Psoriasis is a obstinate skin condition in which the red patches of various sizes skin develops on the skin that are covered with dry, silvery scales. Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease that got its name from the Greek word meaning, "itch."
In psoriasis the skin becomes inflamed and red eruptions appear on the surface of the skin that begin to itch excessively. These areas form thickened areas (plaques) that are covered with silvery scales over the reddened lesions. The skin at the joints may crack. The Psoriatic Nail: About 50 percent of persons with active psoriasis have psoriatic changes in fingernails and/or toenails. In some instances psoriasis may occur only in the nails and nowhere else on the body. Nail changes in psoriasis fall into general categories that may occur singly or all together:
• The nail plate is deeply pitted or depressed • The nail has a yellow to yellow-pink discoloration • White areas appear under the nail plate. There may be reddened skin around the nail. • The nail plate crumbles in yellowish patches (onychodystrophy) • The nail may be entirely lost.

My mother has psoriasis to the point where her organs have been affected (by the medicine that she's taken, I think). She's tried EVERYTHING and is now on meds that essentially make her sick but clear up her skin to a reasonable level. The only other thing that worked was an extreme change in her diet, but she didn't want to keep that up.
What potency and what course of dosage would you recommend for her?

roxanne---do not confuse shamid's speech with prescription--many other remedies can treat psoriasis--why he make not clear or answer himself--maybe just like speeches--
nasmate---symptoms always guide to remedy choice
difference between ecema and psoriais
ill-ness name not matter---but if excema is suppressed often see asthmatic condition occur---psoriasis when suppressed often go to joints--arthritic condition
still names no matter--only symptoms

Sulphur is indicated when skin is dry, scaly, and unhealthy; every little injury suppurates.
In chronic cases Sulphur should be given in high potency like 10M or CM only one dose for one month.

Take one dose of Sulphur 200 and repeat the same after 7 days.
Please do remember! Homoeopathic medicines are very sensitive, keep the medicines away from light, and all homoeopathic medicines must be kept away from aromatic substances and perfumes., avoid eating mint-flavored sweets, gums and avoid touching the medicines, avoid smoking or drinking coffee when you are taking homoeopathic remedy.

Dear Dr. Hamid,
I am having Psoriasis for last 2 years. Silvery scales (with red base) come up at places on my back and thighs. There is no itching at all. On applying Clop-MG ointment, these go away, but reappear at some other places within 2-3 weeks. I am having dandruff on scalp and even on my eye-lids. I have frequent problem of cold and cough.
What do you suggest, considering, there is no itching?

Yes, it is perfectly safe to do so. However, you should not attempt to reduce your other medication without supervision from your doctor, and if you seek any advice about your health problem you may consult your health care first or consult registered qualified Homoeopathic physician near to you.

SULPHUR: When carefully selected remedies fail to produce a favorable effect, especially in acute diseases, it frequently serves to rouse the reactive powers of the system; clears up the case (in chronic diseases, Psor.). Scrofulous, psoric, chronic diseases that result from suppressed eruptions (Caust., Psor.). Relations. - Complementary: Aloe, Psor. Ailments from the abuse of metals generally. Compatible: Calc., Lyc., Puls., Sars., Sep. Sulph., Calc., Lyc.; or Sulph., Sars., Sep. frequently follow in given order. Calcarea must not be used before Sulphur. Sulphur is the chronic of Aconite and follows it well in pneumonia and other acute diseases.

Remember that when a remedy works there can be a temporary return of symptoms before the problem improves. The aggravation is your body responding to the remedy energy pattern.
| Re: Sulphur A great remedy for Psoriasis! | From bandarbabu2000 [Log on to view profile] | on 2004-10-11 |
Don't do anything to disturb the action of the medicine.Your aggravation will go away in about 2 weeks maximum.Wait patiently.
| Re: Sulphur A great remedy for Psoriasis! | From vaibhavk [Log on to view profile] | on 2004-10-11 |
It's already more than two weeks.. Did not subside.
| Re: Sulphur A great remedy for Psoriasis! | From bandarbabu2000 [Log on to view profile] | on 2004-10-11 |
My advice is if you can wait, wait for another week.
If the situation is unberable, try your normal allopathic medicines, which helped you in the past.
Did you stop your allopathic medicines after taking this remedy?Dr.Hamid asked you not to stop them.
Pl.come back
