how to know if a remedy is working?

what kind of signs should i look for to see if a remedy is working? i am on my 3rd remedy in a month now and i am not seeing any mental, emotional, or physical signs with any of them and they all seemed to be the right remedy. what could be happenning here? and what should i be looking for exactly?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
this is the problem when we self prescribe. It is most difficult to be objective and subjective at the same time. When we see a patient in a follow up interview. We may ask them how is this and how is that. And it is funny sometimes because the patient may forget some of there original complaints. When we ask them about it they say oh?! that.. yes I dont have that any more. So you see sometime the change is so subtle. Typically the practitioner is looking for improved well being, sleeping better basically a balancing in energy, taking care of unfinished business, and of course an amelioration of the main complaints(however slight , would indicate a good remedy) Patients often have a way of justifing things not wanting. Follow ups may be a month or more after taking a single remedy, so perhaps you have not given your chosen remedies enough chance, if you have tried 3 different remedies in a single month? You have heard the expression if you choose to represent yourself in court you have a fool for a client. THe same applies to
homeopathy. NO offense we all do it . It just doesnt seem to work very well.
to admit that a remedy is working it can be amusing. Sometimes its like magic but more often it is a subtle improvment.

thanks for the reply. however i am seeing a homeopath who has told me to try one remedy which i didn't seem to respond to for about 2 weeks, then another one, we gave a week, and now i'm on my 3rd remedy and it's been 4 days so far. i am noticing that i am more sleepy at night and i used to be a night owl. so don't know if that could be a good sign.
i was wondering if this is normal for a homeopath to do this? i am getting a little frustrated.

ok, well what if you aren't noticing the subtle changes, but it is working? and you continue taking it because you're not seeing any changes, will it antidote it?
i've been told to do wet doses, putting pellets in bottled water and shaking it each time i take a dose (once a day, a sip). so does this make the potency higher each time i shake it? and if i keep taking it and it's working, what could happen?
sorry if this is confusing, but i'm just as confused.

Hi - your homeopath can give you all these answers. It is best to contact him/her and ask the same questions. Too often patients don't ask questions!!
Cheers

To clarify are you putting pellets in every day? Or did you make up a bottle to be used over a period of time? Is the bottle glass or plastic? Have you been told to merely shake it or bang it on a hard surface? also scale
30c orr...?

i just put pellets in on the first day to be used for however long is needed. the bottle is plastic. i was told to just shake the bottle each time i dose. it's 30c. thanks.

I think I understand . Likely he/she is giving you test doses to find out which remedy is right for you. This is probably why they are changing it after a week or so. Quite often a response is desernable after such a period of time. If the response is good then you may be put on an LM potency or given a higher potency?? Obviously I dont no . Not standard practice(then again what is right) but nothing horribly wrong here that I can see. Good advice above if your concerned talk to the homeopath and get an understanding of long term goals and treatment methods. Because as you have seen repeating and repeating remedies is not really correct.
Just curious- Is this for the treatment of the PID complication you posted before or an acute illness.

Sycotic last decade
yes, this is for the pid that i contracted 12 yrs ago which in turn gave me blocked fallopian tubes.
i don't think she is giving me test doses tho, because each time she says that she thinks this is the right remedy. and i actually have asked to be given a higher dosage like 200c and she says that if i do, it might antidote what i've taken already. i dont know what's going on. i know there can be aggravations when you take a high dosage, but at least i would know that it's working, right?

yes that doesnt fit into the classical model. Idont know.

Dear Seek, when the correct remedy has applied, and this has been prescribed to the correct strength of your individual case, you should experience the effects below, in the order given:

1/. You will feel a general sense of well being, and an increase in general energy.
2/. You will feel better mentally and emotionally, and physical symptoms will become more apparent.
3/. (except in cases of mental illness) These physical symptoms will begin to dissipate.

If you do not experience these things, in order, after the application of a remedy, then the reasons are as follows:
1./ (and most commonly)The remedy is incorrect.
2/. The remedy has not yet been given high enough, and needs to be applied higher (although in this instance you would at least have noticed SOMETHING from lower potencies).
3/. The remedy has been given in too high a potency, and the above will occur once it begins to fade (in this instance though you would be experiencing aggravation of all symptoms).

More often than not though, where this backward (or downward) flow of symptoms not occur, as stated, it is simply due to a wrong remedy selection, and the remedy, if providing any relief, is only doing so in a palliative manner.

I hope this helps.

thank you very much for the info jacob. your post was very helpful. but what if i am taking a remedy and not sure if it's working, if i continue taking it at same dose will it antidote it if it was indeed working?

SeekTheHealer last decade
The remedy should be applied ONCE only (or up to three times on one day), and then wait for a reaction. if you feel nothing whatsoever, and the remedy is from a reputable source, then it is unlikely to do anything in higher potencies, or from continued application.

Also, a remedy should not be continually applied in the same potency anyway, as this will frequently cause the patient to develop symptoms never before experienced (rather than antidoting itself).

The general rules are:
As long as there is improvement, do nothing.
If improvement ceases the remedy should be either given higher, or if there is a very dramatic change in presentation, changed altogether.

...and you're very welcome ;)
