My toddler needs help - AGAIN Page 2 of 2

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
More symptoms will definitely help.

Meanwhile start Ferr Phos 6X and watch.

I do not have Ferr phos - will order it or check local whole foods. If I do not get 6x - can i get some other potency?

Will start with Nux tonite and report tomorrow. Hoping and praying that this will help him - He is so congested right now. Wanted to add that he is otherwise happy and playful when everyone is around him but will not stay by himself even for a minute alone - starts crying and coughing.

dose with nux

this crying and coughing when alone--child usually not prefer aloneness--when no ill? crying come 1st then coughing?or same time?or cough 1st?..etc?

John Stanton last decade
No, child never likes to stay alone. He is happy is someone is around him or he keeps on asking to be held or picked up, he doesnot like playing alone - he is very clingy by nature he cries and continues to cry if not picked up or made to sit or stay alone. He has been like this forever.

JOhn, Will nux help his fever as well? I am afraid that he might have some infection which is bringing in the fever -

nineclouds last decade
Yes, he cries first and then starts to cough. I tried giving him dinner and he cried, coughed, choked and threw up the food in his mouth. He ate his dinner after he had calmed down.

Ferr Phos 3X/6X/12X should be fine but if you are giving Nux, might as well wait and watch.

His symptoms are a little mixed. Bell and cham also are strongly indicated.

Can you tell us how did it all start? Can an exciting cause be identified?

srisri last decade
Ferr Phos 3X or 6X or 12X will also do. However if you are starting with Nux, might as well observe.

update - I gave him Nux last night. He cried and woke up several times because of his congestion and he still had light fever. Today morning, he woke up and his fever is gone. His congestion is there - I did not expect an overnite miracle either. He is coughing and I can hear it in his chest. HIs mood, appetite etc seems to be normal. He is active and playful. His runny nose is still there - its watery in nature instead of being thick white. He is clingy as usual but I guess its a part of his nature to be like that. What other changes should I report?

srisri - His cold started gradually - with runny nose of watery discharge. Soon he was coughing and then I could hear the rattling. I started this post when I could see greenish discharge from his nose. Is this what you were looking for? No, there was no incident to cause sudden excitement.

How is his thirst? Is he feeling better in open air?

Another Update -
My son had fever again last night. It went up to 100 or so and he was lethargic and cranky, extremely clingy. When he has fever, he wants to be held and rocked. There are no other symptoms except for fever, tired eyes and clinginess. His cough comes on suddenly, mostly in the morning when he wakes up and when he is lying down. It is a deep congested cough - as if the mucus has gone to the chest and he cannot bring it up. He starts crying after coughing - as if it is hurting his chest or throat.
His appetite, thirst, stool and urine is normal. When he has fever or when the fever is about to come, the palms of his hand and feet turn cold - very cold compared to the rest of the body.

nineclouds last decade
Wanted to add - he shows no improvement or detoriation in open air - inface when he goes out, his nose starts secreting mucus and he has watery discharge.

kali bic given on 12/18 for cold with stringy coryza - Fever onset on 12/21 - Nux Vom given on 12/22.

Please give Antimonium Tartaricum 6C. Observe after 1st dose. If improving, no further doses till symptoms recur.

Please read up the remedy to match symptoms. This should take care of recurring colds, cough with little expectoration and fever in children.

My son has no fever again and we are waiting and watching.

I am hoping that both JOhn Stanton and Srisri is reading the post. Let me begin by saying that I am thankful for the advise both of you are giving do not mean any disrespect to either of you. But I am also confused as to whose advice to follow. As I see my toddler I feel Ant Tart is a better match because of his cough which sound deep and it is as if my son is trying to bring it up but unable to do so.
On the other hand, I am ever grateful to John for all his advice and help in the past - not only in this post but in different cases which I have reported. Specially with my toddler, he has been a great great help.

John, on what basis do you suggest Belladonna? HIs hands and feet do get cold when the fever is about to come. I am no homeopath my self and know very little by learning from experience.

If I am to give ant tart, can I give 200c? That is the only poency I have in hand and wont be able to get any other right now because of the holiday season as well as my travel plans. So can I use 200c instead of 6c?

Again, I hope I have not upset anyone in this post - I look forward o guidance and assistance from you.

nineclouds last decade
Ant Tart 200C is perfectly fine.

srisri last decade
i'll make it easy foru--i remove myself from this case---no problem --no upsetness on my part at all...

John Stanton last decade
Nineclouds: You have every reason/ right to question advise given. In a professional forum like this, there is no scope/ reason for getting upset.

Different advises given should be weighed based on the logic/ reasoning given.

John: Please dont do that. It will not only defeat the spirit of the forum but also will deprive Nineclouds of your help. I understand she has very good experience in the past.

The objective is toddler's health and rest are trivial matters.

child HAS BEEN/IS my ONLY interest---dont be confused --by my words--it is best interest as not mix methods--remedy jumping without a plan-- i cannot be of help----i only offered help when it seem there was no solution being offered--butnow--a soultion of ant-t has been decided--i dont see this remedy as next coarse of action---rather than sell my view i rather allow freedom of patient's parent to be in charge ----

i feared exactly this - I was not questioning John's prescription. But I am seeing my baby all the time right in front of me and I felt I should say what I saw. I am not even 1 % educated in homeopathy as you all are - But I have faith in this form of medication or else I would not have been asking for your help for such a long interval instead of going to the doc or ER.
If I am trying to learn, I need to ask as I did and obviously John got upset. I repeatedly said that u have helped me so much in the past - I do not have distrust but oh well ...

I really dont know what else to write.

nineclouds last decade
no worry ----it is ok--is as should be...
what respnse from ant-t?

Nineclouds: Any update?

srisri last decade
Happy New Year everybody!!

I was travelling and did not have access to computer. Anyway, I think the ant-tart worked on him. I needed to repeat the dose once and it took him a while before the mucus loosened up. His cough is better now - its not frequent and it comes a couple of times only in the morning. His sleep, appetite, thirst etc is normal.

Thank you to all the people who helped me here - Srisri and John, Thank you for your time, patience and urge to help mothers like us who feel trapped in the endless cycle of antibiotics and prescription drugs.

nineclouds last decade
I am glad he is better. Ideally we should have given Ant Tart in 6/ 30C first for loosening up the mucus. Then followed up with 200C to finish the cure.

Keep us posted...
