Please help: Doctor has given up on me

I am 44 years old

I have a medical history of anxiety and panic disorder

I am chronically anemic since childhood

I am taking atenolol for high blood pressure. High blood pressure runs on both sides of my family.

I am a very emotional person and get upset easily

For two years I have been having trouble swallowing food. It gets stuck in my throat and I choke on it. So I began eating a soft diet and grinding up anything that is difficult to swallow.

After one year of trouble swallowing, I began having chest pain that was dull and aching, sometimes like a spasm.

Every day I have soreness in my chest, neck, and back, sometimes radiating into my arms. Sometimes, my chest hurts when pressed on with fingers. I hurt in my rib cage, sternum, breast bone.

Sometimes, I have a bitter metallic taste in my mouth that increases after eating or drinking, and can last all day long. Sometimes I wake up with it.

I have gone to the ER and doctor a total of 14 times this past year. They run cardiac tests, blood work, chest xray and scans. Every time I go for a test it comes out normal. Endoscopy shows mild inflammation in my esophagus and peptic ulcer. I was diagnosed as having GERD (Acid reflux), Esophageal spasm, and Costochondritis.

I have been tried on different PPI's and H2 antacids, Zantac, Prilosec, Protonix, and Prevacid. Every single time I take these, they make me feel incredibly sick. My stomach and chest hurts whenever I take them. I have tried taking Pepto Bismol, but it doesn't help either. I am at a loss. My doctor threw up his hands last week and said he didn't know what to do, and has sent me home to suffer.

Four days ago, I had chest pains again that were right sided. We went back to the ER again, and they tested my heart and did blood work, and came back and said it was not my heart. The doctor put protonix in my IV and within five minutes I suffered a severe chest pain. I know it was the protonix that did it but they told me it was not.

Now, I have drastically changed my diet. I eat low fat foods, in very small meals. I'm doing slightly better with changing my foods, but I still get the spasms and soreness in my chest and rib cage. Sometimes when I eat, my stomach burns and has stabbing pain.

Two days ago I read about magnesium helping with esophageal spasms. So when I had a spasm hit me, I tried some magnesium powder in water, and I could not believe that it stopped it.

I have been trying to find remedies that could help with the acid reflux, the sore chest muscles and tissues, and the spasms.

Please advise, as I am so tired of hurting. As a mother, I am unable to take care of my child and this really scares me.

Thank you for your consideration.

Hello Flower Song.

Before you do anything, or taking any homeopathic medicine, we should look at your symptoms. Creating a anamnese.

Take a look at this question form, and write down your answers. Answers may give an idea of what medicine you need.

Thank you doctors. I will not be able to obtain the medicine until Friday when I go into the city. I will then start and report back. Thank you for your time, I truly appreciate it.

One thing to note: the only thing I have on hand is magnesia phosphorica 30C. When chest spasms in my right side start up, I take 5 pellets and within a few minutes the spasms stop. This has also happened when I take powdered magnesium in a cup of water.

Thank you

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering?

Chest pain/aching, ride sided spasms into breast bone between breasts, sometimes worse with eating, acidic or metallic taste in mouth, neck pain, sometimes upper back ache. Sometimes I have trouble swallowing.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?

Chronic anemia, High blood pressure, anxiety and panic disorder

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

I feel terrified that I am dying of a heart attack every day, even when the doctor tells me that my heart tests are fine. I have feelings of grief and worry about my marriage.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? Describe the sensation in your own words.

I feel I may die at any moment and leave my little girl behind. I feel hopeless and frightened.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

About two years ago, chest pains started. I would go the hospital and they would run tests and tell me it was my esophagus. I have been told repeatedly that it's esophagus and Costchondritis.

6. Which time of the day you are worst?

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same? Example- time, temperature, pressure, rubbing, washing, eating, tight clothing etc.

Right now, I notice that some foods aggravate it. Such as creams, sauces, carbonated drinks, or drinking too much. The time does not seem to effect this, as I can wake up with it and have it go on all day until bedtime.

