Hi any one can suggest me a supplement

any one can suggest me a suuplement to boost up the immune system

The human immune system is a truly amazing constellation of responses to attacks from outside the body. The immune system is composed of many interdependent cell types that collectively protect the body from bacterial, parasitic, fungal, viral infections and from the growth of tumor cells.

Dear smith.

There a variety of supplements available which are touted as beneficial to the human immune system, but by far the best and most researched of all these are the Chinese and Japanese medicinal fungi.

The research carried out on these substances by the respective Governments is of such a degree ,that in Japan they are actually available through an individuals medical insurance in the same way orthodox drugs are.

They have been found to contain very unique substances which have been dubbed 'Host defence Potentiators', and have been used with sucess in such conditions as Multiple Schlerosis, Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lymes disease, and HIV infection.

There are many varieties of medicinal mushrooms, including Cordyceps, Ganoderma, Waratake, Monkyhead, Wood ear etc etc but by far the most effective all round general immune tonic is Maiitake.

Two main groups of substances have been so far identified in these mushrooms, viz: Beta Glucans, and D-fractions, both of which have been found to be VERY potent immune modulators indeed. In fact so potent is the effect of one of these chemicals, that there is talk of one of the big drug comapnies actually synthesizing this to market as the first ever immune modulating drug. They have also been found to contain groups of chemicals which have a direct effect in increasing energy levels, and increasing resistance to various physical andmental stressors.

Maiitake mushrooms come as liquid extracts, capsules and tablets, and it is the latter that is said to be the most effective, as these are nothing more than the whole dried mushroom. Dose is 1-3grams daily, taken on an empty stomach. The only side effect that has ever been noticed from the use of this substance, in some 2,000 years of use by the orientals, is occassional and very mild stomach cramps and gas, and even these have only been noticed in the higher doses, and dissapear on reducing the dose. They have no known toxicity.

I have personally been taking this supplement during times of stress for almost 10 years now, and in all this time have only had perhaps 5 colds.
