Cough, must hold head when coughing

My daughter is sick and needs a remedy. She has cough and congestion.

Here is what she told me:
Head pain worse on left side.
Head pain worse for walking, worse for bright light, and worse for climbing stairs.

Head pain MUCH WORSE for bending and stooping. Stooping causes a woozy feeling and really intense throbbing pain.

Top of head/scalp feels like someone has pulled her hair. Usually wears hair up in a clip but does not want hair put up.

Head pain, occipital. Both sides hurt at base of skull and pain radiates up and around.

Cough is painful. Must hold head when coughing or must push head back against chair to hold it still when coughing.

Back hurts. Wants back rubbed to relieve pain.

Better for in the car driving and better for sitting.

Did not reveal any particular emotional state.

I hope someone will be able to suggest a remedy as she is quite uncomfortable.

Thanks so much,
ruth

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
This looks like Belladonna. Do you have 200c?

Belladonna. Well now I see it. I thought it was Bryonia but now I see Belladonna even though she didn't have high fever. And come to think of it, a couple days ago she said she wanted lemonaid. Belladonna likes lemons, right?

She is in another city and I could not get remedies to her, nor did she have anywhere to purchase them. She is over the worst of the symptoms but not completely well. What would you suggest now? I can get Belladonna 30c to her or order 200c if you think she still needs that.

Thanks so much,
ruth

30c probably won't be high enough but is better than nothing. Will she still be sick by the time you get 200c? I am assuming this is just an acute.

Bryonia is not sensitive to Jarring, which is the case here. Bryonia is sensitive to the slightest movement so they hold themselves still. Belladonna cannot stand sudden violent movement, like jumping or stepping or sneezing. It is important to understand the subtle differences between the remedies. Otherwise they can all look alike.

New development: I sent her the Belladonna 200c and she got it today but she has developed a stye. It is on her right eye, lower lid, midway between middle to outer corner. It is painful when blinking and when closing her eyes tight. It is pinkish to red and the redness extends from the stye like red eyeliner. She said as far as pain it is a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. The headache was a 9. Her congestion and cough are better but none gone.

She is waiting to take the Belladonna in case this changes the remedy. I looked it up in my book and Belladonna is not indicated for styes.

I would appreciate your reply and advice.

Thanks,
ruth

Every remedy is indicated for styes. We choose a remedy on the basis of the 'flavor' of the case rather than the specific names of the complaints. Belladonna styes will throb, be red and swollen, quite warm, worse when stooping or jarring - just like everything else in Belladonna. If the stye is not particularly important to the vital energy it may have no distinct modalities (sensations, what makes it worse, what makes it better) so you can ignore it for purposes of choosing a remedy.

It is important to understand that the name of the complaint (headache, stye, stomachache, eczema etc) is irrelevent to remedy selection. How that complaint displays itself in the patient is the important thing.

By the way, if you wait long enough, most acutes will solve themselves. Make sure if you are going to use a remedy that was selected for certain symptoms, that the qualities that lead to the remedy are still present. If not, the remedy can aggravate or cause those symptoms to reappear.
