Enlarged adenoids, Agraphis nutans?

Hello, I am looking for advice on homeopathics and enlarged adenoids.
My 18-month old son was diagnosed (via scope) with enlarged adenoid (90% blockage). He was also diagnosed at 8weeks old, with acid reflux via a scope as well.
He has always been a mouth-breather with heavy snoring while sleeping on his back. Side sleeping still produces snoring, but not as bad. He seems to inhale food bits while eating and sounds congested constantly.
When I read about homeopathic remedies for adenoids, he has no other symptoms described. He is completely 'normal' in every other way. No indication of learning or growing issues due to the adenoid. Granted, he had sleep issues as a baby and probably still has them now (waking often and apnea). I ordered some agraphis nutans from the internet as it seemed to be a popular choice. I also started him on Calcarea Phos 6x (recommended dosage) as its another one I saw that was readily available. I figured if it didn't help with the adenoid it might help his teething/drooling. Although I think the drooling is partly due to the adenoid.
he goes back to the ENT in May for a hearing test to see if the adenoid has affected his hearing (slight fluid in ear at last appt).
Really I think the reflux caused the adenoid to enlarge and although the reflux is gone, the adenoid now needs to be shrunk. I don't think there is any other underlying issue that is causing the adenoid to remain this size.
I Do not want to mix the agraphis nutans with the calcarea phos...I don't take medicating lightly. Especially since he cannot tell me what his issues really are (maybe he has headaches or sore throats). Although he is the happiest little guy I've ever seen, very content, friendly boy. Just the adenoid issue. I Don't want him to have surgery as suggested by the ENT.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Calc Phos seems to be the right remedy. What are potency and frequency were your giving it to him?

potency is 6X, frequency has been 2 tabs, 3-times daily. I usually give them to him before each meal.
I have been administering these tabs for 4 days, and have not seen a change in his snoring/drooling/snorting/congestion sound. But, I have noticed his body seems to be expelling some of the mucous caught up in his sinuses/throat. Occassionally he'll have a dried chip/chunk that comes out of his nose.

My tooth has been hurting the last few weeks, so I took one adult dosage of the calcara phos. 2 days ago and the tooth hasn't hurt since! I'm sure it's helping with any teething issues he's been having if nothing else.

What about this Agraphis nutans that's coming in the mail? I worry about mixing because I really don't know much about homeopathics. I worry about negative affects...he can't talk yet to tell me if it makes him feel bad or good!

Potency of CALC PHOS is right to start with, especially if he seems to be responding. You could raise it gradually to 30CH whenever you notice the symptoms reaching a plateau.

Agra Nutans is also given for almost the same symptoms as Calc Phos. It is said to have curing effects on adenoids and nasal discharges due to colds etc.

However, calc phos has a larger gamut of symptoms including that in teeth and ear troubles. These two remedies do not negetively interact.

Is it possible Calc phos could cause a rash? I see some chappy looking spots on his hip and wrist. Also, I've noticed that his entire life he's had rough skin. Nothing that can be seen, just feels like tiny, scratchy bumps. I feel it's all connected (skin, adenoids...most of the time he feels a bit feverish tho' the thermometer never shows it). My kid is a mess!

Calc phos taken in this low potency will not generally cause any aggravation. These rashes are not related to Calc Phos. Ensure his diapers be dry everytime and wipe off his back and buttocks everytime they get wet. These rashes are very common in babies who were diapers so I don't think you should be so worried about him!

His rough skin is not limited to his diaper area. I know a diaper rash and this is not one of them. I was just concerned because I have seen a lot of info on the internet about adenoids and excema being connected.
One more question about the calc. phos....I know you can't give me an exact time limit, but from what you've seen, how long should it take before symptoms start to improve? Because if it's typically an immediate response to the calc.phos, I have not see it in my child. I've seen posts on the internet that say it takes about 1 month and I've seen posts that indicate much less time and longer.

In homeopathy the speed of curing/response of the body depends on the person itself. If its an acute symptom, the healing or aggravation and then healing will start within the first 2 days. However, if its a slow developing ailment or a chronic disease, the cure takes the same course-rate backwards.

In this case, if you have noticed any changes in his adenoids in the first two weeks of taking the remedy, you can say you have hit the right remedy. Also, if the cure doesnt start, you can ask your homeopath to review the potency and up it a bit.

Regarding the rashes, its definitely not caused by calc phos. In some children skin symptoms are seen that seem like eczema and they go off gradually without cure.

So, I guess, you should wait and watch the rashes for some days more. If it gets intense, you can go to your homeopath.

Hi Sam75. My last post on here was several months ago, and in that time, I have taken my son to a Naturopath and he is Soooo much better. I did continue on with the Calc Phos, and never used the Agraphis Nutans (figure I'll keep it until a stuffy-nose cold comes around). I feel the Calc Phos helped, causing what I'd call a 'healing crisis' b/c for a while, he sounded worse, but when the Calc phos was removed, he was better than he's ever been (def helped shrink it). My Naturopath kept him on the Calc phos and prescribed 1)probiotics, 2)Vitamin D drops, 3)fish oil (we use DHA fish oil gummies). From just the rebuilding of the good bacteria in the gut, he improved IMMENSELY! we also had a blood test done, to check for food allergies. Hit the nail on the head there...wheat gluten, dairy, peanut intolerance. He is now snore, apnea, eczema-free. In fact, he just had a bout at grandma's where she accidentally gave him wheat (for a week straight!). All of his symptoms came back, right down to the drooling and snoring. when he returned home and got back on his limited diet and immuno-building supplements, right back to good. My Naturopath is not covered by insurance (and not recognized as a true 'Doctor' in my state). She charged 180 for first visit, then 90 for every after, we purchased natural remedies each time too. I think we saw her about 4 times...about $500 total to find out the problem and 'fix' him. Just over my insurance deductible. Was it worth it to go that route? 100% and he'll never see the ENT for adenoid removal again, for sure. Find a naturopath in your area, or even a wholistic MD. Food allergies and low immunity in the gut...probably 90% of the US population's health problems. Our family has really changed around here (mostly dietary changes) and are ALL so much healthier!

sam75, please start a new post and I am quite certain we can address the adenoids and any other issues successfully with the right remedy without the need of surgery.
