leg and thigh swalling

My wife has swelling in her leg and thigh from last two month. she is taking calcium, vitamin E and folic acid tablets from last 1 month. earlier she had benefit from them but now not any more. she has pain in swollen area as well. She put IUD which women put to avoid pregnancy. She might have the problem due to that as well as doctors are saying this is also the one cause of swelling in first 3-4 months after inserting UID or might have some infection as well. Her HB is normal and BP is also normal, no fever and no abdomen pain, yes some time back pain as well.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Swelling after first 3 or 4 months
after getting a copper wire?

I don't know what anyone might treat
this with, but that sounds like a
bad price to pay for IUD. I had something
similar to that
myself and could not
stand it- and had it taken out.

Some people it does not bother them
at all-but others like me the body wants
to reject it.

The doctors seem to be saying that
'swelling for 3 to 4 months after
insertion of IUD is part of the process or
can be part of the process. Of course
we don't know - at all what people
take for normal in another country.

Not normal here in USA-nobody would
do it.

Hi all,
I have consulted another gynecologist and after check up she said it is not due to IUD and she has prescribed medicines for week to her. Doctor said nothing is serious and it will be ok in week. so hope for the best.
