This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
It is strange that some doctors who prescribe here think that chikunguniya is caused by eating chicken and mutton.

Chicunguniya is caused by chicken or mutton only
or beef also

If their ignorance is on that level, we can gauge how useful their prescriptions are going to be.

Many times when asked as to how they arrived at the remedy, many of the prescribers try to wriiggle out, by saying it is my 'clinical experience.'

Don't take it for an answer. The remedy suggestion is to be backed upt either by quotes from materia medica or by repertorial analysis.

Homeopathy is not guessopathy.

These are the guidelines given by ABC for remedy seekers.

Guide to Posting Medical Questions
Homeopathy is very different to conventional medicine in that to be effective, a very large level of detail is required. The more information you can give, the better the information you receive back will be.

In order to get a good quality reply, you will have to give as much of the following information as you can:

Each symptom in as much detail as possible. For example, for a headache, describe the type of pain (ie sharp, dull, stabbing, pulsating etc etc)
Where each symptom is located (ie at right temples)
What first started it off (ie walking in a cold wind)
When it's worse (ie on seeing bright lights, on stepping, before period, etc)
When it feels better (ie lying down in a dark room, when warm, when cold)
Your sleep pattern and details of any recurring dreams.
What you are sensitive to (ie, heat, cold, touch, criticism, etc)
Your state of mind (fears, anxieties, attitudes, moods, etc)
Any desires or aversions for particular foods, and wether certain foods make you feel better or worse.
Details of any major diseases suffered in past.
Detals of any reactions to other medicines taken.
History of homeopathic treatment if any.
All other symptoms you have (ie watering eyes, cold feet, thirst).
If you write it as a list rather than a history of your life spanning many pages, it will be easier to read your post, so you are more likely to receive a response. The more concise you can make it, the better.

Remember, any information you receive back should not be taken as a substitute for professional medical advice. If symptoms persist or worsen, seek professional medical attention.

I rarely see seekers giving atleast this much information.

Please provide as much informatin as you can. The above is the bearest minimum, a prescriber requires to avoid guess work.

Your physical problems definitely have a connection wth your feeelings. Homeopathy treats all the problems together, and not in isolation.

Please tell us all about you.

Your desires, aversions, your preference to hot and cold, your likes and dislikes particularly to food items, along with general issues, your menses if you are a lady, so on and so forth.

Don't leave out anything which seems out of 'normal'.

Please read this to understand how exhaustive the answers need be for selecting a proper homeopathic medicine.

There is no harm provided you do not overuse. constant and Un necessary use can harm some times.

Hi Naveed

I will add a little bit more to what Sajad said.

There is no problem in self prescribing for the acute problems you mentioned as long as you have good reference books.

The intensity of the complaint in acute problems nullifies the effect of homeopathic medicines fairly quickly, and the danger of the medicinal effect getting carried forward is minimal.

That is why, even the repetetion of unchanged potencies are well tolerated in acute problems.

However, there are certain guide lines to remember for acute cases.

Don't give more than six doses of any medicine consecutively. If the problem is not resolved by then, you have to rethink and select another appropriate medicine.

In fevers, and very painful complaints water doses act better than dry doses.

Stop giving the medicine, after an appreciable relief is felt. It may happen after the first dose itself. Don't repeat wth the hope that the minor intensity of the problem, that is left over can be resolved quickly. Many cases are spoiled by such hasty repetetion. Once the amelioration sets in, you have to wait till appreciable aggravation is observed. any progressive amelioration, even though a bit slow, precludes the repetetion of the remedy.

In case you failed to resolve the problem, even after changing the medicine once, seek professional help.

Homeo medicines should never be taken indefinitely, even for chronic cases, that are there since years.

Once the dose is exceeded, you will observe some new symptoms, which you never had earlier.

That is the signal that you have to stop taking any further medicine, and wait for a long time.

If you stop at that point, the medicine will do all the good it can. If you continue to repeat beyond this point, it will hurt you, by grafting its own symptoms, which will be difficult to reverse.

For very sensitive people ,it may happen from the first dose itself, and on the other extreme, if you have absolutely no susceptibibilty to the medicine, nothing may happen even if you use it months together.

In the latter cases it is as if taking water/plain sugar pills.

The later is the reason why some prescribers get away with prescriptions like 'take for few months' without harming the patient.

Their remedy selection is basically so much off the target, it does nothing.

Get your bearings straight.

I never prescribed anything for Chickun guniya.

Read all the threads from the beginning to undersand correctly, and don't shoot off by reading the current page, that too incorrectly. :-)

Every thing is wrong.

First of all this thread is not about Chicungunya.

Second thing is you mentioned my name, as if I prescribed those medicines, which is totally incorrect.

Third thing is you are telling about a medicine already discussed many times, without bothering to see whether the topic you assumed is already covered.

Fourth thing is your attitude to defend the undefendable.

You should have gracely accepted your misunderstanding, and that would have been the end of the matter.

Allopathic medicines too take away pain, some times much faster, but the rebound effects are felt quickly, and the patient is normally worse. They fall into a cycle and can't stop using these allopathic pain killers.

Homeopathic medicines, given by following non homeopathic methods too may provide temporary relief, but in all likely hood may drive in the disease into deeper organs, while the 'present' complaint seems to be under control.

The after effects of suppressing the problem with homeopathic medicines may be felt after considerable gap, some times even after an year.

The effect of practicing with homeopathic medicines without knowing the basics, many times, is to make the patient's condition more complicated in the long run, so much so, many world famous doctors say that they find it easier to bring back the system to helath, if the case comes from allopathic hands, rather than from the hands of these half knowledged prescribers.

They really dread such cases, as the vital force is knocked around brutally, and it needs lot of skill from the prescriber to bring back those cases to normalcy.

If somebody wants to prescribe homeopathic medicines, they should know the philosophy and theory behind homeopathy.

Prescribers having allopathic thinking with homeopathic medicines are doing immense damage to the patients, without their knowing it.

If you are on allopathic medication for problems like diabetes, B.P. etc, there is no need to stop them while taking homeopathic medicines for acute problems.

In fact stopping them means inviting complications. The correct homeopathic medicine works despite the routine allopathic medications you take.

Murthy

gavinimurthy last decade
The mode of action of allopathic and homeopathic medicines is entirely different, so one should not hesitate taking homeopathic medicine with allopathy.
