My friend has gout in his Big Toe, right foot. This is a new problem to him.Is sulphur 30c or Arnica 200C the better choice?
Regards.

I have not the experience in taking his case. Hes a nice guy at work who has come down with gout and was hoping there was something homeopathically for it. Damn, you caught me looking for the quick answer again.lol.

Jay, silicea in lowest potency (best homemade) shows results on gout in long term.

Based on one symptom you have given, colchicum comes to my mind. But a bit of caution'd be exercised while treating gout because suppression may affect heart.
Ledum will do good if the patient simultaneously besetted by gout and cataract.
sometimes mere excess of benzoic acid in stomach may cause gout like symptoms in big toe.
You may want to look up the totality before administering any remedy.

Dear Jay, Maheeru's advice above is pretty on the ball, although 'may' in the last line, should most definitely read 'should'. Any Homoeopathic prescription should be based upong the totality of symptoms. The closer the match the more curative the remedy will be.
Good luck with the choice of remedy ;)
