On Decadron, what's best to counter the symptoms?

I was put on Decadron about a week ago, I'm having severe allergic reactions. Basically without it right now, I my throat begins to close up on me. I've got to stay on it for 3 weeks.

My doctor believes the problem is that my body is full of histamine, and has prescribed a lot of other things to help with that. but the symptoms of the steroids are driving me crazy.

One minute I'm euphoric, and high as a kite, the next, I'm sobbing over something I was just laughing over. And I'm having stomach cramps due to it. I've been on steroids before and had all of these problems, but I need to know what might help it. I've looked up the ones on here, and found some, but I wanted to know if anyone had any specific experience with one that worked good with this drug?

Any help is appriciated. There are LOTS of things I'm allergic to, but right now I'm drinking Catnip tea, and, taking Urtica Urens.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
You need help FAST. It is best to STOP your Decadron but you will have to do this in stages by reducing the dose from 1 tablet to 3/4 and then 1/2 and then 1/4 and stop. From what you stated you are having a severe reaction to this Corticosteroid and I am very surprised that you were not warned of the symptoms that is can cause you when you must STOP taking it.

Do you have GERD (Gastro Esophagal Reflux Disease) ?

Do you have any discomfort after meals with a feeling of fullness ?

Do you have any burning sensation in your chest like a heart attack after meals ?

The sensation that you have described of your throat closing up on you is because the gastric juices have damaged the throat muscles and you must take action to stop this condition immediately.

The remedy you must use ASAP is Nat Phos 6x. Dose 4 tablets taken after a meal.

Please respond if you see this post immediately in your own interest.

Agree with Joe here you MUST stop steroids-- but gradual.

The Nat phos could help you.

Okay, I don't think I made myself clear (I apologize. Right now it's very hard explaining my thoughts. x_X )

I was put on the Decadron FOR the allergic reactions. Even Epinephrine was not helping, nor were natural remedies. I was given both and my throat -continued- to try and close up. They didn't want to put me on them because I've had problems with them before. I was taken off of ALL of my normal medications, so we've ruled them out as the cause.

I'm not having heartburn, or GERD (I have a history of it, but no trouble with it right now... )It's just severe cramps in my intestines, about 1-2 hours after I eat and take my Decadron.

It's either stay on the steroids at home, or go back into the hospital and be more miserable. We've found nothing that seems to help the allergic reaction other than the steroids.

We know the throat closing up is my allergies, but since the steroids I'm not having that anymore. I just want something to help me deal with the stomach cramps and mood swings that come with the steroids, until I can get off of them in 2 weeks.

Again, I apologize for any confusion. :/