Sometimes moving around will aggravate my chest wall. My activites have become very limited. If I get upset or stressed out about something, the pain returns too.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?

I'm not sure. I do have really bad anxiety attacks before my menses is to come, and after it is finished.

I feel that stress has brought on the whole thing from the very beginning.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?

Cold weather

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

For the past two years, I cannot tolerate any stress. I fall apart and cry. I have lashed out because I feel so upset inside. On some days, I feel calm and feel fine, and on others I feel afraid and stressed out.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?

Happy, because I like storms.

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?

Yes, and sometimes I like to be alone.

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?

I cannot tolerate bright lights or loud noises. They make me tense.

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
Weeping, talking to one self etc?

No. I do cry when stressed.

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?

I'm feeling upset with my husband. A year ago he met another woman and wanted to leave me, but changed his mind because he said he realized he made a mistake. Our marriage is doing very well and we are close again, but I live in fear that he may just leave me. I am feeling stressed out by parenting, but other than this, I love my daughter and feel close to her, and wish I could feel physically better so I could be there more for her.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?

I fear abandonment. I fear a life all alone. My dad left me when I was 6 years old. I don't want to be abandoned.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?

I crave ginger, garlic, nut butters, chocolate, orange spices, red bell peppers, and coffee

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?

Normal, but I do have a dry mouth

14. How is your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?

Normal.

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?

I cannot tolerate hot peppers, or very hot foods.

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?

I don't sweat

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?

Normal, sometimes I have diarrhea with stress.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?

I sleep on my sides, but sometimes I wake up on my back. I do not sleep well, and I feel that I have hormonal related insomnia.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?

Yes, but I have not really felt sexual as much as I used to.

20. Do you have any strange, peculiar or unusual symptom or feelings? How are you different from others?

The right sided chest spasms going into the breast bone is a new symptom, as is the soreness in my right breast. It feels tense there in the muscle too.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?

I am taking atenolol for high blood pressure. I have tried taking some PPI's and H2 receptor medication but they make my chest hurt more, and cause more acid taste in my mouth, so I stopped taking the PPI's and H2 receptors.

22. What major diseases are running in your family?

Stroke, Heart, High blood pressure

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance.
(For Females)

5'5, overweight, good posture, shoulder length brown hair, dark eyes, medium skin tone, wear glasses.

Hello!
Sorry for the late reply, but have had many paying patients, and I have to prioritize these people.

I will study your case during the day, and give you an answer when I find a medicine that is right for you. Could be that I would come up with more questions.

You use the beta blocker Atenolol. This medication amplifier, in many cases, anxiety and fear. Perhaps you should talk to your doctor about switching to another? And why are you using the beta blocker when doctors can not find any fault with your heart? Why not use a medicine only for blood pressure? Strange.

Ok, talk to you later. Have a nice day.

I am sorry for not getting back to my thread. I am in so much trouble.

I went to the ER three times last week with right sided chest spasms and pains. They did a full cardiac work up and they cannot find a thing wrong with my heart. The doctor said it could be gallstones, because I have been suffering with acid and pain.

They ran a sonogram and found gallstones. Every day I have problems with eating and drinking and acid/metallic taste in my mouth. I was also suffering with diarrhea. Right now I am eating very very little each day and I cannot drink much either or it will cause me pains.

I went to see a surgeon about the sonogram and gallstones and he said the gallbladder was not critical and was not inflamed or infected, but needs to come out. I have no fever and I am not jaundiced, and my blood work is all normal with my liver function.

The doctor felt my pain, acid, and problems was coming from the gallstones.

I don't want to have gallbladder surgery if I can avoid it. If there are any remedies to help dissolve gallstones, please assist.

As for my blood pressure medicine, I have not had time to address this with the doctor yet. I'd like to get my pain and gallstone issues under control first as I am feeling very weak with this condition.

Thank you
