Afraid of getting pneumonia

Lungs are my weak spot. My coryza travels often down to my lungs and does not go away without antibiotics. Now I have sore throat and I have to start fighting.

This started 2 days ago. I had a lump in my throat and I was sneezing eggwhite and my nose was blocked at nights. So I took Nat Mur 200 c once. The following day I was better. The only symptom left was, that I could not breath deeply and properly.

Last night I went to sleep feeling I don't get air. I woke up around 2 am. I had a sore throat. I was lying on my left side and I felt that my throat and my lungs are burning and on fire.

At some point I turned to my right side and the burning stopped. I just had a sore throat. Swolloging did not make it worse or better.

When I woke up this morning the throat was not that sore anymore. But I lost my voice. It was very hoarse. After I was able to cough something up from my throat, the voice came back quite normal.

I keep blowing my noise, not much though. Never at nights. The color is half egg-white, the other half is yellow. It is like rubber band.

I don't have cough, but I need to clear my throat. Right now I know there is mucus on my chest. When I take a deep breath, I feel the noise in my chest. I am able to clear the chest a bit.

My tongues is whitish and smooth. The toothprint stays a little bit.

Since yesterday, after waking up, I have had some 'mucus' in the corners of my eyes. Normally I don't have it.

I had this kind of disease in November. I tried to treat myself for weeks, but ended up seeing a doctor and getting antibiotics. She was very angry for waiting too long. She said I was very close to pneumonia. So this is why I seek help even if this is just the beginning of the disease. Please advise me.

Thanks for replying. I don't have any drops... Shall I take Phos 30 c as pills thrice a day and report back after three days?

Maria&boys last decade

yes of course. Take 5 pills per dose.

Though Phosphorous is well indicated in this case, my advice will be to stop taking it the moment you feel better. Repetetion beyond this point in the hope of a faster cure will be counter productive.

The second precaution is to watch out for any new symptoms, which you never had before. In that case too the medicine is to be discontinued and the current position reported.

Yes Murthy, you are right. Of course I will be looking how I am doing.

Dr Mahfooz, I will start Phos 30 today.

Dear Dr Mahfooz,

I have taken 7 doses of Phos 30. My condition has been better day after day. The same symptoms are still there but not as bad.

I have not had a sore throat since I wrote you the first message. Last night was the first night I did not cough anymore. Yesterday morning I still had a hoarse voice, but not this morning.

But the phlegm still gathers to the throat during the night. Speacially in the mornings I have to clear up my throat. Yesterday this clearing up took until noon, but the afternoon and evening I was ok.

I also have been sneezing all the morning. The color of the discharge is still the same: mostly it is clear and flexible like rubber band, but there is some yellow in it. (funny how those colors are separated like in a egg there is yellow and white).

I feel my sinuses are swollen and I am not totally healthy. But othrewise I feel ok.

I must confess I was quite suspicious I started Phos three days ago. Because in November I was sick and I took Phos. But I took it thrice, the pain in the lungs dissappeared, but all the other syptoms continued.
Ultimately I was very sick. I took different remedies at the time (I know, too many...) and went back to Phosphorus, and took 200 c once. Again some improvement, but the sickness went on and on.
This time I wish we can take care of this before it is too late!

One more thing: I am so afraid of coughing and anything there is in lungs, because my mom and my grandmom has asthma. I have all the heritage and I know that quite often the asthma takes place after coryza.

Please advise what to do next!
I will leaver for a holiday for one week at weekend. Please advise which remedies I should take with me, just in case.

please continue medicine for another 3 days.

Hi Dr Mahfooz,

Thanks to you, I am better again. I just woke up and I did not have to clear my throat. I have taken Phos 30 another 2 days since your last posting(not 3 yet).

I still have something in the sinuses. The discharge looks the same, and there is a little bit of blood in it, but there is less of it.

I need your advise for two things:
I am going for a vacation and I will not have internet or the remedies with me. What IF the symptoms come back - which remedy shall I take with me?

The other question concerns my 5 years old son:
He was crying last night for many times for a sore throat. He was crying more than ever, so the throat must have been really sore.
He also kept sneezing a little bit. No other symptoms. The throat did not seem to be red or anything.
He was crying between 12 and 2 am. After that he slept peacefully and woke up saying he does not have a sore throat. Right now he looks happy.
I had the same on my first night.

Please advise me, which remedies I will take with me to the vacation for him? If he has just a sore throat, how is it possible to know the right remedy? A child cannot explain.
