SAFE to use together????

Is it safe to use Silicea AND Nat Mur at the same time??

  healme on 2009-07-29
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
it depends on the ways it has been prescribed. so please specify how are you taking it.

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
it wasn't prescribed. I have both and am trying to cure this oily face as well as pimples on back, shoulders, and neck. The first day I took the silicea it seemed to make a difference as in my face did not oil as as usual. But now it is. I tried Nat Mur for a week and it did not make any difference, so I wondered if the combination would work.

healme last decade
combinations seldom works, so stick on with only one medicine, judge which medicine is working and just hold on to it, combining or adding many medicines for one problem or a person is not homeopathy, atleast classical homeopathy.
So hold on to the medicine you think which works or worked for you.
thanks.

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
hey i understand that you have also started a thread about oily face, seeing that i conclude that you are fully confused with regards to the dosage and the repeation of the medicine, remember homeopathy does not treat the disease it treats the person, so before you take any medicine you have to be satisfied that the medicine suits you well, so you will have to describe your problem in detail and then also describe about yourself as a person like your anger, anxiety, reactions to situations, emotions etc, once we have the details we will be able to get a better picture and then prescribe you a better remedy, and also dosage and repeatition etc depends on the details you furnish.
so please do that before you take any medicines.
Homeopathy is never a trial and error method('if silicea does not work try nat mur', it is a system with specific rules and it has to be bound for a better cure.
Best wishes.

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
yes I am confused. I read about the person that silicea and nat mur describe and from what I read they sound like me.

I have been dealing with oily face for 11 years since birthing my son. Hair went from straight to wavy. I spot bleed about 2 weeks about 2 weeks of every month. I am usually cold, especially my hands. I am very laid back and calm. I don't anger easily. I can hold back sometimes for a long while and then blow up. I can be perfecionistic, a tad OCD. BP yesterday was 80/50. I am very lean and physically fit. I eat healthy, no meat except seafood. The pimples on the back are something new within the past year. Some just feel like little bumps all over, and others are big and red but not itchy or painful. The ones I get on my shoulders tend to itch a little. I don't get sick. I am happy but slightly stressed being a single mother of 2, working full time, and going to school fulltime.

Did I answer your questions?
Thanks

Dr. Bagyavasan,

I have stopped taking both of the silicea and the Nat Mur since reading your post. I just hope I answered enough questions for you. If not I can answer more, if that will help?

healme last decade
Yes you have given me some details but we may have to evaluate you more, but meanwhile i understand silicea has been working for you isnt it? so i suggest you continue silicea once more (but let me know first what potency and dosage you took), and then i will get back to you with a better medicine, so i suggest you let me know about the dosage of silicea.

I have a small container of the little pellets 200C. I was taking 4 of them before bedtime and 4 in the morning. The instructions on the container said 4 pellets 3x a day and then longer periods of time between doses as symptoms decrease. So I noticed a decrease in symptoms after the 1st day so I only took it 2x a day, but then after about a week, it seemed like my face started going back to oily again. I can smell the oil on my face and it drives me crazy. I take tissues all day at work and have to continually wipe my face. At 40 I didn't think I would have facial oil and pimple problems.
Thanks you so much for responding to me, I appreciate your guidance! : )

Dr. B,

I forgot to tell you I also have the small container of little pellets 200C of Nat Mur. I have not taking anything since Friday 7-31-09. I also thought of another symptom that may or may not make a difference in what you decide, but I also lose a good bit of hair everyday. I am not balding at all, but I do get a handful a day out. This also began after I had my son 11 years ago along with the oily face and pimples. The texture of my hair actually changed from straight to wavy, some even kinky looking. Hope that helps. I feel like a weird case! I just had my yearly check up and was told my symptoms are peri menopause. (I didn't think that hit 29 year olds! Thats how old I was with my son)

Dear healme,
Thanks for the information and more over the symptoms are not showing any regular pattern, what i suggest you is that you take only one dose of silicea 200C early morning empty stomach tomorrow and then just wait for one week, we will see what difference you get, then in the mean while try filling out this form for us, so that we get a better understanding about you and your case.
Thanks.

