The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Attention Joe De Livera

Dear Joe,

I am a healthy 19 year old female. I am interested in taking arnica to treat slightly darker patches of skin on both my cheeks.

Please let me know the recommended dosage and for how long I should take it for.

Thank you very much.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Arnica helped someone who reported that it had reduced the dark circles under her eyes.

You can do a search for this term on this Forum but it must not be confused with your problem which you state is 'to treat slightly darker patches of skin on both my cheeks.'

Yours is not a medical problem as to me is seems to be more cosmetic in nature.

I regret that I am not able to help you.

Dear Joe,

Thank you for your reply.

I just read on a forum about an incident where the lady's melasma spots disappeared after taking Arnica for 2 days.

Your response to her was:
Arnica 30c and 6c in the wet dose? From Joe De Livera on 2006-08-06
To Marianstar

I have always maintained that one Lives to Learn.

I am grateful to you for having shared your discovery that in just 2 days on Arnica 30c in the wet dose, you have actually witnessed your Melasma spots clearing up and being lightened to the colour of the surrounding skin. Quite frankly, this is another first for me and for Arnica. I am as excited as you are in this very unusual effect which it would be safe to state was caused by the Arnica you used but what is baffling me is how in just 2 days when I presume you took a total of just 4 teaspoonfuls of the remedy, it could have 'dissolved' the pigmentation and thereby lightened the spots. It is very likely that within the next few days or weeks that these spots may disappear and I am sure that you will record your progress as you have done above.

Arnica is known to promote the circulation of blood in the body. It is possible that the darker pigmentation of your Melasma spots was due to the clumping of the pigment on the skin which would normally have been 'washed' by the blood flow thereby ensuring that the addition of pigment did not occur in one spot but because of the presence of some substance like fat, the pigment was clumping up in one spot and perhaps even adding to the buildup of the colour which would only darken more in time.

As soon as you took that infinitesimal dose of Arnica 30, it helped to clear the blockage of the pigment on the spot and in just 2 days it was gone ! I must admit that I am only conjecturing on the action that can occur due to the action of the Arnica but there is indeed a strong possibility that my conjecture can be accepted logically as how your Melasma spots cleared up as if by Magic !

Do you think this will work for me too?? Will it be okay to try the wet dose? How long should I wait for before stopping to use it?

Apologies for bombarding you with questions.

Awaiting your response.

Hello again,

If arnica is not suitable for the condition that I have, will you be able to recommend any other homeopathic remedy that will help lightening the darker areas.

Thank you for your time and assistance.
