pain after root canal retreatment

I've just had a re-treatment for my infected root canal and I'm in pain...
Before treatment my infected upper tooth was more less ok, just with on & off dull pain somewhere in the jaw that was radiating up and giving me mild left sided headaches from time to time.
It's root canals have been re-treated 4 days ago. I took arnica & hypericum for the first 2 days. Apart from occasional & very mild sensation somewhere in the tooth I felt fine.
3 days latter, I've started to feel the tooth and gums above it where the anaesthetic was injected. Started rinsing my mouth wit hypericum/calendula tincture & took hypericum 30 now 3 times.
The tooth is crowned, no swelling of the gums, but sore, painful tooth. Sensitive to cold & pain radiating up my jaw & head. Am craving warmth. And am feeling disappointed that after so much effort & money spent it got worse rather then it was before the treatment.
I also have to mention, I was taking silica 6, calc. phos 6 & calc. fluor 6 ( 2 palets once a day)priory to the treatment and up to tonight. Just read a post that silica expels metal, and my newly treated tooth got a pole for extra support, don't know what it's made of...
Any advise is very apreciated!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I believe that the root of your tooth is infected and you will have to consult your dentist who will prescribe a suitable antibiotic like Ampicillin.

You can continue to take Arnica 30c in the Wet dose every 3 hours to help dull the pain. It will not however kill the bacteria and the antibiotic is essential to do so.

he Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in the Liquid pack in Alcohol, also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard at least 6 times before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this enhances the effect of the remedy on the user.

thank you for your reply!
This morning my tooth is feeling so much better! Last night, before going to bed, I took arnica 30, calendula 30 & hypericum 30, just because of the soreness in the place of injection. I would feel pain in that area from smiling.
In the morning there is no pain in the gum, the tooth still feels a bit alive (no pain, but it's not completely sensation less). Tooth not sensitive to cold so far, no pain on tapping it, no swelling. Fingers crossed...
As for antibiotics, I'll contact my endodontics specialist, but the way I understand the root canal re treatment was exactly because of the infection that antibiotics can't reach?

This will give you more data on the procedure involved which you have just undergone.

The Arnica I prescribed in my last post seems to have acted even faster than I reckoned and there is absolutely no need for you to take an antibiotic, judging by your report.

I note that you are taking 3 remedies of which I only prescribed Arnica 30c in the Wet dose which I use and prescribe exclusively.

It is best not to overload yourself with remedies and I would suggest you use the Arnica alone as prescribed by me.

thank you very much for all your help Joe, very appreciated!
I'll only take arnica 30 in the wet dose from now on.
Since I'm in no acute pain, how often & for how long should I take it for?

Thanks again!

You can safely take it 4 times daily for a few days if you have any pain and when you are sure that there is no pain you can take it just twice daily.

Arnica works by increasing the flow of blood throughout the body and it helps is some mysterious way to take over from the Novocaine used as the anesthetic before removal of the tooth.

I am 82 years of age and have had a lot of dental work on my upper molars as they had all cracked with age and I used Arnica 30 in the Wet dose as the analgesic post surgery. It always worked and I did not have any pain whatsoever.

I have taken Arnica 30 in the WD for the last 16 years and would recommend that you too take it just once nightly for the rest of your life.