Oily face, hair texture change, pimples, began immediately following the birth of my son 11 years ago. My hair texture went from straight to wavy with lots of kinky (almost public looking) hairs while I was in the hospital after my son was born. Over the last 11 years the kinky type hairs have lessened, but the weird wavy frizzy hair is still here. The oily face was VERY oily for about a year maybe 8 years ago, then it got less but never went back to normal (just normal, not oily or dry). In the last 2 or 3 years the facial oil seems to be getting heavier again and I can smell the oil (bacteria gases from the oil I believe) and I can see the oil in my ears too. I also noticed my nasolabial folds have suddenly deepened and the skin there often looks pinkish (like the skins was rubbed, but it wasn't). There doesn't seem to be a pattern, but all the symptoms seem hormonally related.

I have seen your case, there are many diversions to get to a remedy, what i suggest is that you take one dose of sulphur 200C in the first day morning, then the next day take silicea 200c only one dose both in the early morning empty stomach, wait for just one week and then let me know the changes.
Thanks.

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
Hi Dr. B,

I have ordered the sulphur per your instructions, and I will take as you said as soon as it arrives. In the meantime, I did take one early morning dose of the silicea on Monday as you suggested and nothing since then. Hopefully by next Monday, I will have the sulphur and be able to do your next request.

When you say 'I have seen your case', does that mean you have seen and treated someone else with my strange combination of symptoms before, or did you just mean that you read over the information I provided? Just curious.

I don't know if it makes difference or not, but I thought I would mention that I test positive for genital herpes. I don't get outbreaks and I have actually taken a mineral supplement over the past year to try and eliminate the virus (without success, I just took and IgG and my result antibody was higher than before at 9.3). Just in case that would affect anything.

I'll keep you posted in a week!
Thank you

hey 'I have seen your case' i ment i read your description. but your combination-no.
as i told you do not expect any change as soon as you take the medicine, it will take time to see the changes and once you see any change it will be permanent.

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
Hey Dr. B,

I took the early morning dose of sulphur yesterday (Thurs 8-6) and I took the early morning dose of silicea today (Fri 8-7), as you told me to. My face has been just as oily as usual, and even yesterday I felt as though a herpes sore was starting. It seems no sore today, so I don't know if the sulphur brought that up or not. But I will post back to you next Thurday for the 1 week check-up. Are you expecting me to notice anything particular?

healme last decade
Thats good you took the medicines. The herpes might come up a bit, but nothing to worry, all you have to notice is a general well being, along with slight difference in the oily face.

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
Dr. B,

Today is the 7th day following the one day dose of sulphur and the following one day dose of silicea. Oily face has been very as oily as always. I got several cystic type pimples on my back, face, and neck. One thing different I definitely noticed is that I have been dreaming every night this week! I haven't dreamed for a long time!

What should I do next?

healme last decade
Right this goes to show that the medicines are acting at the mind level and your sensory changes are shown in the dreams, is there any particular dream you are seeing?

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
Dr. B,
I am having difficulty remembering the dreams but I do know I am dreaming. They seem to involve conflict and trying to avoid trouble though. I seem to be little moodier too during the day. I am under a lot of stress but typically I don't get moody, this past week I was a bit moody. The oily skin is driving me nuts. What do we do now?
Thanks
Denise

healme last decade
Don worry just hold on, we will get there soon, now take one more dose of silicea 200C tomorrow and then wait, as i told you it has to take time to resolve the problem, and it is a slow process so please be patient.
Thanks.

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
Hi Dr. B.,

I took the one dose of Silicea this past Thursday morning. The dreams seemed to have stopped by then but I have been having a period for the past 4 weeks. I was away at the beach for the last 3 days in a different climate (warmer & beachy) just got home today and have not noticed much oily face. I will be curious to see what happens now that I am back home.

healme last decade
Lets wait and watch since you are back. at present cannot comment on the change but will have to see how you get along form now on.

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
ok Dr. B, I will post in a few days if the oils have increased or decreased. I was also wondering if you believe that my taking the silicea so many times before I connected with you and followed your dosing instructions has anything to do with this long period I am having? I had actually been fairly regular the past 6 months but then began spotting July 17 and have has a full period for the past 6 days (3 weeks spotting and symptoms + 6 days full period) so far and not sure when it plans on stopping....

healme last decade
Hi Dr. B,

Period seems to have finally stopped. Oily face is not as oily as when we started but it is still pretty oily. I can see drops of it in my ears and I dab my face during the day. Today some oil must have gotten in my eye and it burned.

healme last decade
it has been 2 weeks since I took the dose of silicea. Face is still oily, maybe not as much as when we first began, but still too oily (i.e. not normal). Now you said this is a long process... how do you define 'long'? I just want to make sure I don't allow too much time to pass. Thanks
