Sameer-Husband and Nux Vomica?

Hi Sameer,

I was hoping for your counsel. I thought I would try to be helpful to my husband by giving him Nux 30c. It was a remedy suggested to him in the past and he seemed to fit the picture well. However upon reading through the forum, including some of your posts I learned that this is an acute remedy. (I'm a bit of a slow learner with homeopathy but I'm trying)

If you are so inclined and have the time would you mind advising?

Here are some of the things that led me to Nux:

-aggresive personality, irritable at inefficiency of others. Always feels he must do it himself if it is to be done right.

-procrastination

-very competitive. always plays to win.

-expresses desire to try everything (That looks like fun!)

-tendency to stimulants (coffee)
-gastrointestinal complaints. bloating in abdomen, loose and frequent stools
-strong fear of water when he can't see the bottom
-back pain while in bed
-rises early and can't get back to sleep

In addition there are the following symptoms:

-strong need for attention and reassurance of love

-unforgiving to those that have offended him

-Enjoys caretaking. He loves it when I need him i.e. if I'm sick or don't know how to do something.

-great sense of humor(although slightly irreverent).Something that is quickly evident to people that meet him.

He has only taken one 30c dose in water today, and has no adverse side effects. It it advisable to give another dose or to discontinue and proceed with a non-acute remedy?

Your kind help is always appreciated. I'll be updating my son's post as well.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
sorry, he has actually taken 3 doses today.

I dont think Nux will do much in the long term especially if there has been no history of stimulant or substance abuse.

The remedy has no anti-miasmatic properties at all.

How does he respond to

1) Tight clothing

2) Warm baths

3) Closed places

1.He doesn't like tight clothing. But it's not a major aggravation to him.

2. He is fine with warm baths

3. No claustrophobia that we know of

More information will be needed, to zero in on the remedy.

How is his behavior with people in family ?

How responsible is he ?

How organized is he ?

Any fears ?

Anger ?

He is very loyal to those in his family. He often acts in a way that can be offensive within the family expecting little repercussions because he also expects that same loyalty back. i.e. you should be able to let it all out good and bad when you're with family

He is very responsible. He enjoys being entrusted with any job.

He has his own organization... meaning things have to be just the way he wants them and if it's not then he doesn't view it as organized. But he often has stacks around his office, cords all over the place etc.

He fears abandonment and bodies of water where he can't see the bottom.

Yes, he gets angry frequently. Mostly over minor issues. His voice often has tension in it or he will raise his voice. Just as frequently he is very playful and full of laughter.

Hi plken,

Can you please expand a bit on the following:

'-unforgiving to those that have offended him' ?

sameervermani last decade
If his feelings are hurt by something someone did to him he is quick to write them off. He tends to assume that they are insincere and therefore it is not worth any effort to mend the relationship (that is, outside of family)

What about his temperature preferences , weather preferences and food cravings/aversions ?

Any odd physical symptoms ?

Any other mental traits which will help me understand him ?

sameervermani last decade
He prefers dry warm weather.

He often craves fatty meats. (think southern diet)

He has acne on his back.
When he sneezes it smells like cinnamon.
When he is sick he often moans loudly in his sleep

He is very sensitive to rejection. He likes to make people laugh. He is not motivated to do a lot of physical activity, but when he works, he works hard.

I think about that some more today and get back to you, but that is a general picture.

How strong is his survival instinct ?

Also, how quick is he to act ?

Any feelings of jealousy or suspicion ?

sameervermani last decade
1. It changes daily

2. If it something that can be dealt with quickly, like something spills or breaks he is very fast. Things that he can procrastinate on he will.

3. Yes.

Can you please explain this more 'When he sneezes it smells like cinnamon.'

He himself can smell cinnamon ?? Or his sneeze leaves out an odour that others can smell ?

sameervermani last decade
Yes, he can smell it and so can others.

It should be Lachesis or Sulphur, you can read up more and let me know what you think.

sameervermani last decade
We're definitely leaning sulphur. Do you think 3 doses of 30c one week after taking the nux dose would be a good start?

plken last decade
Nux and Sulphur are complementary.

You can just wait for 3 days, and give the 3 doses of Sulphur on an empty stomach in the morning.

sameervermani last decade
2 hours between doses is good?

plken last decade
30 minutes is better.

thanks:)

Hi Sameer,

It's been about two weeks since the dose. Since then he's been feeling very aggressive,non-lenient,although not generally towards family. A day after taking it he had a feeling of guilt in his stomach that moved progressively lower through his body. He has also had his heartburn return. He's also felt a general malaise.
Do you think it's time to go to 200?

plken last decade
No, this is overall worsening of the case.

I do not think Sulphur is the right remedy.

Will analyze when I get some time.

sameervermani last decade
Sameer, What do you think about going ahead with a Lachesis dose?

plken last decade
Yes, please go ahead. Lachesis 30, 3 doses.
