Joepathy - possible GERD/indigestion - Baby

Dear Joe de Livera,

I have read about your Joepathy for GERD for babies and just need a few clarifications.

This is a description of the symptoms of my 12 week old baby. I exclusively breastfeed him (I had antiobiotics after birth and am also on Thyroxine).

- Never seems to be hungry even after many hours without food (has gained very little over the weeks)
- his symptoms started at 4 weeks and it has been inconsistently going on throughout days and nights (no real pattern (it also does not matter how long after a feed it is)
- foul smelling gas and stool
- stool quite infrequently (no constipation though) but then can have 3 in a day
- hardly brings up food but if so burps are very wet
- if he spits up (very rarely) it can be quite a long time after feeds and is always acidic in smell
- very restless disturbed sleep - therefore very tired most of the time
- his tummy now feels soft for the past 4 weeks but problem got worse/persists
- always sounds congested (breathing seems inhibited)
- bouts of unexplained crying
- resists burping often and arches his back
- frequents hiccups and sneezing

There are no external markers (e.g. spit ups) but i guess it is silent reflux.

I have received Nat Phos 6x from Helios in the UK (soft tablets).

These are my questions:

Is the version from Helios the Biochemic Cell Salt?

Should I start with half a tablet for him?

I also want to get Arnica 30c (for the wet dose). What exactly need I say to get what is required and in which quantity (is 5ml enough?).


I have now started the Nat Phos myself but am apprehensive yet giving it to the baby.


I am going to the doctor but by all means want to avoid any medication. I am giving a daily probiotic but I think his digestion is so messed up it doesn't do anything yet.

I would be EVER so grateful if you could reply. I am just scared as he appears to be fine but his sleep and lack of appetite is absolutely worrying.
