Mastitis in Nursing Mom
My wife is suffering from acute pain in her right breast while nursing a 5 month old child. The pain is intense initially but weans off as feeding progresses. She had this 2 weeks back and with hot water and salt, it became much better and she did not have any pain for about 3 days and she left the hot compress. The pain started again and today it was back to full force. It could be blocked milk-ducts but for the first time, she also had little bleading from the nipple. There is also tingling and throbbing in the entire breast even when she is not feeding. At present even the touch of cloth on the nipple is very troublesome.
At present she is on Pytollaca Berry mother tincture every two hours. She just had her first dose.
She already had Merc when she had pains 2 weeks ago but that did not relieve her.
Interestingly, she should not be having menses while she is breast feeding but she is regularly having and menses every month on time the flow has been very fast with lots of clots after delivery.
Please suggest.

Is there any hardening of the breast? (BTW, you need potentized Phyto. Dec., if its indicated, not Phy. berry Q). You might also look up Silicea and Bryonia.
Is the milk flow normal? Use Calendula (can mix it in a little fresh butter and apply on the nipples).
I would also suggest that one solution is what grannies would suggest - the warm compresses you've already used, and milking the breast between feeds.
