help find chronic remedy

I have been working with my son to find a chronic miasmic remedy. Any suggestions from seasoned homeopaths would be appreciated.

He is an 11 yo boy, small for his age, blond hair.

He is very restless, sometimes has trouble sitting still. He runs through the house despite me telling him not to. He can't help it. He very often whines when he talks. He is a good boy in school, smart and pleasing, but can be very challenging at home. Like he has two sides. Sometimes he is a pleasure and sometimes he is very hard to be around. He is headstrong and rude to parents. Will lash out verbally. And will make gestures like put his hand and arm straight out in a stop position to say, stop, I'm not listening to you. He can go into a rage sometimes screaming and then it's hard to communicate with him and he will be out of control. He is very remorseful in a short while and almost demands that you forgive him right away. But Sometimes he doesn't care if he's punished until we tell him no t.v. or friends. Then all of a sudden he's very sorry. Self reproach.

Whatever he gets is never enough. He always wants more. This is with our attention too. He complains. There is some sort of mother/son issue. Mom was very sick for a while and was unable to give him attention last year. This could have added to the situation. He craves mom's attention. Also, dad's.

When he gets very upset, which is often, he will yell 'You don't love me', 'You don't care about me', 'You should adopt me out', 'You never pay any attention to me'

We do love and pay attention to him but it is never enough. He is an only child and doted on. He is better from consolation.

He LOVES to take baths and will take them as often as we let him. He also swims competitively. He is good in sports for his size. But with schoolwork, sports, etc., sometimes he will start out passionate and strong and then fizzle out and lose interest. With sports too if he is not the best.

He had eczema at birth all over the body. This lasted for years. (Not suppressed with steriods or anything). He then developed asthma at around age 1. We do treat that with inhaled steriods as needed. From birth he's had anaphalactic food allergies. He also has delayed food allergies. All dairy, fish, peas, etc. Also sinus problems, stuffed nose. Asthma gets worse in fall and from cold. Sinuses are worse in spring.

He has a good appetite but is slim. He craves potatoes, one of the foods he can have. He sleeps on his back and seems to sleep well. He will sometimes wake with an asthma attack.

Sometimes has an urgent need to urinate and will run to the toilet. But he will wait until he is home from school or whereever to sit on a toilet. He says the toilets are dirty at school. Otherwise, he is not particularly clean. Sometimes he will even put his old underwear back on after a bath.

He cannot take any criticism. Feels very put down by it. He is in some ways very needy, but also very independent. Loves to draw and is creative. Smart with words, math and in general. Sometimes procrastinates. He has a hard time if he can't do it perfect and is very hard on himself.

Loves to play with his friends. He's light hearted in general, not a deep thinker and loves a good time and to be social.

I have tried a couple of remedies. I will not say which ones at this time so as to not sway your opinion. But I am stuck and would appreciate help.

He has the sycotic miasm dominant at this time. There is a strong syphlitic background in the family as well. Family history is very much asthma, heart disease, cancer, allergies.

Thank you.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
The miasm looks more tubercular to me.

Have a look at Tuberculinum.

I feel a SINGLE dose of Tub. 1M would help.

FYI,

the leading symptoms that I went by here are:

Restlessness
Anger
Love for sports

Starts out passionate but then fizzles out
Craving for potatoes
Family history of asthma
Remorseful
Long history of colds
Independent
Not a deep thinker

All of these are covered very well with tuberculinum.

Sameer.

Sameer,

Thanks for your thoughts. Just to clarify, he never gets colds, only sinus congestion or runs, but an actual cold, no.

He is independent but at the same time very dependent on mom and dad and craves their attention.

Sameer,

Thank you for your suggestion.

Just to clarify he does not get colds ever. He has sinus congestion and running nose.

Also, although he is independent, he is very needy of mom and dad and craves their attention.

I have looked at Tuberculinum and then dismissed it for some reasons. I will look again.

If there are any more suggestions from anyone else, I would appreciate it.

In the meantime, I will look at Tub again.

Thank you.

Even after the clarifications you gave, Tuberculinum is the remedy I would pick.

This is because , he is bright, has a highly active mind, and gets easily bored with things. He also suffers from impulsiveness. He also gets remorseful. He has temper problems and a family history of asthma. The theme of restlessness about everything is the most dominant one here and this is restlessness is the essence of Tuberculinum.

Sameer,

Actually, I was reading and revisiting about Tub as I'm writing. Thanks for the new set of eyes.

hi, yes Tub does seem the best remedy...however the side effects of this remedy in high potencies should be avoided in children as it can be very nasty...i suggest you try another tact...ask your child 'How do you know when to know that you know that you are loved?'...you will discover something ...you will discover his love language..some of us feel loved if we see people doing stuff for us others feel loved if they are told often some just need hugs...a person who needs to be told to feel loved will feel unloved even if they got a hug from all the people they loved and a stranger came along and said i love you or you are so lovable and they would feel more loved by the stranger...think about it...peace&love...vern

I would agree with Sameer's diagnosis, there is almost certainly something Tubercular at work here.

Tuberculinum may indeed be indicated, but I would not actually begin treatment with this remedy, it should only be used if other remedies fail, and there are strong indications for it's use.

I see much Phosphorus in your sons case, also perhaps some Silicea, and I would try these first before using nosodes.

Thanks Dr. Organon !

I felt that Phos people are a little more good natured than the patient under question :)

Do we also have angry, headstrong , rude children, who lash out verbally needing Phosphorus ?

Not the tubercular types, especially in children.

Absolutely, they can be very irascible and volatile children indeed.

Thank you for the information !

I did not know this .

Hi,

Thanks for the help.

I'm a little afraid to do the nosodes since I'm a beginner.

Does anybody see Lach or Thuj? What does a Thuj or Lachesis child look like?

He also has smelly feet that perspire.

Asthma though is major problem, food allergies and nasty sometimes.

He always says 'You don't spend any time with me.' Wants me to play games, etc. No matter how much, it's never enough.

Also, maybe Medorrhinum, another nosode.

Hello again Maryo, and this is a wise stance on your part. Nosodes are most definietly not something which should be played around with, especially by amateurs...

I do not see either Lachesis or Thuja from the above, which are predominantly anti-syphilitic and anti-sycotic anyway, and I see no evidence of either in your son's case. Thuja should also be used with great caution, as it is probably the deepest acting remedy in our entire materia medica, and not one which should be applied without very good indication.

Silicea would probably be the outstanding remedy here now, in view of the above further information, although I would still keep Phosphorus in mind.

'He also has smelly feet that perspire.'

(Also taking into account other info....)

Then it is Silicea !!
