PLEASE HELP! Epilepsy problems

I am 24 year old female, recently married. I have been dealing with epilepsy for the last 4.5 years. I have been controlling it through diet and natural supplements very well, but still have the occasional episode.

I have narrowed it down to very hormonal related and triggered by high starch, high carb foods.

I would love suggestions for any homeopathic remedies that could help with my situation!

THANK YOU! Here are my answers:

1. Describe your main suffering?
Epileptic seizures. They begin with moderate to violent twitches. My eyes will flutter and limbs will jerk uncontrollably. If it progresses to a full episode, I will black out and convulse for about 30-60 seconds, waking confused and in pain.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
None, other than what is related to the epilepsy.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
Emotional stress. I worry about the effects it may have on future pregnancies and with future children (I currently have never been pregnant). I worry about my safety while driving or doing daily tasks. It is hard to fellowship with my loved ones over food because of the strict limitations I have put on myself with my diet.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?
I jerk and twitch uncontrollably and easily get confused. I quickly forget what I am doing or what I’m talking about. At best I may end up with a headache, and at worst, a full seizure will ensue.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?
I first noticed the twitching when I was about 13-14 years old. I don’t recall having any full seizures until I was 19.
I was immunized as a child. I also had a bad case of viral conjunctivitis when I was about 10 years old (I’ve been wondering if that might be a connection).

6. Which time of the day you are worst?
Early mornings prove the worst. Also right before, during, or right after my menstrual period.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?
Eating high starch foods or high carb foods aggravate it. I currently avoid all grains, potatoes, squashes, meat/animal products, sugar, caffeine, and most fruit. I live on veggies, nuts and beans.
I have noticed that coconut oil/milk helps, so I eat a lot of those. Also using a progesterone supplement cream has made a big difference.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?

Yes. MY hormones seem to play a big role. Stress has played a role, although not so much recently. If I am worried about not getting somewhere on time or making someone unhappy with me, it can trigger things.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
I have not noticed weather playing a big role, but I generally feel happier during warm, sunny weather. I do not like the cold.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

I am generally very happy. I enjoy a full life with my husband. I can get irritated by my extended family or other people in my life, but it usually doesn’t stick around.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?
I don’t notice a difference.

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?
Yes. But I don’t like to be stressed over. Too much attention is a bad thing.

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?
I have always been sensitive to light, especially flashing light.

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc?
I bite my nails terribly. I do talk to myself some, mostly when trying to figure out how to converse with another person (how to communicate something to someone). I sweat when I’m nervous.

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?
I love my husband so much. He is the best thing in my whole world.
My brothers are cause of great stress to me.
My husband’s family is very dear to me. I love them and get along with them very well.
I have some very good friends. None that I see very often.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?
I fear having a seizure with a baby in my arms and dropping him. I fear getting in a car accident. I fear being alone when I have a seizure and hurting myself beyond repair. I also fear house fires.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?
I crave crunchy things, like chips. Also sweet things.
I do not like bananas, or anything fishy.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive? Normal.

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive? Normal. I eat a lot.

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand? From what it seems, my body does not like high starch, high carb food.

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs? Only when I’m nervous or overheated. I sweat a lot under my armpits.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type? Very good, I go at least once a day. Generally light in color, not hard, and over in a less than a minute.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
I sleep well, I usually roll around for a little while before falling asleep. I seem to prefer to lay on my stomach with one leg bent up, but sometimes awake on my back.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general? Yes.

20. How do you think you are different from others, if at all?
I don’t feel that my problem with epilepsy is a lot like others, because it is not a common or everyday occurrence. I have one every, maybe 4-6 months, if that. It generally does not interfere with my lifestyle and for the most part I am able to carry on with my life normally. But the times that it does interfere really knock me for a loop.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?
I have noticed great improvement from progesterone lotion, as well as Vitamin B-12 Methylcobolomin. I have experimented with a few others here and there, but I generally come back to those.

22. What major diseases are running in your family?
None that I can think of. Except Alcoholism.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance
I am short, 5’2”, about 135 pounds. Straight, light brown hair and blue eyes. I am chunkier around my thighs and middle. Relatively large breasted. Roundish face. Almost almond shaped eyes.

24. (ONLY FOR FEMALES)

Please answer the following questions:
(Please give details of your past menstruation if you have attained menopause.)
- Are the periods early, regular or late in general? How long do they last?
My periods are spot on. Almost always 28 days and last 5-7 days.

- Do you suffer from any kind of physical or mental discomfort before, during or after the periods?
MY breasts will get tender, and I may get irritable or cry easily.

- Is the flow scanty, normal or excessive?
Very normal. Heavy at first, then gently tapering off.

- Is the blood thick bright red or pale watery?
Thick, bright red.

- Do you notice any clots in the flow?
Yes, especially the third of fourth day of my period. Very thick clots.

When did the nervousness start?
Moreso during teen years...I get nervous easily, and can be very shy.

What was happening in your life before you hit teenage?
No. I never had any twitching before 13-14.

How was/is your relationship with mom/dad/siblings? Particularly during pre-teenage years?
Preteen years were very good, I was homeschooled so I maintained a good relationship with my mom and siblings. Things began to get stressful around age 13 when my grandparents died and I stepped up to take care of my younger siblings more. MY parents almost divorced at least once. But they are good now.
MY relationships with them now are better than ever because I have moved 2.5 hours away.

Seizers are right sided or left sided or equally there on both sides?
Equal.

Do you feel nauseous or have vomitings during seizer?
No.

What triggered seizers? They can not come out of the blue? Please think about something that happened just before the first seizer? Some major shock, grief episode, etc. Please give answer in detail, i will analyze case tomorrow and prescribe.

I realize that seizures cannot come out of the blue. Which is why my problems are so confusing to me. The only thing that I can think of is the time during about age 13, when my grandparents died and it was a very stressful time for my family. I was given a lot of responsibility at such an early age in watching over my siblings while my parents took care of business and were away many evenings. I did find myself very stressed over those times, worrying that I wasn't taking care of them properly and that I would be in trouble when my parents got home. MY siblings were ages 11, 9, 7 and 2.

Right before the very first big seizure, I can pinpoint several things. I was 19, almost 20. I was preparing to go on a trip with my father and brother. I was within a day or two of starting my menstrual period. I ate a large amount of popcorn the night before. I woke at about 4am to get ready to go and went to wake my dad, who was still sleeping. He told me then that we weren't able to go because he was having trouble with his asthma. I of course was upset to not go, and suddenly started jerking violently like I had in the past. My parents put me back in bed and a short while later, my little sister woke them up saying something was wrong with me. Sure enough I was having a seizure.

Other times that have triggered spells have been related to stress, but only when combined with wrong food and menstruation. Its never just the stress, or just the menses. Or just the food. ITs always a combination.

Was there any head injury?

Do you have strong cravings for orange juice?

Do you like new challenges?

Do you like to change places frequently?

Zady101 last decade
The only thing I can think of was when I was about 10-11 years old, I fell off a log about 5-6 feet into some brush in the woods. I do not believe I hit my head on anything because the brush cushioned my fall. I could be mistaken because I do not remember.

I actually do not like orange juice very much.

New challenges...well, within reason. I am usually very nervous at first when trying new things. I like the comfort of familiarity.

Changing places...mmm...I like to travel and see new things, and can be fidgety, but generally am very comfortable where I'm at.
