chronic hair loss!! pls help dr. joe!!
Hello doc! I have had the worst night mare of my life in the past few months! :(I ve had healthy hair since childhood but have been facing serious hair fall since past 4 months..i was prescribed Isotretinoin by my dermat for acne 9 months ago n i continued for about 5 months until i realised i had chronic hair fall!! Ive tried all oils and also had a zero hair cut two months ago..hair has grown back moderately but stil hair fall is huge! Also hair density has reduced more than 50% on the top part of head from the temples to the top of back part..hair at the sides and back part seems fine..
Im also having kinda head ache on the skin level especially on the top and back part of head all the time..this worsens whenever i laugh or do excessive activity..i also notice my eyes lash and brows falling in bunches..hair on my legs and hands is pretty good

Food habbits: i cant resist sweet foodstuffs..but from the past 1 month ive been avoiding wheat and wheat products...also dairy products and sweets...
I am ready to do anything u suggest cause this is proving a big stress for me and is affecting my studies and daily life..
Hair regime: i shampoo my hair every two days with ketoconazole and use an ayurvedic conditioner..
On doing so much reading online...i fear it to be alopecia o male pattern baldness
Pls help and suggest me a proper hair regime!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Your case if of interest as you are experiencing Hair Loss at age 17 which is very unusual.
I hope that you do some regular exercise to sweat it out as this is an essential part of my therapy to help you.
The following remedies will help to arrest the loss of hair and will also help to regrow the hair in about 2 months.
Arnica Q or Mother Tincture 5ml bottle
Arnica 30c in the Liquid Dilution in Ethanol
2 500ml bottles of Spring water sold in supermarkets.
Any good Fish Liver Oil in capsule form.
Method:
Pour out about 100ml of water from each bottle.
Pour in 20 drops of Arnica Q into the water in a bottle and you should notice that the water bubbles freely when the bottle is shaken about.
Half a teaspoonful of this medicated water is to be applied on the scalp twice daily.
Please note that this water remedy with Arnica Q is NOT for oral use. It is only for massaging into the roots of the hair.
Arnica 30c for Oral use
Make the Wet dose of Arnica 30 as follows:
Order Arnica 30c in a 5ml in the Liquid Dilution in Ethanol in a bottle with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you take a capfull which is a dose twice daily. This is best taken first thing in the morning and last thing before bed.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done every time before a capful of the bottle is sipped as directed.
Take a capsule of the Fish Liver Oil daily.
Use Johnsons Baby Shampoo daily for your shower which will help to wash away the perspiration from the scalp which causes the bacteria that are responsible for your Dandruff to propagate.
Avoid Coffee, preserved meats like sausages, ham and bacon, and all canned cola beverages as they antidote the therapy.
It is understood that you will STOP all other remedies and drugs you are taking today.
Drink plenty of water and exercise daily for at least 45 minutes like walking or jogging depending on your age. The idea is to sweat it out. This is essential to promote the circulation of blood in the body which Arnica will help to promote.
Patients who suffered from severe hair loss who were losing over 200 hairs daily have confirmed that they discovered in about a week that the loss of their hair had been arrested. They also noticed that the new growth was plainly visible above their scalp when their hair was parted in about 6 weeks.
Report progress in a month.

doctor..its been a week since i started ur regime..sorry but i also prepared the arnicaQ 20% olive oil as the remedy u suggested in water wudnt stay on my hair for long....also i use jhonsons baby shampoo...but hair fall seems to be the same...do u suggest any odr medication to be added? and how many times a week do i apply the emulsion?

Since you have already mixed the Arnica Q in Olive Oil, which was the method I used and prescribed about 2 years ago, you may continue to use it.
However I read from your report that you did not notice any improvement in your hair loss and this may be due to your using the oil base instead of the water base.
You may continue with the Olive oil mix but it there is no improvement in a month you will have to change over to the water with about 50 drops added to 500ml water which you will apply and massage to your scalp twice or thrice daily. It is just possible that the water is more capable of entering the hair follicles in comparison to the Olive oil mix and if so you will have to change over ASAP.

Doc! Its been 2 weeks of ur remedy..i dont observe any reduction of hair fall..also wanted to tell you that the arnicaQ in water solution tends to fall off my hair and very little reaches my scalp evn after pouring good amount! Also hair seems dry and rough after this and more hair fall being rough! Pls help doc! Also i forgot to mention earlier..i even have 3 spots of leucoderma since 6 years now..which just seems stable since last 5years..both leucoderma and alopecia are auto immune diseases..so pls help me! Waiting for ur rpl!

The solution of 50 drops Arnica Q in a 500ml bottle of water is by far more effective than the mix in Olive oil. I have explained the reason in my last post and if you do not experience any reduction in your hair loss, I do not think that Arnica can help you. You may double the number of drops to 100 and see if it helps.

Its really disheartening to hear this from u doc! ive found out that its diffused unpattern alopecia that i suffering along with leukderma...pls suggest a good treatment soon!
