Carc 30 for Autism
Hey All,I have a 2yr old son diagnosed with a few autistic features. He regressed at around 17 months. He is also gluten intolerant. Presently non-verbal though he babbles a lot.
I have used homeopathy for teething and cold / cough.
I have been given Carcinosin 30 and Carc 200 to be given to my son for the next 1 month.
I read that Carc is made from tumors. This is scaring me
Please let me know more about the same

How many doses have been prescribed to be given ?
Carc is an extremely deep acting remedy and should be prescribed carefully just like any other deep acting remedy in the materia medica..but there is no reason to be scared of its source.

The dosage is Carc30 4-0-4 for 2 weeks then same dose of Carc 200 for 2 weeks
The homeo doc said this is for cleansing my son's systems of whatever viruses maybe there. Acc to him ASD kids have a lot of virus in their bodies. My son however has always been a healthy child except during winters.
My son contracted a high fever at 15 months for which he was treated with antibiotics for the first time. Regression began after that. He had antibiotics early this year for chest congestion. Other than that not much medicine for him.
The food allergy doc feels my son regressed due to high gluten intolerance and once detoxified he'll be better. He's been gluten free for 6 weeks and we see a lot of change
What is worrying me is that I was told that Carc may cause physical problems like diarrhea, fever, rash. I asked the doc if it can cause regression and he said there may be a little regression.
Now, I CANNOT go through another regression. We simply waste time. My son is responding to toilet training, following verbal commands. We have reached this stage with so much of effort, I don't want to undo all the good work.
This homeopath says he prescribes Carc for all ASD kids. But from my experience, each ASD kid is very different. ASD kids are supposed to have poor immunity but my son is not very prone to illness

This is too high a dosage.. and is a sure way to spoil the case.
Stay away from this homeopath. He does NOT know what he is doing.

My mother talked to our regular homeopath in my hometown. He too said the dose is too high for a toddler.
He recommended Carc 30

This regular doc said that he prescribes Carc to remove obstacles. Is the dose he prescribed ok? And should all other homeo meds be stopped on the days Carc is given?

Homeopathic medicines are never taken in a pre-planned manner. You can start with Carc 30 , 3 pills X 2 times for 1 day (if Carc is the correct remedy)
But the next step can only be learnt from observation. If Carcinosin is the right remedy he will start improving within 2-3 days of the first dose, and then you must WAIT for as long as there is improvement happening. That period can vary from 2 weeks to 2 years. That is why you cannot give remedies in a pre-planned manner by prejudicing the duration of response to 2 weeks.
In homeopathy, we never EVER give 2 medicines together. One medicine chosen on the totality of symptoms is given. In fact, if the medicine is chosen correctly, a person can do well on one medicine in ascending potencies for years.
And Carc is not a 'block' remedy, it is a deep acting constitutional remedy.

I agree with Sameer - Carc should be used because there are indication in the patient for it, not used to 'unblock' a case. The concept of unblocking is an allopathic one - using a theorized cause to presribe without looking at the symptoms of the patient.
Even when it is used as in intercurrent (a remedy given in-between doses of the 'constitutional') there must be reason for it, symptoms that point to it.

Brisbanehomeopath is advising you correctly on dose, IMO.
However, I have read some cases where Carc. Was found to be a very good remedy in autistic children, where the symptoms and case history pointed to carc.
