Dr. Niel, please help! Hypogonadism

Dear Dr. Niel,

I read a few of your entries on this forum. It sounds like you are the person I need to speak with.

I am writing to you because I am a bit desperate about my health situation. Until about three months ago, I was a healthy man with a healthy libido. In late January, I started taking a medication called Propecia against male pattern baldness. The result was devastating. Within ten or so days, severe testicular pain set in, gradually devolving into a general discomfort in the genital area. I also completely lost my libido, and severe erectile dysfunction set in. I stopped taking Propecia immediately, but the discomfort in the genital area and the sexual dysfunction has persisted.

I am currently in touch with two allopathic doctors about this matter, one of whom I will see next Tuesday. They are suspecting that It seems am suffering from hypogonadism. I had my hormone levels tested, but they showed no decrease in testosterone levels (they went up from 580 to 700); indeed, there seems to have been a slight increase over a test I did last year. However, I was told by one of these doctors that it is not surprising that my regular testosterone levels aren't lower: Propecia works, not by inhibiting the production of testosterone but by preventing the breakdown of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

Although, as I said, I haven't seen said doctor yet, the most likely therapy he will advise will be hormone replacement therapy. As someone who has had very positive experiences with homeopathy in the past, and given that my condition has been present only for a few months, I am hopeful that homeopathy might be able to help my body return to properly regulating my hormones on its own again. Do you have any advice for me on that front?

About me: 29 years old, male, graduate student, 180 cm, 70 kg.

Thank you so much in advance.
