: I need more hangers. The hangers are outside in the garage. The garage is full of those old clothes that need to be sold or stored. I can't go outside until I put on some sunscreen. As a matter of fact, I should take my vitamin. That reminds me, I should check with abchomeopathy about which remedies to take. I'll get online and check. As long as I'm here I should check my email as well. I'm getting side-tracked by my messages. But I shouldn't be online until I've finished my chores. It's a mess in here and I need to clean up. This stuff right there needs to be washed. If only I had a place to put it. Wait - I need to finish this laundry first, but I don't have any hangers! I'd better go put on sunscreen. But I can't put on sunscreen until I've completed my exercises or it will make my skin break out. I have no room to do exercises until I clean up. I can't clean up without more hangers... and so on, and so on.

Now I'm online and haven't finished the other projects which are half-started. The phone is ringing and the cat needs his medication. Time is passing, it's getting later and later, nothing is progressing and my anxiety is growing. I start feeling like there is something seriously wrong with me. I wonder if I have a disability. Why do I do this to myself? I'm so frustrated! I'll never make it out of here, days will pass and nothing will change. My chest feels tight and I'm going to cry. I know - I'll make a list! Where is the paper and pencil? It's in that room somewhere, that I've been meaning to organize. Now my boyfriend is yelling at me. Why haven't I finished the laundry?!?

KayLove last decade
There is a rubric in our repertories to describe that

'Undertakes many things, perserveres in nothing'

There are 36 remedies known for that feeling, Lachesis is one of them. There are some interesting ones in there - other animal remedies like Dog's Milk, Horse Milk, Scorpion, Bald Eagle, Honey Bee. Mobile phone is in there as well (a remedy made from the radiation produced by a phone). But the fact that Lachesis is in that rubric is promising.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Is there a distinction between 'undertakes many things, perseveres in nothing' because of a lack of motivation as opposed to inability to think straight?

I'm motivated, just can't seem to think my way out of a paper bag. That's where the Anacardium';s reference to imbicility made me take pause.

I'm very smart. I just can't seem to think linearly!
