Help with Amount of Granules, please?

Hi, Me Again, sorry to have so many questions and be so confused. You'd never know I've been using and 'into' Homeopathy for years now; I'm having trouble with new sizes and strengths of Remedies.

Anyway, I just bought from this website some Ledum (for Lyme's). I got the 200C and the 1M. I got the Granules. I have only taken the pills or pellets previously. The granules are so tiny and there are so many in the bottle - 2 dr.

The directions say to take 4 under the tongue. Is that right? When I used to go to a Homeopath and he gave me granules, one dose was a lot more than four granules. Is one of these tiny granules equal to one of the bigger pellets or pills?

And especially for the 1M Ledum, how many tiny granules do I take? Also, for Lyme, would you say to take the 1M three times a day for three days or just one time and that's it?

I really appreciate any help I can get on this.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
The large and small granules are the same strength. The larger ones in the bottle only insure that you must purchase more often.

If you spend $8 for a two dram bottle of remedy, and it is #10 granules, this is far more doses than if the same bottle had pellets as large as BB's. (there are also two more sizes not used as much now).

Two large grandules are the same dose as 4 or 5 of the small ones. You still come out ahead in cost. the granules are not the remedy, they are the "house" of the remedy.

Please attempt to learn to NOT pour some grains back into the bottle as it contaminates it. One should be aware of this at all times. If there is a little waste while learning this, one will learn quicker. Hold the open bottle and "roll" it, do not shake.

It is said to put a dose in the cap of the bottle and then tip into the mouth. I am very against this as the person, usually a child may cough or breathe on it and contaminate it. Then the lid contaminates the bottle. I feel, from experience, that if it is the person taking the dose, it may be placed on the palm of that same person.

Hope that answered all your questions...SABRA

I would also really like to know how many granules equals a 1M dose of Ledum. My "1M" bottle says take 5 pellets 3 times a day. So does 5 pellets equal 1M, or does 5 pellets equal 5M??? Thank you!

The potency is made before filling the bottle. The number of granules/pellets have nothing to do with potency.

Your homeopathic doctor is probably in the habit of giving more in his dosage because of our beliefs from long ago, "more is surely better." Another belief is that it must taste bad to be any good. This is old allopathic habits grown over the years, and years, and years.

When I began homeopathic training 40 years ago it was the custom to use the little granules (# 10) and place a little pile the size of a (flat) dime into the hand. After time the doctors tested and found that a few grains did the same as this huge amount.

This is why I say "it is a waste of money" many times in my postings. Same with putting the dose in the lids to contaminate the bottles.

If it is the hand of the person taking the remedy....What in the world is the problem???

So many get hung up on proper wording, proper this and proper that according to the belief systems of the author of the books they have read, they forget to look around and actually see the needs and interpret what is going on around them.

Blessings, Sabra
