The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Scope of online Homeopathy forums

I have been taking part and observing the discussion on this forum for sometime.
My observations are
1. Most of the participants do'nt have any knowledge of homeopathy, they just seek medical adv on minimal medical history.
2. Homeopaths also answer to such queries casually.
I feel that there should be some form of patient education programme, after study of which ,patient can take maximum advantage of this type of forums.I feel that separate forums for Professionals are the best thing online.Limitations of oline forums are obvious.I invite members for their views.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I respectfully suggest that we all take the time to realize that our world is going down the drain rapidly. The human condition and lack of education is part of the causes of the unaware non-caring conditions in our planet that threaten our very survival. Technology is very high and our public growth and awareness has not followed the same rise.

In one small country the available water was so bad the people hardly lived past 35 years of age. Children died regularly. It was expected. The government decided to put deep wells all over and give them clean water to improve their lives. After 5 years it seemed that people were now dying of another ailment...Arsnic. These same people that tried to help, gave no thought to TESTING the so-called clean water to see if it was indeed, clean!

We must not separate ourselves from one another in regard to our humanity. We must do all we can to communicate with others and educate and help as best we can to those that have no other recourse but to write to strangers for help and direction.

The poor have nothing. They cannot even write this site for help. There are millions that die every hour for lack of the simplest, easiest remedies and clean water.

There is no government medical coverage and it would be questionable at best. HMO's have destroyed what little we did have. Insurance company premiums have gone sky high. AND they now decide, not being doctors, what we will and will not receive in the way of medical services and tests.

Humanity needs help and we must not separate ourselves from them for if not them, go ourselves. We are fortunate to have knowledge. We are fortunate that we have viable medicine that works and is not harmful. We are fortunate that the homeopathic remedies will not be gone in 3 days in the event of a terrible catastrophe, as all allopathic medicines will be.

The public does not need to be discarded just because they are not educated; they are not doctors. Imagine walking in their shoes for awhile.

The most unfortunate thing of all is that 100 years ago, many knew how to care for ourselves. Many could recognize when we were sick. We could use herbs from our gardens or consult the local herbalist. Because of the conceit of the medical profession in general, the public has lost this ability of self care or even how to relate what is wrong with them. Brainwashed into this absence by the AMA and other medical authorities.

Humanity had a hand in giving medical leaders this power when we became so enamored with the new "magic pills" of Penicillin and such. Humanity stopped caring for themselves and gave the power of self help to the local doctor that gets paid whether or not what they prescribe cures or not.

We all need to encourage and give this ability back to Humanity. Why should this large portion of the human race be discarded as "less than?" Let us learn the meaning of compassion and help them become "more than" they now are.....SABRA

Dear Sabra,
How best we can achieve on this forum, is the question. We all here are to help.It is no refusal to common men.
Idea of professional forum is only to exchange views.

Dear dr sadhwani,

I'm not keen on entry requirements to the forum. As Sabra says, the whole point of it is that it is freely available to all.

I do agree though that more knowledge of homeopathy would be very useful to the people posting questions. ABC already has such pages, but what I propose then is that we open a new thread entitled 'How to use homeopathy' or something similar, and if it's informative, we'll keep it at the top of the forum. In writing to this thread, it is important to remember that the average online attention span is very very short; so keep all entries short and concise.

Dr. Sadhwani...
Instead of giving lectures on "how to do" and saying "so and so does not know" please share your knowledge of homeopathy and answer the queries of the patients.

We have come across many homeopaths who wanted to use this FORUM to enhance their practice. However, that is not the purpose of the FORUM. It is only for those who have homeopathic knowledge plus a charitable disposition to help others without seeking a fee or a reward in return.

It is also for the homeopaths to share their knowledge. (See the posts of Sabra , Dr. Saleem Hamid and Ally. Also some others).

The undersigned also tries to do a few things in a small way.

While we welcome people who help in a genuine way, we would very much like to keep away people who want to use the FORUM to enhance their practice.

We definately donot like people calling each other names....it is better to put two heads together and evolve a solution for a patient seeking advice.....

"Great people discuss ideas...
Average people discuss events...
Mean people discuss others!"

I am always appreciative of the efforts put in by the people at ABC for this valuable site and the FORUM.

Best regards,

Dr. Sadhwani,

As a first step, can you design a standard questionnaire for people seeking advice??

best regards,

Hello all,

I've started working on a page that people will be asked to read before posting. Before putting it live, I would be grateful for any feedback.

It goes like this:

Guide to Posting Medical Questions

Homeopathy is very different to conventional medicine in that to be effective, a very large level of detail is required. The more information you can give, the better the advice you receive will be.

In order to get a good quality reply, you will have to give the following information:

Each symptom in as much detail as possible. For example, for a headache, describe the type of pain (ie sharp, dull, stabbing, pulsating etc etc)
Where each symptom is located (ie at right temples)
What first started it off (ie walking in a cold wind)
When it's worse (ie on seeing bright lights, on stepping, before period, etc)
When it feels better (ie lying down in a dark room, when warm, when cold)
Your sleep pattern
What you are sensitive to (ie, heat, cold, touch, criticism, etc)
Your state of mind (fears, anxieties, attitudes, moods, etc)
What other symptoms you have (ie sore throat, watering eyes, cold feet, thirst).
It will be easier to read your post, so you are more likely to receive a response, if you write it as a list rather than a history of your life spanning many pages. The more concise you can make it, the better.

Dear Sadhwani,

you talked about professional forums. I am the member of all professional fourms. I think you have not observed that we read one post per month in professional forum and in few forums one post in three months.
