IBS constipation type and inguinal indirect hernia
i have this problem of excessive bloating, gas, right sided inguinal hernia due to constipation(also loss of sexual feelings probably attributed to the above feelings). i have seen a doctor who prescribed me 'Nux Vomica 30' in pill form, 10 pills at a time every alternate day, review after 14 days of treatment. i want to know if the '30' refers to 30C or 30X potency. i would also like to know if this is a strong or a weak potency( on the scale of all ranges of homeopathic potencies). i started it yesterday and have observed1) bloating and the herniating sensation of blockage in abdomen and blockage in pelvic region has increased and i am feeling more irritated as such due to increased constipation
2) tea just seemed to have a 'very good' effect on me as in i felt really good after having had it. it was not like this before. we know that tea is a stimulatant and unlike other days; yesterday and today, it seemed that tea has stimulated me more than usual and there is a general feeling of goodness after having it.
3) the reaction is mixed as of now. while bloating and constipation is causing headache and frustration( also blockage in abdomen and pelvis), walking is feeling like addictive as also the effects of tea and music are having increased effects of general well being and happiness.
i would like to know if i am on the right track on the treatment. any other thoughts are welcome.

you may be sensitive to potencies and thus a few doses of 30c may be a high for you.
if you are going through aggrvation of your original symptoms, its best to discontinue the doses till you find reversal of symptoms.
you will feel relieved if you stop the remedy and only repeat if the symptoms return.
if the symptoms do not get cleared, you may come here and describe your symptoms with your generals and modalities of the symptoms.
an alternate remedy could be suggested.

so you're saying that the '30' in the prescription refers to '30c' potency? certainly sir, the problems have aggravated. i just started the medication yesterday at 2.20 am and its been 25 hrs since then and my symptoms have gotten worse. the bloating sensation in my abdomen has increased, my right indirect inguinal hernia is putting pressure on my pelvis and sides of abdomen due to constipation. the sides of my abdomen are als pressing outwards and its irritating me a lot. my whole lower body feels like numb and weak, as if the blood pressure is low in that part of the body. also sexual feelings are very diminished due to the pressure on pelvis. please tell me what potency of nux v is appropriate for me; i would like to continue with this to see if it works for the time being.
