Update:
Today my son hit the teachers again.
This morning he was still asleep at 8.30 and I had to wake him up to go to school, maybe he was still tired but still not justified.

At home he seems better.

He still falls asleep at 9.

His sleep seems almost the same, still trouble to unwind but yesterday and today he is sleeping longer (waking up past 8 am instead of 7) which though makes him be late for school.

Behavior: at home he is behaving a little better but it could be because a few weeks ago, after he spit and hit me on the head I gave him a spank (which I regret) but now he stops himself if he is about to hit me.
I did follow your advice since though and I am trying to have a lot of patience with him. I sing to him if I see he is getting upset and he responds better.

Unfortunately I am not with him in school so I can't help and the teachers are not experienced enough to know how to deal with him and when he gets upset and tries to run out of class they try to physically stop him by hugging him, he usually enjoys hugs although not when he is in his upset mood, if he is upset and you try to stop him his hand will hit as an impulse.
Although on a positive note it seems like he is not spitting in school anymore.

I spoke to the teachers and told them to be patient and to sing to him and gave them other ideas and tips as well.

He seems to get overwhelmed by crowded noisy rooms.

The transitions are still difficult for him.

Today he hit me and kicked me and spot on me after I forced him to take a shower because he still wanted to play (was already late).

I gave him another weekly chamomilla tonight.

Update the school once again called me because my son hit the teachers.
I am removing him from that toxic school and trying another one.

At home he is calmer. Hasn't spit but when we snap at him suddenly (don't touch!) He tends to have the hitting inpulse going.

He hit me again 2 days ago when he was turning on and off a light multiple times (he doesn't usually do that, was a one time thing) and he hit me in response.

At home it doesn't happen on a regular basis, in school was happening almost every day. When I asked him why he got upset yesterday in school, he said the teachers didn't let him talk or play ... but I know there us more to it he can not articulate and express.
Teachers kept on blaming him of hitting without telling me what caused it.
After they called me in panic, when I got there he was sitting nicely with the other kids and joining an activity.
I strictly believe that the teachers attitude caused his distress in the first place.

I have rescue remedy and I usually use it myself. I used to give it to my son during his night terrors.

I am taking him to a occupational therapist tomorrow to see if they can help him further as well. I think there may also be some sensory issues involved as his class was jn a hot basement he might have felt trapped and get in distress.

I hope I did the right thing by getting him out of that school, all I want is for my son to be happy but I am scared switching schools will confuse him more. I feel like a failure for letting this happen.

One uodate: last 2 nights ge has been waking up around midnight crying like having a bad dream and needing to use the restroom (a lot of pee).
I am not sure if they are the night terrors that are back or its just because of the need to empty the bladder in his sleep.
He calms down after using the restroom (while still sleeping).

We went to see a new school today and because he dunt listen to the teacher they did not accept him. I didn't tell him he wasn't accepted obviously but I let him know that he has to listen to the teachers.
