do not believe them!

aNTIBIOTICS EVENTUALLY MAKE CHRONIC CONDITIONS WORSE!

Scientists have opened up the possibility of a new treatment for asthma after trials showed that an antibiotic could shorten the recovery time after a bad attack from eight days to five.

Severe asthma attacks have previously been linked with viral infections, and therefore thought resistant to antibiotics. But the discovery suggests bacteria may also play a part in some attacks.

At hospitals around the world 278 people were involved in a trial within 24 hours of having a severe attack. Half of the group was given the antibiotic Telithromycin and the other half a placebo.

Those on the drug recovered in five days compared with the placebo group's eight days. The improvements in symptoms and lung function were twice as great in those on the antibiotic.

Sebastian Johnston, a professor at Imperial College London, who led the study, published today in the New England Journal of Medicine, said they were not sure what caused the antibiotic to be effective but the study indicated it was beneficial. There was still some way to go before treatment might be available for asthma sufferers; the drug is not yet licensed for use in the UK for asthma.

In the UK 5.2 million people suffer from asthma and there are 72,000 emergency admissions to hospital a year following attacks. Most of the acute asthma attacks are thought to be linked to viral infection.

The researchers said the apparent success of the antibiotic could arise from its impact on the bacteria Chlamydophila pneumoniae and Mycoplasma pneumoniae. In the trial 61% of the patients tested positive for one of these bacteria. The scientists also believe the anti-inflammatory properties of Telithromycin may play a part in shortening recovery time.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Whatever happened to smoking a little rabbit tobacco/cudweed tea (Gnaphilium obtusifolium) or drinking a little mullein tea? That would much simpler and inexpensive, cudweed grows wild in many places and smells good too.

A better, lasting, safe and non-toxic cure for asthma would be 1000mg of vitamin C intravenously or intramuscularly repeated every six to twelve hours. For infants or small children only 500mg of vitamin C intramuscularly repeated every six to twelve hours.
Complete clinical and x-ray response should be seen after only three to seven vitamin C injections.

If the patient is cyanotic (turning bluish due to low oxygen) it is suggested the first treatment be 2000mg of vitamin C, followed by 1000mg of vitamin C thereafter every six hours. The patient should respond within 30 minutes and have improved breathing, plus the cyanosis should clear.

LARGE doses of vitamin C (1000mg to 20000mg), can CURE many viral diseases believed to be incurable.

God bless,
Tim

Not too sure about that

It is precisely this form of medication as advocated by TimCam that I consider dangerous when promoted on a public forum such as this, which in any case is dedicated to Homeopathy.

I cannot believe for a moment that Vitamin C in large doses of 1000mg injected intravenously or intramuscularly into an asthmatic adult or infants or small children at half dose can have the slightest effect on their spasms in the throes of an attack. It is obvious that the author has not seen an asthmatic adult during an attack as when the patient cannot breathe and is gasping for his next breath, it is unlikely that any doctor or a hospital will use his advice to inject Vitamin C. The standard procedure is to nebulize the patient with the usual steroidal drugs and this usually opens up the airway and enables him to breathe in a short time.

The Homeopathic remedy that can help him almost instantly is Ars Alb 200c. This usually clears up the airway in about 20 minutes when the patient can breathe freely. The dose that I recommend is 4 globules under the tongue.

This should be followed by Nat Sulph 6c taken in the Split dose where the remedy which is made by dropping 3 pellets of the remedy into 500ml spring water is used in the following manner after succussion (shaking the bottle vigourously). A teaspoonful of the liquid is taken from the bottle and mixed with a half cup of water and the patient sips a teaspoonful twice daily for the first week and then just once daily thereafter.

Many patients who have suffered from chronic asthma for many years who were depending on multiple inhalers and steroids for their daily survival are now free of all drugs including this remedy Nat Sulph and can be considered cured.

Hello walkin and Joe De Livera.

I understand your scepticism and disbelief at the usefulness of vitamin C.

Possibly an explanation needs to be put forward with same ground work.

The human body does not have the ability to synthesize 'any' vitamin C whatsoever, and all must be gained via ingested food or supplementation. However this is not the case with most animals. Generally, nearly all mammals, reptiles, and amphibians have the ability to synthesize at least some vitamin C. Most mammals synthesize vitamin C in their livers, and other animals, primarily reptiles and amphibians, can achieve this synthesis in their kidneys. This ability is felt to be completely lacking in humans, primates, fruit bats, and guinea pigs.
Interestingly, the very fact that the guinea pig cannot synthesize any vitamin C is one of the primary reasons that it has served scientific research so well.

Chatterjee et al. (1975) examined the abilities of different species of animals to produce their own vitamin C. Among the mammals tested, they found that goats were especially capable of producing significant amounts of vitamin C. For example, the efficient vitamin C producing adult goat can synthesize more than 13000 mg of vitamin C daily to maintain its optimal health when NOT facing any significant challenges to its health. Even more amazingly, goats are believed by some to produce as much as 100000 mg of vitamin C daily when faced with life threatening degrees of infectious or toxic stress.

The specific genetic defect that prevents humans from internally synthesizing vitamin C is the lack of a liver enzyme known as L-gulonolactone oxidase (GLO). GLO is the last of a sequence of liver enzymes that ultimately transforms glucose into vitamin C. Interestingly, the actual GLO genome, or sequence of coding DNA, has been identified to be present in humans. For unclear reasons, this segment of human DNA remains "untranslated", i.e. the recipe for GLO is present in humans but remains unprepared.

Considering the two previous passages one must consider what the correct levels of vitamin C SHOULD be, both in the cells and blood.

This "author" HAS seen an asthmatic child, unfortunately, BUT through the treatment of my youngest daughter by a Homeopathic doctor (cured in two days) my eyes are now OPEN to ALL logical and sane treatments.

Hello Tim

I think the skeptism comes from not totally believing that an injection of vitamin C can give instant relief while someone is having a severe attack where instant relief is required.

We would think that something that can have an instant affect on the lungs is required while someone is being suffocated with an attack.

I have heard of people curing themselves of deseases by taking very large doses of vitamins C. That could include asthma. As soon as you wrote your post, I printed it out and have made notes.

I am interested in knowing what remedy cured your daughter of asthma?

Tim,
It is almost impossible to cure well established asthma in few days. She may have some other minor problems of respiratory tract. However No body can ignore the efficacy of vitamin c.

Have no doubt of the efficiency of Vut C .

My doubt is the size of the intake-- this can overpower the body,s ability to deal with overdoses.
