Abdominal cramps
My daughter 12 yrs old, has been complaining of severe stomach cramps, wandering, non-continuous,intermittent pain, since yesterday morning.tried giving her pudin hara, ginger etc but they have made no difference.
no loose motions, very mild fever(upto 100) at times, it could e a mild gastro-intestinal infection i guess (we had some food outside)
please suggest.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Give her mag.phos 6x , 4 tablets dissolved in luke warm water as a dose.
Repeat every hour, and taper off as the intensity and frequency come down.
Use maximum six doses, and come back if the problem still lingers on.

Hi,
nux vomica is good affinity for digestive tract as you mention you eat food out side so this is more effective then Mag phos.
thanks.

This is the dilemma you face ,if you want treatment on a forum. : )
Any way Nux.v complaints are normally associated with 'ineffectual desire for stool.' and there is ameiolaration after stool.
If these modalities are present, it is no doubt a good medicine for stomach disturbances.
In the absence of the above guiding indications,I suggest to try mag.phos first, 6 doses. It should resove the problem.

colocinth's pain is much more severe. The patient bends down, keeps applying pressure over the painful area.
Dioscorea is just opposite. The pains are relieved by stretching the body out, rather than bending double.
Check your spellings of medicines, before you post. It is important as patients are not familiar with these names, and can neither spot the referred medicine in literature, nor will be able to buy it, in case required.

My dear friend
I never said Mag.phos works 100% for all abdominal pains.
Mag.phos is suggested mainly because of the spasmodic nature of the complaint.
Observe her words..
The pain is non continuous intermittent..

given 2 doses of magphos6x as advised.
yes the pain is severe spasmodic, non-continuous, intermittent accompanied with mild fever.
a little relief comes when she lies down on her stomach, but this is not always so.

How is her thirst? Any symptoms of diarrhea?
What is the frequency of these cramps?
How is her mood when she gets these cramps?
Stop giving mag.phos.
